About 4-5 months ago I bought two pairs of glasses from the lady here, one with sunglass attachment and one with blue light lenses, as there was a promotion for 2 pairs. I had my eye exam at another place in the mall but couldn't find a single frame I liked in my size. Tried two other eyeglass places in the mall but felt they were over priced. The lady here was super helpful with sizing and upfront about pricing. I had a hard time making a decision after trying on so many pairs and needed help choosing. Got my glasses about a week later and they looked and fit great. Thanks again!

Poor experience. Ive never worn contacts before so I asked they gave samples, they don't but ordered a trial pair to check the fit. I had an appointment when they came in to try the contacts on, which I went to. Didnt get to take the trial pair home, only took them in and out a few times before she told me that shes going to chuck them and I would need to purchase 2 boxes of 12 lenses at 68.00 a box(biweekly lenses) because I have two different prescriptions. Also, she would not provide me with my BC number and told me it was illegal to provide that part of my prescription to me so that I could order contacts elsewhere. Won't go back even though I loved the doctor that performed my eye exam before her and I wont be ordering glasses or contacts through them either.

Doctor Christiana Ojiako was amazing!! We giggled and laughed, she put me at ease, explained my issues in terms I could easily understand, others have tried but with her I finally got it!! Thorough and excellent customer service! Next stop, Chris, the optician, helped me pick out some great frames and even called my friend Kim who was transferred to the Trenton store to ask her to check her phone for pictures of my choices! That was over and above in my opinion. He wasn't pushy about the sale and quoted 2 different ways of going about my lenses and clearly explained both without trying to make me spend the extra money, that was truly appreciated. There was another female staff on duty and sadly I didn't get her name but she was awesome as well. Affordable pricing doesn't have to mean poort service, I had an excellent experience today and highly recommend this location!!

Purchased safety glasses which broke shortly after I received them and when went back in the worker accused me of dropping them which I had not the lense cracked in the corner probably from the side shield. They fixed them after insulting me by calling me a liar. They lasted 2 weeks and broke again once again she accused me of dropping them which didn’t happen and then it was maybe they weren’t the right size which as an optical place they size and should know if they are the right size. The optician both T.I.,es was great but the particular worker was rude both times. I have had safety glasses for 40 years plus and know how to take care of them and do not drop them. They did not fix the last time and I brought in an old pair and had them put lenses in at my expense. No apology no customer service they may be cheaper but I guess you get what you pay for I do not recommend

Came here for glasses and contacts. Took a bit longer than usual to get used to this time. Didn't think much of it. My left eye has always been fairly strong never blurry. Now after wearing these glasses they are so blurry I cant see anything without my glasses. Also got 3 months worth of contacts. They were super dry, again didn't think anything of it just bought eyedrops. I go to a new optometrist who said they had me in too small contact (8.5) they were so tight on my right eye I now have a permanent red line on my eye. She said when you can physically see it in the mirror it means the damage is extensive.

Still under warranty and the arm falls off..guess what they give me a arm that is ugly from and old pair they had ..said sorry no longer have that style.. I work in a professional place with ugly glasses now. This is not ok ! Going to getting a hold of head office.

I only gave this one star because I didn’t have the option of giving it no stars. The staff here are unfriendly, uneducated and I have yet to get back glasses that have been done right. After a major blunder on my child’s glasses there was no apology and a LOT of excuses and that was after waiting 3 weeks for them to begin with. I was told I couldn’t pick them up without an Optometrist to check them and fit them (reasonable) and then they didn’t check them or fit them they just handed them to me. This place is seriously a joke!! I don’t take negative reviews lightly and I am far more prone to give a positive review than a negative one, but with service like this we could use one less optical place in the city.

Awful experience I mean the ladies who helped me do the tests and choose the right frames were very helpful but when I finally got in to see the optometrist he barely spoke more then 2 words to me and basically came out with a little box to tap my card on at the end, all with barely speaking to me. Extremely sociable and helpful staff. Helped me pick out two beautiful frames and informed me of all sales, bargains and extra features. Knew what type of frame would look good for my face :) cleaning all surfaces after customers touched them, great policies for sanitation that are followed by all staff. Professional and courteous. Took about 30 minutes. Nice selection of frames and colours. Definitely would recommend.

The only place I ever recommend to go for eyeglasses and frames. The nicest staff you’ll ever meet and will bend over backwards to help you no matter how busy it is. I’ve been buying my glasses from them for years and although they’re cheaper frames and glasses, they hold up. I’m quite rough on my glasses and they have held up. If you’re looking for a bargain on glasses and don’t care if it’s the most expensive set out there, I highly recommend this place.

I’ve been to this vision centre a few times for glasses and adjustments and have always received great service from the clerks and opticians there :) I had a nice chat with the staff there on my most recent visit and the optician also gave me advice to help reduce scratches on my glasses and asked how my sunglasses were that I didn’t even bring in. I wouldn’t have gone back for my second round of lenses if this wasn’t a good spot to get glasses for a good deal with great service ????

I'd give this center zero stars if I could attached a review to it.. absolutely awful people skills. I have been dealing with this place for a little over a year now as my grandmother had an eye exam there. Booked her first one absolutely no problems. My grandmother has severe social anxiety and getting her to appointments is sometimes stressful and overwhelming and it takes an entire morning of prep work to get her to go. She needed new glasses a few months ago so I called to book her another appointment the lady was very rude. She would not let me make the appointment on my grandmother's behalf because she had to speak to my her directly ( MY GRANDMOTHER IS ALMOST 90 YEARS OLD AND CANNOT HEAR WELL) After letting her know that she wouldn't get anywhere speaking to her on the phone she basically told me it wasn't her problem and thats how it works. I asked if I could bring her down then to answer questions because then I can atleast help her answer and it would be in person. The lady told me that was not possible it had to be over the phone. I find it very hard to believe that my grandmother is the only elderly person in Pembroke who has trouble hearing and communicating with people and gets frustrated when it's someone she isn't comfortable with. Eventually they let me make the appointment after 20 minutes of rude phone conversation and trying to level with the lady. Made the appointment one month later glasses broke. Now I'm being told she needs an entirely new eye exam and brand new glasses and I cannot book her appointment or have her previous subscription to take it somewhere else. Very annoying.

I went here for an eye exam. In and out. Prescription in hand. Checked out glasses and staff was fairly friendly. Chose a pair and am currently awaiting my new pair. Will review again once I receive them. If there were problems with staff before they've either changed staff or revamped the way they treat clients. ????‍♀️

I was in a rush to replace my glasses that broke. I went to choose my frames on a Thursday afternoon and picked up both pairs the following Tuesday. My experience was quick and easy. It only took me about 10 minutes to find the right frames. Nelia was great in assisting me and doing what she needed to do. These are the best pairs of eyeglasses I've ever had in a long time! I got lenses put into my Tiffany sunglasses. They took forever. Told me it was because of the strength of my lenses. Got them back with chips and scratches all over the new lenses. So they sent them away. Awhile later they came back and I can't see great out of them. They should match my regular glasses. I'm going to try and get my money back. This is not right!!

I have been ordering my contacts (and sometimes glasses) here for a few years and have found the staff helpful and knowledgable.The only thing is that it's often very busy and if anything, they could do with an extra staff member or two on shift.

Worker was very rude. We were standing in store for about five minutes, no employee greeted us or acknowledged us. Instead they were standing around taking selfies. Person I was with opened the glass so we could find what we were looking for, but than the lady who was working stomped over rudely making a scene in front of everyone at the cashiers. Extremely good customer service! I went to Hakim Optical to get my temple bent back to normal. I was asked if I bought my frames there and how long ago. He didn’t look at my glasses but told me that there’s a very good change that if he tried to bend the arm that the glasses would break. I went to Walmart Optical showed the man my glasses. He looked at them said that the frames look sturdy and offered to fix them. Left the store with fixed glasses and a huge sense of relief.

The night before we left for a trip to Ontario both sets of my husbands glasses broke at arms with pins, after hours of trying to repair, decided to wait till we got to Baden our destination from B.C. 6:00 am flight. What a wonderful efficient technician at the vision center in Walmart, 100 The Boardwalk, Kitchener, On., she had both pair repaired and cleaned very quickly. Great experience! I only had one contact lense left for the day and went to Walmart optical to resupply on my contacts and i jokingly mentioned I had only one lense in my eyes and the kind optomitrist gave me a contact lense for my other eye. It made my day and it was a really wholesome experience.

Doctor Christiana ojiako was the best optometrist I've been to. She actually listened to me when I told we my family history with eye issues and my own personal medical history and used it. She found out things about my eyes that my old doctor would never have even looked at, despite asking him to. My experience was fantastic! I made an appointment and was lucky to get the next available one. Staff was courteous ,friendly and very thorough following Covid policies. They were helpful in picking out frames and were not pushy on buying the expensive or extras. The optometrist was very nice and even funny. I think the behaviours that you emit is what you will get in return Amazing 5 star service Walmart vision centre. I also have PTSD so they made it easy for me and had my glasses within 2 weeks. Booked an appointment for getting our eyes checked. The eye doctor on site was NOT friendly or even personable. Basically in & out with a prescription that is unreadable by any eye glass place in the area. Tried to look at frames and the staff was rude, didn't seem to care of we purchased our glasses there or not. Would not recommend this place to anyone for vision care, in fact will be taking my complaint even further. Why hire staff that isn't personable or even friendly? Or does Wal-Mart even care with the billions they make?

I ordered eye glasses on July 30th. I was promised delivery in 6-9 days. It is now August 22 and I am still without glasses. I have made multiple phone calls and visited the location twice. I have contacted Walmart's office and registered a complaint. Still nothing. Nothing but apologies and excuses. It is past 3 weeks and still no answers. A level of professional incompetence that I have never witnessed before.

Before, if you had a valid prescription you could purchase glasses or contacts without seeing their eye dr. Now, they make an appointment so they can verify "it's the right fit." . ..Hmm ok. Even though I just had my eyes checked and have the numbers regarding size on a card, they can't sell me anything. Another issue is the price, at Walmart it's 48$ for one box of a particular brand, plus tax. Or you go online and for $30 including tax and shipping you can order and have them at your home, work, or anywhere you are before your appointment with their dr. The problem is I don't live here so I can't sched. an appointment. Very disappointed in the hassle from them. They lost my sale . Online shopping it is!

Bought super transition glasses in august 2020. Now 6 months later they have gone so dark have to take them off to go inside. Went back to Walmart as told they could not do anything after 1 month. This is my 6th pair from Walmart and my last.

The manager is horrible and it seems impossible to deal with anyone higher up than him. They lied about how long it would take to get my glasses and then the lens was falling out on one side...according to the manager Badera, that's normal and not a problem.

2 month ago we Purchased 2 pair of eyeglasses with transition lenses. They were supposed to be better than my 6 year old transition lense glasses and they are not. They only transition 1/2 as much as the old lenses. Walmart had the best prices for glasses - but the downside seems to be lower quality lenses.

Got Walmart Vision Centre to make my safety prescription sunglasses. Twice they have from from the lab with deep visible scratches on the lense. Not sure what is happening in the lab. Been a huge waste of time dealing with Walmart. Not worth the small savings. Hope the third times the charm.

I was very uncomfortable during the eye exam, abrupt, cut me off when I tried to answer his questions to the point of being very rude & the prescription I received is too strong. I asked for a 2nd appointment to adjust the prescription & was told to see the optician-i did & she guaranteed the prescription was good. I ordered glasses & NO the prescription is too strong. I have been going to this vision center for years as staff was wonderful, friendly, helpful and the exam was always thorough. I am so very disappointed & sad with my current experiences I now-will not recommend this center to anyone--ever again!

I love how you get 2 pairs of glasses for an affordable price. That said, one pair had the wrong script in them - it happens everywhere, no big deal. I returned them to the store and the woman was so rude to me. Once the lenses reached the lab and it was verified that there was a problem with the glasses, and not just me being "difficult", she was nicer. Basically - its an affordable option but if there is a problem with your order, stand your ground because you will get attitude about it.

Very friendly and helpful. I have type 2 diabetes and they did that test as well. Fitment and quality were great and I never felt rushed. Other negative reviews are skewed as the doctor shouldn't have to wait on others' tardiness. I've been here several times and cannot think of any complaints. Great service, great quality at a competetive price...what more can one ask for? I will be making another appointment as soon as I'm done here.

I had an appointment scheduled at 2:00pm as the "first" patient of the day. 30 minutes later despite numerous attempts from staff to contact the doctor, he still hasn't shown up. No traffic issues or accidents anywhere near the location according to Google Maps traffic. No call from the doctor informing them when he would arrive and why he was delayed. Not very professional behavior by the doctor. Staff left to deal with other frustrated customers as well.

This place is insanely difficult to get into for an appointment. This is the 2nd time ive tried to book and its at least 2 weeks before i can get in . Their hours of operation are terrible too you would think they would be open late being located inside walmart but nope! So inconvenient for people that work til 5 most days and u can't even get an evening appt. Ill be going else where now ..

I don't know if the optometrist screwed up my prescription, or if whoever made my glasses should find a new job, but in the 30+ years I've been wearing glasses, they are by far the worst I've ever had. When I called to complain, they didn't want to hear it. They told me there would be an adjustment period. I know that, but it's been over 6 months and I've had to resort to "cheaters" since I used my benefits up on these pieces of junk. Never again.
