Believe me with a young child in the house we've had to use the warranty many times, no questions ever asked with in the first year. I went in for a eye exam because i was worried about my sight because i felt like i was having difficulty seeing/focusing my sight. I knew going in there was a good chance that i was over thinking it but i rather be sure about my eye sight and health. Turned out i was over thinking it and my eyes are in excellent condition and not a single person made me feel stupid about it. They reassured me about my eye health. My experience was great, and that the optometric assistant John, handled exam amazingly. I was very comfortable and will definitely be back for my next exam!

Fantastic experience! The tests were completed quickly though thoroughly. My eyes did not get all confused and tired from all the long tests like I had in other places. Ultimately the prescription I got was bang on! It took me a few days to get used to my glasses (I'd never worn any before), but now I really really like them. I can see much more easily and my eyes don't get tired as easily! I have been busy all weekend long lowering my font sizes on my work and personal computers! ????

Ken Lantz, who manages the IRIS optometry store here in Kelowna, went so far above and beyond in the service he provided to me recently that I simply must share the story. While the store that had sold me my eyeglasses just 2 short years ago had totally blown me off and did what can only be described as next to nothing, Ken instead stepped up and brought in the replacement part I needed and did it insanely quickly. In less than 3 business days he had ordered, received, and installed the replacement temple piece and fitted them to my face. Plus he did it all with a smile and a jovial disposition. There is no doubt who I will be using in the future, and I highly recommend Ken and the whole team at IRIS

Not only have I received the best glasses I’ve ever had, I also received the best service! They were very patient and honest about what frames paired well with my face and what colors as well. I had a certain pair in mind but Charmaine was amazing and helped me pick a pair that was more sophisticated and elegant for interviews, but not so much that it took away from my youthful age. You never feel like you are receiving any less than 100% of their attention and care. Would recommend to everyone to at least browse and see what they have!

Since that time, I have been continually bombarded with spam mails promoting Ray Ban sun glasses. If you want your spam folder to be flooded with total junk, wait until "Iris" offers you a freebe... You'll pay for it... Thank goodness my ISP understands that the Ray Ban adverts are totally bogus...

I would recommend Iris whole-heartedly. I needed an eye exam before purchasing glasses, and Dr. Langer was so informative and professional. He answered my questions thoroughly and I didn't feel rushed. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, and informed me of a new type of lenses (Home and Office) that I am excited to try. I didn't feel pressured to buy glasses there; they explained what they had available and gave me a price sheet breaking down costs of various combinations. Having left my glasses at home on evacuation because of the fires, they provided me a new pair of replacement ones at 50% off. Thank you, staff of Iris Vernon.

Today, I put on a new pair of glasses, and for the first time in...somewhere along the lines of eight years or more, I stopped seeing double. Dr. Nikolet took the time to properly and exactly find the adjustment needed to correct the diplopia caused by strabismus in my left eye. I have been impressed by Iris in the past, but this time they have gone way beyond the call. You will not regret getting your glasses from these folks. Update: Went to a 3D movie the other day, and I was actually able to watch in 3D!

I was a bit hesitant coming in to the IRIS Eye Centre at first because I thought it would be too expensive. Charmaine and then Mary were incredibly helpful and got me exactly what I needed. I love my new glasses and they fit perfectly. I can see so much better and the transition lenses are amazing. I would recommend anyone to come and see Mary at IRIS. She is very customer oriented and together we found the right frames and more importantly the right lenses. Went in and had an appointment with Brad who did a thorough job and spent extra time explaining what I was experiencing (astigmatism). I hadn't had much experience at an Optometrist so it was nice he took the extra time to help me understand. Since obtaining a prescription and getting glasses - no more headaches/tired eyes and everything is clear and a game changer. We drove from London to Kitchener because the Iris store closed in London and we were a little perturbed that we had to drive an hour in order to fulfill the warranty on my husbands glasses. We had the best service ever! Robyn was informed that we had called prior to our coming so she spoke to the manager, Darren, who filled her in what we needed. When we arrived in Kitchener, Robyn was very helpful and prepared to help us. Darren was great as the manager because he met our needs and accommodated us so that we wouldn't have to make too many trips back into Kitchener. We drove back a week later and both Robyn and Darren were working and it was such a pleasure to actually meet Darren and see Robyn again. The customer service was top notch! We felt very welcomed and the employees were very professional and empathetic to our long drive to Kitchener. It was great knowing they listened to our needs and met every single one of them. Thank you so much again Darren and Robyn for excellent customer service!! I would shop at Iris any day of the week!!!

I have dealt with IRIS for a number of years. I have fairly complex vision needs and have found IRIS to be very stress free because of the warranty on their products. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and I always feel comfortable. I used to go to my Ophthalmologist to get my eyes tested. I now use IRIS end to end, I have that much trust in them. I feel cheated. My initial visits were due to a possible eye infection\problem after getting sand in my eye. This led to months of unanswered results - which I understand my case was difficult to solve. However, each visit with the same complaints of burning eyes, one eye feeling swollen, can't function day to day properly, I was repeatedly given a new prescription for new glasses and pushed to get new contacts and glasses - with my eyes still causing discomfort. After 3 mo of eye problems I gave in and purchased new glasses with a new prescription because I was told it could be eye strain. Chronic headaches set in, inability to work or even drive. I was referred to a clinic elsewhere where I was diagnosed with severe dry eye (meibography confirmed barely any glands left) and seborrhea blepharitis. Turns out my prescription was done while my eyes were inflamed and very dry - which is ridiculous because it's near impossible to keep your eyes open when your eyes hurt and no lubrication - makes things blurry. My new Dr and I got me on a plan that got me back on track and turns out my prescription did not change. I asked IRIS to replace the faulty lenses and they refused, but did offer me a discount. I LOVE my glasses, I paid $480 for them and CANNOT wear them because the Dr's in this office gave me a prescription that I literally CANNOT SEE WITH. I thought it only fair that they switch my lenses back to my old prescription, I was not asking for a refund as I love my glasses purchased. I'm $480 out of pocket, not to mention the HUNDREDS of dollars spent on the exam, products they sell and prescription medications. So, I would not recommend this branch unfortunately.

I had an excellent experience here! They were super-friendly, relaxed, great with my kids (ages range from 3-10 years old), and they were exceptionally patient with me. All told I think I was in there eight times and they seemed happy to see me every time. The warranty on the glasses here is amazing! I didn’t take enough time to pick my first pair of glasses and very much disliked them, including how unclear they seemed. After almost two weeks they double-checked my vision test free of charge and let me pick a new pair of frames, also free of charge! There ended up being nothing wrong with my initial vision test, it had to do with the frames I picked. I love my newest pair of glasses and they’re beautifully clear. We will go here every time.

My experience as a customer here were exceptional. I have been to a handful of Iris locations, and this by far is my favourite place. Associate Noel helped me choose glasses, and we were able to narrow it down from fifteen glasses to two pairs. Noel gave me his honest opinion, and feedback which I appreciated it greatly. Once I chose the the style I liked out of the two; he was there during the ordering process, called me when they were in, adjusted my new glasses, and previous ones as well. Every-time I came in, Noel washed my glasses as well. Noel followed up on how I was doing with my glasses after two weeks of owning my new pair of glasses. Of all the glasses I owned in life, this is my favourite. Jessica, Elisha, and Noel all helped me when I had questions or and concerns, they all serviced my glasses, and tended to all my needs and request. All the Associates were kind, gentle, friendly, patient, responsive, and respectful towards me who is a visible minority with a disability. Dr. Ryan Trottier, the optometrist at this location was very diligent with his work during the whole eye exam. He had my best interest in mind. I like that Dr. Ryan Trottier, is soft spoken, caring, gentle, friendly, and very respectful. Lastly he was able to let me know what is going to happen every step of the way. This is my first public review, and in itself it says a lot. I highly recommend anyone who is looking to purchase a new pair of glasses, and or need a eye exam to go here. This is the place, you will not regret it!

I was going to post a bad review but my recent experience completely changed my mind for the better. Last year I had a standard eye exam with Dr. Clark. I remember him being friendly and the appointment went well. After receiving a pair of glasses that I ordered online, I noticed there was an error on my prescription (+4.50 rather than -4.50). I incurred $86.36 in additional cost for reprocessing of my lenses and shipping to/from the merchant. I sent an email to Dr. Clark explaining this and expecting some sort of defensiveness/resistance. Within minutes he contacted me and provided a full reimbursement for the additional cost that I incurred. It was an honest mistake that Dr. Clark and the clinic made right, no questions asked. I will go out of my way to get my next eye exam with Dr. Clark. Thank you!

I have been a patient of Dr. Blanchard for 30 years. I have always had great service and my experience today picking out and buying my new glasses was exceptional. I have always bought my frames and contacts from them as well. They have great selection, top brands and competitive pricing, and I like being able to go in for an adjustment, and get that personalized service. Today when I went in to pick up frames for my old glasses that had broke but were covered under warranty (which was amazing) I wanted to "look" at new frames, and have been avoiding the change over from single vision to progressive lenses. After getting guided by Lina I bought a new pair of frames and lenses, and am positive I made the right choice, after being presented with all the available options. She really listened to me and showed me the options that best suited me and my current needs. She took special note of what I would be using the glasses for with regard to both the look and functionality I wanted. I felt like she took personal pride and ownership in me and wanted me to be thrilled with my glasses and that they would suit my needs perfectly. By asking clarifying questions and not making assumptions she exceeded my expectations and I am happy to recommend her to anyone shopping for glasses/frames. She was also very knowledgable about progressive lenses, various lens options, matching the right frame to the face andwhat's in style.

Here is why no one wants to shop downtown: I checked google and their website, no mention of appointment only, so off I went...you get there, pay for parking, get to Iris and the sign at the door says no walk in - you read the sign as homeless people harass you. There is only the staff inside playing on her phone. I call, mention that I'm only shopping (no eye exam) and I still cannot go in. 10 minutes later, there is still no clients inside the store. I could by then have at least looked to see if there were any styles that interested me and then I could book an appointment to try some glasses on... I walked at Costco and LensCrafters and did not have this issue.

Put your seatbelts on, because you're gonna hear a wild story about how Iris, and Dr. Clark, are amazing. June 2016, I went into Iris for my routine eye exam. Dr. Clark has been my optometrist for a long time now, because he is super personable and just generally amazing. ANYWAYS, this eye exam had results that were less than stellar. My optic disk was super swollen, and generally that is a giant no-no in terms of your eye health. So Dr. Clark referred me to an ophthalmologist, who then referred me to a neurologist, whom did a bunch of tests. 31 days after my eye exam, I was diagnosed with a rare neurological condition called Idiopathic Intercranial Hypertension. "What does this have to do with Dr. Clark?" you say, I can hear it. I had been seeing my family doctor for months about the migraines and headaches associated with this then unknown condition. All I got were prescriptions for heavy duty anti-inflammatories and orders to take a nap. Now, Dr. Clark shops at my work. Every time he saw me, he would ask how I was doing and what they were doing about it. The rest of my family sees him for optometry, and he would ask them how I was as well. He truly cares about your wellbeing in and outside his clinic chair. Dr. Clark paved the way for me to get my life back with this condition, something that I had been pressing for for months prior to my exam. One year after my exam, and I'm doing SO much better. Dr. Clark set the bar for me to now live a (mostly) pain free life. Absolutely nothing can quantify how thankful I am for that. So in conclusion, Dr. Clark is a wonderful man who truly cares about his patients. The rest of the staff are equally as great, especially Sara (I think that's her name! The super nice blonde one with always perfect winged eyeliner). She is super bright and bubbly, like a can of ice cold Sprite.

We just returned from picking out glasses at Iris's downtown Nanaimo location! We originally visited their Woodgrove Mall store but once it closed, despite living in the North End, we have travelled to the South End and continuing to shop there! My daughter has needed a new pair of glasses every couple years so we've purchased a fair few, and every single time, we have had the best experience. The staff are so friendly and helpful, the store has always been clean and organized, and we've never ever been rushed. In fact, the time before today, we probably spent at least an hour or 2 trying on numerous frames and everyone was great the entire time. We love Iris, and how well we are treated there... Here’s the thing. Iris Waterloo has an excellent selection of glasses. However, over the years there has been such a turnover of staff, we never know if we are going to get superb service at mediocre. Yesterday, we had superb service with Johnathon Salazar like we Have in the past. However, over the past year we had a concern with a pair of glasses that cost over $1,000 and the paint on the frames was wearing almost immediately. We were told there was nothing to be done. Both of us needed glasses and thought we would give Iris another shot, but we were prepared to walk out if the service sucked or if the store would not stand behind their products. Johnathon addressed the previous concern and that motivated me to upgrade my first pair of progressive lenses to platinum. Iris is an excellent retail space, but they need to clone Johnathon or ensure that staff have a consistent training program. These glasses are not budget.

Worst experience EVER! Do not use them. They (staff) are as cold and sterile as a block of ice. I waited 10 years to get my eyes examined and glasses ordered. I had the money to pay for the exam, but they refused to serve me with l owing my inaurance(which doesn't cover the exam) and I kept telling him and he wouldn't listen. He played dumb and he lost my business. Do NOT use them. Go to a reputable vendor.

I totally recommend the Iris - Nanaimo downtown location. The online eye exam appointment booking form was easy to navigate and my eye exam was very thorough! Afterwards, I wanted to try on a lot of different frame styles and the lovely staff that helped me was very patient and recommended all sort that suited my preferences. We narrowed it down to two styles but I wanted to see a specific colour combo on one - which was not a problem at all! They ordered it in and I was able to try them on as well during another appointment while another wonderful staff member was patient with me as I went back-and-forth with my decision. I'm very excited to get my new glasses soon and will definitely be back to buy more frames in the future.

Had a wonderful experience at this IRIS location! Detailed review to follow: I previously went to see Dr. Netty Sutjaho in Mayfair Mall. The location closed in the mall, and she moved to the downtown location. I was given cards in the mail notifying me of this and some coupons to use. I decided to book an eye exam, since I haven’t done one for about 2 years. The staff at this location are extremely helpful and friendly. Plus, they like to get to know you as well! It was a very personalized experience. I decided it was time to get prescription sunglasses. Nicole showed me a few styles, and we ended up picking the first choice that she recommended! She has a good eye for knowing what may suit your face shape, style, etc. Nicole did the best she could to get me the best deal, I was so happy! It was a fun experience shopping with her. When I got the prescription sunglasses, I noticed there was a blemish in the corner of the lense when I would put it on and looked in the mirror. It was only noticeable to my eye, the lenses were polarized. I wore it for a few days as I wasn’t sure if I should bother getting it fixed if it wasn’t visible to anyone else but myself. Sure enough, I went for a follow up eye appointment (dilation, contact lense fitting). First thing that Dr. Netty and Nicole did, was they took my prescription sunglasses and checked it for the blemish. They put the sunglasses in every angle to try to view what I was talking about. They ended up putting the sunglasses on the side up against the monitor and it was visible! They sent it back to Nikon for a replacement. They do everything to make their customers happy and they have a great warranty on their products. After this, I wanted to upgrade my eyeglasses to another pair as I was constantly viewing screens and the blue light filter would be beneficial for me. I work in an office and also on devices a lot (phone, tv, laptop for studying, etc). I got a call from IRIS saying my sunglasses were ready. When I got in, Nicole surprised me and said both my sunglasses and eyeglasses were ready. I brought my sister with me, and Nicole worked her magic by adjusting my sisters sunglasses as they were falling down her face. They fit much better now! Overall, I would highly recommend this place! The entire staff is amazing and personable. They answered all questions that I had throughly. For the previous reviewers that had poor experiences, I’d suggest that you make it the experience you want it to be. If you’re not sure of something, ask! They are happy to explain things to you, and give you no pressure to buy anything. I couldn’t say enough good things. Go check them out!

I saw Dr. Amir Anoushehpour and he was clear about what he was doing throughout the appointment and explained the science behind what he was doing. He was transparent about my rights to my information which I didn't have with past optometrists. Dr. Anoushehpour was cheerful and had funny anecdotes throughout the appointment. Great Experience I had been unable to read small print for a couple of years and finally decided it was time to have my eyes checked. I chose Iris because it was in my community and was very happy with my decision. Dr. Christian Nanini, Optometrist examined my eyes and took the time to explain what was going on with them. He showed me an image of my eyes on a computer program and in layman terms explained what was going on. He also took the time to answer all my questions. What a great doctor Dr Nanini is. It came time to choose my frames and Cathy in customer service was so patient, helpful and gave me the time I needed to make my decision. They also had a good selection of frames to choose from. As an added bonus they do take direct payment if you have happen to private insurance. I would highly recommend Iris to anyone looking for a vision care clinic.

My experience with the IRIS team was fantastic from beginning to end. I hadn't had my eyes examined in years and knew I'd likely be needing glasses, so I was a little nervous. To start from the top, the team members who booked (and rebooked) my appointment were a complete delight between walking me through their COVID protocols (which are excellent, so rest easy on that count if you're nervous) and helping me rebook my appointment when I had to move it unexpectedly. At my appointment, the person - whose name I'm sorry to say I didn't catch - who took me through the first round of tests was very knowledgeable and efficient but still approachable and kind. She took the time to talk me through what each test was and what to expect, and the process was smooth, easy, and pleasant. Dr. Parikh saw me just a few minutes later, and was also very friendly and efficient. The examination was thorough and genuinely stress-free. He explained everything he was doing, and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. He listened attentively to everything I said throughout our appointment, and went out of his way to explain all of his conclusions and recommendations in easy-to-understand ways. Finally, the associate who guided me through the glasses selection process before I left was great as well. She listened carefully to my preferences, assessed my sense of style, and nailed it right off the bat, immediately pulling three pairs of glasses that I loved despite working off of pretty minimal input from me, as I've never worn glasses before and didn't have much to contribute. She was also very thorough in explaining the benefits of purchasing and the warranty system IRIS offers for their glasses (both excellent, by the way) but there was no hard-sell pressure whatsoever. Overall, I truly could not be more delighted with my experience with IRIS and the IRIS team from the moment I called to book my appointment to walking out the door with my prescription. If you're looking for eye and vision care in Oshawa, do not hesitate to book with IRIS. You'll be glad you did.

I have been going to Iris for a number of years and have found the staff to be friendly and Dr. Julie to be very good. I recently posted a comment in which I stated that when I had difficulty with lenses a few years ago, my concerns had not been addressed, with the result that when I again experienced difficulty with recent new lenses, I did not go to the store, but posted my dissatisfaction here instead. My problem: When choosing options for my new lenses, the assistant had been very adamant that all the coatings I was choosing would still leave me seeing naturally. This proved to be false, and my new lenses give the world a decidedly dull and yellowish tinge, which I find acutely disturbing. After having posted here, I received a phone call immediately and the assistant I spoke with was polite, listened to my concern and is ordering me new lenses without the coating that makes things yellowish. While it is true that this coating might be better for my eyes, it is also true that it negatively affects my sense of well being. I pointed out that I was concerned about the information being given to others as well. It is one thing to choose yellowish vision in order to protect one's eyes, but quite another to choose clear vision and find it is actually yellow-ish. She assured me this would be dealt with so that clients would receive the right information in helping them to make choices. I am very pleased to say here that Iris is ordering me a new set of lenses without the so-called "blue" coating and will refund me the cost of the coating. Thanks, Iris!

Superb Service!!! I do not normally heap exuberant praise, but in the case of IRIS Optical in North Vancouver, it is well deserved. My Silhouette frame/glasses, which I had obtained from this IRIS location four years ago, broke at the bridge, and is no longer under warranty. I was already resigned to the fact that I may have to pay a considerable amount to have it fixed, given that Silhouette is an ultra-premium brand. Gissou, who manages the shop in North Vancouver and who has been attending to me as optician since 2016, replaced with remarkable skill and efficiency, the bridge using one from an older Silhouette frame that I had kept. Gissou also fixed another pair of Silhouettes (a spare), which frame was already bent, by switching hardware with an older pair of Silhouettes. When she found out that the bridge of the older pair was no longer usable, she creatively found a stock spare from the store's inventory. I was very comfortable paying for the services rendered, which was quite extensive, but Gissou declined my offer. For her, it was a humble gesture of goodwill. This very kind courtesy ensures that I will be loyal customer for as long a I need glasses! My kudos extend also to the Silhouette brand for the unexpected ability of its hardware to be virtually interchangeable, as long as they are in the same product line. Gissou, thank you so much for the incomparable service you rendered. You, together with your friendly, pleasing demeanour, are a hallmark of distinguished client service !

I have been a long time customer of Iris and I have always been happy with the service I received until this past interaction. This has little to do with the people who work at Iris and nothing to do with Dr. Gibb but more with it's policies and Nikon. I wanted new lenses in my existing frames that I had previously purchased from Iris and so they had the frame information in their database. However, after two attempts and two visits back to Iris, Nikon could not get the shape right to fit. I asked for a refund because it was proving to be too much going back and forth and I wanted to pursue other options. This is when I was told by Iris that their policy does not allow refunds. My only option was to give them my frames, at my own risk, and have them sent to Nikon or in store credit. I didn't like their current stock and so I begrudgingly gave them my frames but expressed my dislike over their no refund policy because I had not received a product and Nikon kept getting it wrong, making me liable. In my opinion this is fraudulent. Then, the icing on the cake, I get a call from Iris telling me that Nikon broke my frames. The options I was given was to go in and purchase a new set of frames at my expense and have lenses put in that I already paid for which means I am spending more money than intended or only now they were willing to give me a refund on my lenses but I would be without my glasses. No discounts were offered, no accountability from Nikon, everything fell to me the customer. I took the refund. I will no longer be shopping at Iris. I will find another company with better policies. Buyer beware!

For years I would get my eye exam at the same optometrist at a different Iris location. However, after purchasing glasses and sunglasses using that prescription, the glasses were all wrong and I couldn't wear them as they hurt my eyes and were so uncomfortable. One day there happened to be a different optometrist at the clinic, it was Dr. Jhutty. I was actually skeptical to have a different optometrist but went ahead with the exam anyway. The results of her exam were different than before. I ordered some glasses with the new prescription and finally they felt so comfortable to wear!! I now only want to get my eye exam done by Dr. Jhutty, so I even drove 30 minutes see her! Fariba and Maria were also very friendly, helpful and patient in helping me pick out a frame :)

I am very disappointed with my experience at IRIS Waterloo. I needed new glasses, and found a pair that I really liked there. Jonathan provided great customer service; however I cannot say the same for the rest of the company. I could not order my glasses that day, because the Ministry of Health would be paying part of the fee for my lenses, which required authorization. This is a standard process, which all eyewear companies have the knowledge for how to complete. There is an unfortunate stigma associated with ODSP however, and it was disheartening that the IRIS employees became rude and apathetic when they found out that I would not be paying the full amount myself. Instead of letting me know the outstanding balance that I would need to cover after the Ministry deduction, they chose not to proceed with the order unless I paid the full cost up front and suggested that I could ask to be reimbursed by ODSP afterwards. The Ministry of Health does not reimburse individuals, only companies. Practices like this are discriminatory. My sister also called in several times over the course of July, and there was always an excuse why the order could not be processed. In her final conversation, the manager told her that IRIS would not receive enough money from the Ministry. I did not come into IRIS looking for a discount. I came in looking for glasses and IRIS would have received the full amount quoted for the glasses if they had chosen to provide non-judgemental customer service. I have since found glasses at Vogue Optical where the customer service and selection were great. I will not be returning to IRIS in the future, based on customer service. Hopefully, they can learn from this, and treat all individuals as rightful customers.

I was in looking at Sunglasses when my wife was having her eye exam. I said to the woman helping me that the laser surgery I had 10 years ago was the best thing I ever did. She replied to me by telling me, "well you will just end up with cataracts because of it though." Not, you have an increased chance, not that you should keep an eye on it, but that I WILL end up with them. Not something I appreciate to hear, as this is unprofessional, and she is unqualified to make such statements. She was also very preachy about how I should raise my child without access to handheld screens until they are a teenage. I'm glad that the glasses were $100 more than anywhere else and I did not buy from them. When I called in later telling them I was no longer interested in the glasses and that I did not like the way I was spoken to. The woman on the phone just replied, "ok", and did not seem to care in the slightest. It's a shame since the Optometrist is great. But this place is overpriced, and you aren't getting the service quality to back it up.

Very mixed feelings after purchasing my first pair of glasses. The people were friendly, but I was left with some heavy buyer's remorse. I was showed four different brands and no word was said about price differences until glasses were picked and sized and we were feeling on our way. That plus the fact that my repeated statements of needing heavy filters on my glasses for medical reasons seemed to not be taken seriously enough. I should have thanked them, taken the quote, and headed out the door! But I was feeling rushed and my little one was hungry and impatient. The blame lays on me and I will look elsewhere in the future.

Stopped in to look for some glasses, there were no other customers but the staff seemed annoyed that I came in. When I asked about men's frames i was told they were all unisex, right .. unisex juicy couture. When I approached the counter to show the model and style I was looking for I was told they don't carry that brand, no alternate suggestions or attempt at being helpful. I work retail, and i know you can have a bad day, but you still need to make an effort. The owners of this company need to know they have a serious customer service issue.

I had a negative experience at this location. From the moment the staff saw me, they started speaking to me in a foreign language, assumed I am Persian when I am not, then acted surprised and confused when I said I could not understand. Instead of simply saying sorry and letting it go, one woman demanded to know my origin, while another woman stood there defensively, as if I owed them an explanation. After I told them my background, they seemed irritated/offended that they were wrong, and walked off. Then I noticed them talking loudly/arguing with a third woman in their language, clearly about me as they were staring and gesturing in my direction. I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome, and did not appreciate this unprofessional and pretentious behaviour.

This is the BEST optical place that I have ever visited. I was losing my sight in one of my eyes and I was very worried. I was given an appointment immediately, and the optomitrist found the issue quickly and reassured me that I would not lose my sight. He was right! The quality of products is excellent. The service is unsurpassed by any other optical place. Friendly staff, prompt and efficient service, are but a few of the compliments that I can give. I return for adjustments regularly, as my dog usually puts them out of adjustment, and I am always greeted as if I were a member of their family! I purchased my wife's prescription eye glasses here. This is how they treat men. I asked for a pair of men's readers (2.5) full metal frame. I was shown 3 pair. 1 defenitly woman's. 1 all plastic and 1 not all metal. The one that works the desk will only order the men's glasses AFTER the woman's readers depleted and need to be "restocked" because delivery costs her $40.00. She told me to try Walmart. Nice eh? Only reason for 1 star is because you have to use 1 star to post review.

Went to the Iris store on View Street in downtown Victoria to see if they could replace a broken arm on my glasses in short order since we were leaving on vacation in 3 days. I was served by Nicole D, who was extremely friendly and helpful, going beyond the call of duty. She did not have the part in stock but phoned around to other non-Iris stores (i.e., competitors) to see if they had what I needed. They did not, so she ordered the part from Toronto, stressing that it needed to be in Victoria within 2 days. It all worked out perfectly with lots of time to spare. Jana made me feel like family, and Nico's phone etiquette is very reassuring. Jana handled a rush order for my glasses personally, and she made sure I got them as quickly as possible because I didn't have a backup pair. (I lost my regular glasses in a kayaking accident.) As soon as the glasses arrived at IRIS White Rock, she called me and let me know I could come and pick them up, and she joked with me to lighten the mood and make me feel like family. Earlier in the week, when I anxiously called prematurely to check on my order, Nico spent an extended period of time on the phone with me looking up the details of my order, and he managed to track the glasses to a minute of when they would arrive. I was stressed out, having been unable to see anything but blurry figures for five days, and Nico's patience and thoroughness on the phone made me feel confident everything was being taken care of. In the initial eye test, Dr. Birring was friendly, personable, efficient, professional, and he shared some insider information with me when I asked about foods that would help my eyesight - apparently sugar causes micro-leaks in the small blood capillaries in your body, and an optometrist can view these micro-leaks in the images of your retina. The information inspired me to cut back on sugar. Today, I have an excellent pair of glasses, thanks to the team at IRIS White Rock, and I keep the glasses on with a string - just in case I roll my kayak again.

I was having a big problem with my eye and my own Optometrist could not see me so I called Iris Huronia Optical. They welcomed me even though I had just bought glasses elsewhere. On my arrival they handed me mask, hand sanitizers through out the store, and any glasses I tried on was sanitized , store was extremely clean and all staff had the appropriate PPE on. The doctor was extremely professional and friendly. I purchased glasses and CL. They also provided me with sample CL until I receive my order. Thank you so much guys. I will return and bring my co-workers as well.

Eye exam went well and staff were friendly at time of exam (though I did feel some pressure to purchase glasses after exam from the staff). But didn't find a suitable set of frames at the time. When I found frames at another store, they were unhelpful when it came to faxing over my prescription to the other retailer. While this created a major hassle for me, I did receive an apology phone call at a later time to apologize for their network being down and that in store traffic had contributed to their inability to fax it over.

I had a great optometrist whom I really trusted but I moved to WR and needed a new optometrist. I stayed with IRIS because they have been great to me in the past and I appreciate how easy it is to have my file moved and if I'm traveling there's probably an IRIS nearby. I have visited Dr. Angle 3 times now over several months. First for my eye exam, and second and third for contact fitting because I wasn't completely happy with the first set of contacts. He (and the staff) are amazing. Dr. Angle took my concerns seriously and found contacts that work. Also at my first appointment he recommended I change my reading habits a bit (he takes the time to really understand how you use your eyes) and at my most recent appointment my prescription went down in one eye because the minor change reduced my eye strain so I don't need the higher prescription. I would definitely recommend IRIS Waterloo and Dr. Angle.
