I’ve been wearing contacts and glasses for 20 years, and in that time I’ve probably had eye exams at a dozen opticians. None come close to the service here. The staff are very knowledgeable, friendly, and patient. The selection of frames (and especially contacts) is better than anything I’ve encountered, and the customer service is awesome. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Dr. Purba gave me the best eye exam I have ever had. With my challenging prescription, I thought that I'd never see well again, but I was wrong. Connie helped me select a pair of funky glasses that not only worked with my prescription, but look amazing. I get so many compliments. I will definitely be going back!

I actually enjoyed my eye exam experience. The staff led by Connie were very friendly and more than helpful. The Optometrist Dr. Purba answered all of my questions in a way that I could understand and instilled a sense of confidence in her competence. These people are very good...probably the best in town. My Tom Ford glasses are spectacular (did you see what I did there?).

Connie has been addressing my eye glass needs for many years. She is caring, thoughtful, and empathetic. I have multiple visual issues which Connie continues to address with knowledge and expert skill. She listens attentively and considers solutions carefully, offering ongoing help no matter how challenging my situation. I need prisms in my lenses and am sensitive to slight changes in the alignment of my tri-focals. Connie perseveres in adjusting my lenses in order to solve my needs. As a benefit, I also get modern elegant frames at Shelbourne Optical. The other two opticians Corinna & Jolene who make up the Shelbourne Optical team, are also always friendly, polite and helpful. I highly recommend Shelbourne Optical!

I had a very upsetting experience at Shelbourne Optical. It was my first time visiting for an eye exam. After i filled out my contact info for the receptionist (who was lovely) I was told I was welcome to try on any glasses as I waited. My partner and I went to look at the glasses and as soon as I tried on a pair and put them back away, another lady working there came up to me and said "Excuse me, did you just try those on? Please take them down so I can disinfect them, I really don't think you should be trying glasses on with your condition." This was in a room full of people. My partner and I looked at each other confused, I've never spoke to this lady in my life how does she know anything about me? After that we decided to leave, but my partner went back for an explanation. The lady said she assumed I had an eye infection because my eyes were red. My eyes get red because I have glaucoma and need to put 4 drops in my eyes a day. Not to mention I was born legally blind with cataracts and my eyes have undergone a lot of surgeries in my life This was completley unacceptable and unprofessional. People with all sorts of eye conditions need to come in for eye exams and we should be able to do so without being humiliated and judged in a room full of people. It's unfortunate because I was searching for a new pair of glasses but I won't be getting them here!

Both Connie and Carina are wonderful to work with!!! I've been working with them for the last 6 years and my contacts have always felt comfortable, and it's always been the correct prescription for my horrible astigmatism eyes. I moved all the way down to Houston, Texas two years ago and I make sure I still get my contacts from them. They get them to me quickly and I wish I could transport their business down south!!!
