I had been looking for a place that carries modern styles and came across NYO, I stepped through the door and was greeted by friendly faces and offered a coffee! The staff there were super helpful and efficient. I was expecting to order a pair and pick up in a week or two, but they happened to have the frames in stock JUST happened to be able to do the lenses up onsite in 40 minutes! I couldn't have asked for a better experience, and I can't recommend this place and the staff more!

Moved here from the city got a pair of sunglasses. I have never had such good service in my life what a great group that works here. Very well priced and not cheap with any supplies. Will be back and continue to be a customer. :)

I was at Neil Young Optical this week because my eye glasses (bought elsewhere) needed repair. I was very impressed at the time and effort that was put into the repair. And they neither asked for or accepted any payment for the service. While I was waiting I discovered the staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. All their clients are respected and well treated. I am on holidays and do not live in the area. If I lived nearby this is definitely where I would come to have my eyeglasses prescriptions filled.

I think it has to be over 15 years ago I purchased my first pair of glasses from Neil Young. The current pair I am wearing still look great ... I had several comments on them over the past few weeks ... I bought them 10 years ago! Have only had the lens changed since and a small weld repair and moved to Alberta 8 years ago. Neil has so much heart. I miss dropping in just to chat and say hello!

Really disappointed in my experience at this business recently. Attended the business as a perspective customer who needed 2 pairs of glasses and ready to spend $$$ ... I made a 9:30 am appointment and was left waiting outside of locked doors for 15 minutes... Once the customer left, I was welcomed in by a very abrupt woman (Covid Cathy) who rudely told me that I need to wear a mask or stay outside. I advised her that I was medically exempt and without being able to finish my sentence I was told that "I don't care and if you don't put on a mask then you have to leave." (Keep in mind that the store was empty except for 2 employees, who were clearly socially distanced and wearing masks) She was in a fighting mood and even though I attempted to explain myself she demanded I put on a mask or leave....So I asked her for a mask .... she handed me a mask without cleaning her hands or using sanitizer ... then told me to step outside to put it on .... At that point I left and told them I will take my business elsewhere.... Why in the world would I spend one penny with NYO after being disrespected like that? Interesting point .... I went around the corner to Hakim Optical and had zero problem with them ...they welcomed me in and even gave me a better deal than I would have received at NYO Young's Optical. Neil, I would recommend customer sensitivity training for your front of store staff. There are nice ways of communicating a message to customers but your staff member was very combative ... felt like I was attacked for simply coming into your business.

Took my 8 year old in over two weeks ago to get glasses. This place told us two to three days for glasses. They would not return phone calls or keep us updated on when they would be ready. Finally got to talk with someone that was supposed to know what was going on. He had no idea. Had to call multiple times to get an answer. Turns out they are back ordered for weeks. Would have been nice to know so we could have gone elsewhere to get my son his glasses that he needs. So if you would like to go somewhere where all they care about is getting your money, this is definitely the place to go.

First time being there and my husband felt soo good about the place. Neil was soo helpful. Couldn't believe how he came out and helped my husband get into the place. My husband had surgery on his back and using a walker Neil came out and helped him in and out. What a kind man. We felt soo good when we left their place. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.
