I unfortunately cannot remember the name of the doctor to whom I saw at Lensemakers (as this was roughly two years ago), nor if she still even works there but I cannot say my experience here was very good. Initially they were very polite over the phone, the prices seemed to be fair and so I decided to utilize their services. Upon going in with my mom I was at first greeted kindly but that tapered off when I was alone with the doctor. I could not quite understand what she was asking me to describe (as this was my first eye exam in quite some time and I had no idea what to expect) and she seemed to get more and more frustrated as the appointment went on and wouldn't elaborate to ease my confusion. This in turn only served to make me more anxious and feel quite stupid. The service improved once we were out and in front of my mom again, and she decided that I needed custom lenses for a mild astigmatism and farsightedness. Frames were picked and lenses were installed and I ended up paying $200. There is a problem with this. I do not, according to the doctor whom I spoke with today, need custom glasses. My eyesight is in fact OVER 20/20. The difficulties that I have had have been to do with EYE STRAIN, as I illustrate a lot which, of course, taxes my eyes. This can be rectified while I'm drawing with readers at the absolute lowest prescription of 1.25+, FAR less expensive than custom glasses and something that I do NOT need to wear all the time, as was reccomended, and most certainly not for distance. I am grateful that I never got into the habit of wearing these as anything other than readers, as it just never felt right somehow, and then stopped wearing them completely when they gave me migraines. I would recommend very strongly against using this place. Perhaps this could have been rectified at the beginning had I been able to understand what exactly I was supposed to be seeing but the doctor never made an attempt to elaborate or to put me at ease, and her demeanor was such that I frankly didn't feel comfortable asking her to elaborate. Either way I was either scammed or misdiagnosed, and neither feels good. At least they sent me away with free eyeglass cleaner solution, which is refillable. If you're in the area I would suggest Shuswap Optical in Salmon Arm off the Trans-Can HWY. Exemplary service front and back, all smiles and very gentle, especially when I was getting anxious with them as I tend to do. The cost of the exam I believe is roughly the same at $109.00 if you're between 19-65, and they suggested I bring $300 just so we could be certain everything from frames to lenses was covered, should I have decided to get frames there. Mr. Alloway, the doctor I saw, also had a very handsome set of oxfords. Should I need to get my eyes checked again I would not hesitate going back there.

Personal indifference’s, can’t shop or support this Business anymore. I may have attitude, I apologized for any misunderstandings or confusion created on my part and I left it at that. I won’t shop at either Armstrong or Vernon Lensmaker Optical ever again. Edit Oct. 17,2020 Doesn’t pay to voice concerns because I feel I’m getting the run around? On my first new lens ordered 1 wouldn’t fit so had to reorder new lens in, waited a week for that. Went in today to pick up new Glass’s cause they were ready only to find out they ordered the wrong lens in (Reading glasses) so now have to wait another 7/10 days to reorder new Distance lens? Their mistake, its not costing me anything just inconvenient having to wait for my Glass’s. Most unprofessional. Grown adults acting like children, holding grudges, being petty. If you’ve been in the Optometrist profession for xxx number of years you should be able to read a lens prescription? Some of the older Staff should think about retiring or changing professions, if you’re not happy at your work place then move on. Trying times as it is with Covid 19, no need to make it worse.

Excellent! Lost my glass yesterday, spoke to my Optometrist about replacing them.... he said “very unlikely would you get them soon with the current state of affairs”. Went to LensCrafters/Canadian Lensmakers at Aberdeen Mall right after seeing the Optometrist and “PRESTO” they said I could pick them up this afternoon. We’re talking mere hours here! A big thank you goes to Devon Martiens and his partner Mary for helping the impossible happen! A big CANDO and WELL DONE to this team.

Before purchasing my glasses, I visited every store and town and revisited this store because I felt this store had the widest variety of brands. They had my first pair of glasses ready within a couple hours. My second pair was ordered in free of charge. They bill directly to Pacific Blue Cross.

This is your typical small town friendly, super helpful and knowledgeable shop! Love supporting this local shop. And Dr. Parker in the next door office is brilliant and thorough. All four of us in the family wear glasses and they have repaired so many of our broken arms and popped out lenses - a couple times they fixed them on the spot when my son's "back-up, back-up" glasses got sat on for the thousandth time. They have a smaller inventory of glasses then some of the bigger shops but the prices are good and they stock trendy frames. Highly recommend ????

Wow, I'm extremely impressed and pleased with my experience. First of all, no other glass store was open on Easter Monday, they were, it was great to hear a helpful voice answer the phone after frustratingly trying multiple other stores. I headed over immediately to discuss in person. Second, I had a very unique situation that I was visiting Kamloops for an extended work trip, and desperately needed to fill a difficult perscription. The staff assessed the perscription before even considering selling me frames, to confirm they could make it. Once confirmed, they helped review frame options that would work with my perscription (thick lenses). They stayed right until the mall closed to fill the Rx to try to get me seeing again that day but unfortunately the lenses had a very slight but noticeable defect. They released them to me but stressed that this is not the level of quality they wish to provide and asked me to return the following day so they would have more time to try a different material. Once the new lenses were ready the following day, as promised, I received a call to bring my frames back to swap the lenses, at no charge. The final product was slightly thinner, which was unexpected and a bonus! No defect this time of course... The glasses turned out perfect, I was very surprised and grateful that they were able to help me through my difficult situation!

When to an optometrist, and renewed my prescription and needed glasses asap, walked in the lensmakers store, services was friendly, welcoming and comparatively the price was good. I had the glasses in my hands in 1 h. Constructive criticism is that there's no on site optometrist, and a minimum selection of frames.

Been dealing with Lensmakers since 2009. Great service and selection. Sure you can by glasses cheaper on the internet and in big box stores, but the service here is worth every penny ( or should I say nickel as we don't have pennies anymore).

Thanks to the staff at Lensmakers, Aberdeen Mall for being so sincere in helping me with my problem of a broken glass frame. Several other businesses elsewhere had said they couldnt do anything for me. I left Lenscrafters with a new frame, glass cleaner, a glasss case and , once again, happy eyes. Initially I just dropped by with a question as I was nearby. My experience was so positive I've since purchased glasses here and referred a couple of other people here. One of my referrals was for a rush job that they were very responsive to and dealt with quickly. I was also present when a homeless fellow came in needing help with his glasses and they did their best to help him out with a compassion I was pleased to see. The staff are welcoming, accommodating, helpful and genial. Doesn't hurt that they actually seem to like one other and their jobs. Prices for services and glasses are on par with most other locations.

You see, the staff are friendly. The optometrists are thorough and kind. The prices are reasonable and their business hours are convenient. This is by far the most pleasant vision experience I've ever had. I've been a customer of theirs for 3 years now. Since I discovered them and don't plan on switching. And not once has one of them tried to tweak the focus dial behind my ear. They understand the sensitivity and private nature of of my focus dials.

I sensed something was fishy when I walked in. Could have just left but my fault. I walked in there and asked for same lense thickness and nothing to be altered to my prescription. But they went ahead and added more thickness to my lenses and charged me for something I didn't ask for and I hate thick lenses. Ask if they could get it fixed and was told it would charge more to fix it. My worst $170 buck I have ever spent in my entire life. Bad customer service. Never going back. Avoid this place at all costs if you want value for your buck!!

While visiting Kamloops from California I broke my glasses, took them to Lensmakers where Devon repaired them.. Also, my wife asked to have her glasses adjusted, Mary put on smaller pads and adjusted them. Mary and Devon were so helpful and it made our visit much more enjoyable. It took them Under 30 minutes to get the lenses for my glasses cut and installed (opposed to the 1-6 weeks most places take). And they did it a very reasonable price. To top it off they also direct billed to my healthcare plan. I don't think It's ever been as easy as this for me to get my prescription updated. This place is the hidden gem of glasses in Vernon.

Bought glasses here 2 times before,,,just got a new pair,,,as I work all week got my wife to bring in my glasses,,,,,the lens on one side doesn't fit into the frame,they said it was because my eye sight changed a lot,,,funny there optometrist said my eyes were better than before yet the glass is way thicker,the lens is deformed,,,this time very poor workmanship,I probably will never got back,glasses are nice but service this time is very poor,had to give 1 star to share my experience

Pushy salesman who made us feel uncomfortable. He removed my glasses from my face without asking and tried to force me to try on several frames before giving back my glasses, even after asking for them back. He also kinda trapped us in a corner and then ouod not let us leave without trying on glasses we already told him we didn't want. DON'T BOTHER COMING TO THIS PLACE!
