We searched all over the city looking for very specific frames for sunglasses. That included incl individual Hakim stores. As a last effort we popped in at Hakim KP. We experienced many varying levels of customer service at the various Hakim stores. Jessica G at Kildonan Place went so far above and beyond what everyone else was willing to do. Not only that, she is witty, and very enjoyable to talk to. I truly appreciate how her and the staff went the extra mile to look after us. Not going anywhere for glasses again, if she is working there.

The only place I will go for glasses from now on. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. I wear high index lenses ,progressives. Picked them up today. I have absolutely no problems with them. When I picked out the frames was helped by Jessica. I did not feel rushed when choosing, she recommended a lot of frames for my type of lenses more than I would have done myself. I would give them 10 out 10 stars. Above and beyond excellent service hands down. Jessica wasn’t there when I picked up my frames but the young lady that helped was the same friendly, helpful! My mother will be going there when she can afford it. Covid-19 rules followed did not feel unsafe. Felt very safe!

I received a great pair of glasses from this location last year. I paid for the eye exam but unfortunately they didn’t give me the PD. I tried to reach out to access this information, but they refused to give it me and told me there’s a law that forbids the act of giving out the measurement between my eyes. I didn’t think that the measurement between my eyes would be so confidential. Then, I spoke with another lady who didn’t acknowledge this law at all, but instead said that it costs $50 dollars to get the PD. Opticians of Manitoba states that an eye glasses record must include monocular or binocular pupillary distance (PD). Overall, great service.

I usually don't write reviews. But I had to say a few quick words about my experience at Hakim optical Kildonan place. Usually shopping for new glasses is a daunting experience. This time is was seamless, Thanks too the friendly staff and great selection and cleanliness of the Store. I would recommend anyone shopping for new glasses to go to Hakim Optical Kildonan. I definitely won't shop anywhere else anymore.

I'm in love with my new glasses! I went into the store not knowing what kind of frame and lenses to buy; the knowledgeable staff helped me pick out the perfect pair for my face shape and lifestyle. I'm also thankful they were so patient with me when I was browsing through their many selection of styles. (I was there for quite some time) They also let me know that they were getting a new shipment of glasses the following week, so I had put aside a few frames on my first visit and I came back to see the new shipment; I really appreciate how helpful and patient they were with me! I would definitely recommend coming to this location in the beautifully renovated section of Kildonan Place, so much to choose from and the staff are just so friendly and awesome!

I booked an appointment stating I needed a colour blind test for work. They said no problem. I came in for my appointment the next day, it was afar drive for me. When I got there for my scheduled appointment they said they didn't even have a colour blind test. So I wasted my time, fuel and babysitter fee. How does an optimist not have a colour blind test? Interesting experience.

Jessica was very helpful! I really like the couch eyeglasses I bought, however the hakim sunglasses are very poor quality. I wouldn’t recommend hakim brand eyewear.

Service is great, prices reasonable but I did not like that I had to pay extra for the details of my prescription AFTER buying a pair of glasses as I wanted to use zenni optical for some cheaper ones for the cottage as I have lost some in the water before but this info was held hostage unless I paid extra after already paying 450 dollars on frames and lenses. Seemed a bit silly. I suppose I should have not purchased the frames I did get as that would have sent a better message to them regarding this. Still, I like the frames I did get.

I purchased my first pair of progressive glasses today. The service I received from Marianna was excellent. From picking out the right frame for my face, discussion about transition lens (the greatest decision I made) and advice on how to adjust to the progressive lens, made the entire experience great. Very clean store and the friendly service made this a very positive purchase. Thank you.

I would advise people to shop elsewhere for their glasses. The staff at Hakim did not inform me of the "no exchanges or returns" policy they had- either verbally or in writing. They later claimed that they had. They also told me that they had charged my insurance (in a non-refundable way), thereby leaving me little recourse but to pay the non-insured portion and accept the glasses I no longer wanted or lose the money already invested. However, once I paid my portion, they then asked me to sign an insurance form so that they could claim the money from my insurance. After complaining, I decided to sign the insurance form with the sole goal of ending my dealings with them. There are plenty of other eyeglass stores with more honest staff and better exchange policies. Consider all other alternatives before going to Hakim.

I came in looking for glasses for my girl friend, Annie the optician and Jessica were so friendly and knowledgeable that I ended up getting some for myself. I was told it would take 10-14 days to receive them but they were ready in under a week. I give the staff at Hakim a solid 5, they went above and beyond.

Terrible service at this location - such a HASSLE to get MY contacts REFUSING to order MY MUCH NEEDED PERSCRIPTION I CANNOT SEE CANNOT LEAVE THE HOUSE WITHOUT MY LENSES and they have this CASH GRAB that wastes more of my time having to make appoints EVERY 6 MONTHS ?!? With the contact lense fitter who REFUSES to let you speak to the manager , do you understand how inconvenient it is to work Monday-Friday full time and have to keep making appointments to get my contacts when literally I can take my prescription and order whatever kind of contacts I want online. That's what I'm actually going to do now. Worst service ever even contact lense fitter AT PORTAGE LOCATION same deal ALSO NO WARRENTLY ON GLASSES OR FRAMES ??! I spent $430 on glasses that hakim won't repair or replace if lost or stolen , accidentally bent the glasses after 2 weeks and pretty much straight out of luck now because hakim does not repair they glasses. $430 frames NO WARRENTY NO REPAIRS OFFERED BY HAKIM - TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE - after having problems on the phone I went in store and quietly was accepting my refund after they told me to take my business elsewhere after the lense fitter LIED saying my contact lenses were no longer produced by the manufacturer.. after making me wait close to 30 mins for a refund she had my cash right there and proceed to start an argument with me saying "so you have so much to say on the phone and now that your here you don't say anything ?" This crazy lady WANTED me to yell at her and cause a scene , sicko was smiling as I was getting upset about the service just getting off on me being angry. Then doesn't give me my money back saying now they're going to call security - THANK GOD for her blond coworker who could see what a GOOF the lense fitter was being, I told her "literally she has my money right there she just needed to give it to me and I would have left without a word but she egged me on to argue with me, I just need my money and I'll leave and never come back" the blond looks at her crazy lense fitter and says "just give her the money and they'll leave" so as gives me the money - upset her little plan to get security called and me probably banned from kildonan place mall she calls out as I'm walking away "go smoke some more meth !" Yeah okay genius since I'm a meth head that's why I have money to drive in my own car to your store and be spending over $400 on frames ans $160 on contacts TWICE ! Funny how EVERYTIME the staff act up its when the manager is NOT THERE - BIG SURPRISE - long story short worst service ever. Spent almost $$ one thousand dollars $$ here to be denied service , delayed for weeks on my prescription, and to be egged on and called a meth head by some contact lense fitter obviously dealing with some personal issues and looking for a fight at her work
