This place is awful. I drove all the way here for nothing! What a waste of time. There is very poor service, I do not recommend going here to look for glasses. They would not help me at all and they were extremely rude! NEVER going here again. I am so upset. ????

Highly recommend Towne Optical for quality professional service. I am extremely pleased with my new frames. I broke mine during the COVID Pandemic and Bill ensured that I didn’t go home without. My glasses are most essential to me. I truly appreciate how Bill went out of his way to find a pair of reasonably priced frames to fit my lenses and had them repaired in record time!

Bill, Melissa, and Co. seem to really know their stuff. My partner and I brought in two pairs of vintage glasses (one from the ~1970, and one from ~1930) for small repairs and they were able to repair them and provide us with ample information about the frames. Awesome service! I popped a lens out of my glasses and called around to a couple places in town to see about getting them fixed. Was told told by another place that I would have to book an upcoming appointment to even see if they could fix them since I didn’t buy them there. Then called Towne Optical and was told to bring them in to pop the lens in for free! The woman who I spoke to cleaned and tightened my glasses as well as popping in the lens for no charge. Very friendly as well! I will definitely be going back.

I purchased a pair of glasses. I was going to get bifocals but the quote was over $700. So I opted for normal lens which cost $400 plus. The lens were fine, the frames were very poor. Although I told the man I wanted something sturdy, he directed me to some frames which turned out to be very poor. The arms were falling off in weeks. I was in many optician's shops to get the arms re-attached and only one complained to my face. Yes, a woman at Towne Optical snapped at me, asking me if I purchased the glasses there. I wear contact lens 80% of the time so it was very discouraging that these frames literally fell apart with little wear. The arms were falling off within weeks. The main part of the frame broke within a year. It snapped at the eye just removing the glasses. My last pair of glasses (purchased in Barrie) lasted over ten years. Not so lucky with Towne. Very disappointed because I specifically asked for durable frames. The price seemed very high. The bifocal price seems incredibly high. I told a friend he was crazy when he purchased a pair of glasses over the computer without any hands on service. Guess what? He still has those glasses he paid $100 for and my $400 glasses are history.

In the middle of Covid-19 restrictions, my daughter's glasses broke and needed to be repaired. I was fortunate to reach Bill on the phone who told me to come right over. He took every precaution to maintain physical distance, meeting me in the parking lot and taking the glasses into the store to examine them. He was able to make the repair while I waited and in 30 minutes I was on my way with my daughter's glasses. Thanks Bill!

You will never be disappointed by visiting Bill, owner of Towne Optical on the Queensway in Peterborough. I had the humble privilege of meeting him earlier this year, by appointment, to repair my glasses that I accidentally knelt on. The place where I purchased my glasses were not operating at that time and recommended Towne Optical. After sending a few photos, Bill was confident that he could repair them and he did. He did a marvellous job and the frames are probably stronger than from the manufacturer because of the repair. He also touched up the paint to give them a polished look. I was very happy with them. My frames recently needed to be tightened again and I chose to contact Bill once more. Again he was willing to see me right away. The reason I chose to go back to Towne Optical was because at least once per month I would need to go back to where I purchased my glasses to get them tightened. When Bill fixed my frames the first time they lasted almost an entire year! Bottom line, he does it better than anyone else. He explained that when you purchase a pair of glass from Towne Optical, you get free expert, quality service for life. I went to Towne Optical as I had heard such wonderful things. I walked in and right away Melissa knew what frames would look good on me. They had 2 or 3 picked out. I selected the ones I liked and they said those were the ones they thought I would pick. I got transition glasses that have anti glare and tint on them. These glasses fit better than any other pair I have had. I highly recommend going and getting the same kind of treatment I recieved . Fast courteous polite and so friendly! Call and see what they can do for you.... Being from Peterborough it's nice to see that we still have the personal care we need when picking out something we will have for many years andk knowing they are there to continue to help.
