I’m writing this review on behalf of my wife. I stopped by Hakim to pick up new contacts. I dealt with Franka mostly but Charlotte as well. Both ladies are extremely professional, through and kind. I have been to many optical stores and this is the only one that delivered superior service.

If I could give a 0, I would. This was the absolute worst experience I've ever had in my entire life. My 5 year old daughter and I went for eye exams and my daughter wanted to watch me get mine to calm her nerves. The female Asian optometrist was so incredibly rude, impatient and disrespectful to my daughter. Snapped at her for moving beside me while I was getting my exam. And argued with me when I asked why she snapped at her. Rushed her for her answers when she was doing her exam and made us BOTH extremely uncomfortable. Anyone with children knows it's very important for your child to feel comfortable with any medical professional. I will be making sure to spread the word about my experience at the Billings Bridge Hakim Optical. I will never ever go back. Or back to any hakim for that matter. I am in complete disgust at her lack of professionalism.

This place seems very polarizing you can tell everything is laid out professionally but the customer service at the desk was...strange the guy was chewing gum with his mouth open while speaking to us which was kind of gross and the lady who did the eye exam was super snappy like she was ready to fight at any time. At the end of the day we can only hope we got out with the right persription for the regular fee. So the guy at the front desk and the Asian Doctor could have done alot better for customer service and just maintained professionalism and our visit would have gone way better.

99% percent sure the doctor got my prescription wrong, as apparently my astigmatism improved over the past year, even without eye surgery! wow, lucky me! Yeah, dont go here. She would tell me to "put my head back" numerous times to the point where my head was basically through the chair head trying to follow her orders. Also, she was very rude, telling me "Give me your glasses, give them to me", no manners whatsoever. Here I go today to eyedocs to hopefully speak to someone who actually knows a thing or two about customer service and vision in general.

My boyfriend went here for an eye exam and was charged despite being 19 (he's covered under OHIP). The employee realized the mistake and wanted to refund him the money, but the optometrist was uncooperative and unwilling to refund the money. I have never crossed paths with a more rude and unfriendly person. She dismissed us within seconds and while the employees tried to help him get his money back, they were unsuccessful.

Very pleasant experience dealing with staff who were very friendly and answered my questions without complication. I write that in comparison to my experience with Laurier optical - their competitor at Billings Bridge, which was over complicated and, in the end, unhelpful to the point of me leaving. Hakim staff told me exactly what I needed to know and how much it would cost. Thanks for the help!

Worst possible experience. Bought lenses for me and my wife in the beginning of January and I STILL DON`T HAVE IT! Excuses after excuses and the worst customer service I`ve ever seen. Make yourself a favor and DO NOT BUY at this store.

Had an eye exam, went well with no delays or anything. Also gave them frames I'd purchased myself to have prescription lenses added. Got a reasonable price for them, turnaround was about a week so not bad.

***UPDATE - PLS SEE MY RESPONSE IN THE PIC******* Bad experience at this location. I will not be going back. Had my first pair of progressives made here. I had to return them due to them not being the right prescription. I had purchased the glasses, paying what I thought was the final balance owing. Claimed this amount, as per the normal process. Fast forward to 8 months later, I get a phone call, advising i had an outstanding balance. Being busy at work i quickly paid with my credit card over the phone. Later that night, I am wondering why and how I owe this money. I write them an email, asking them to further explain this balance. No response. I write again, still no response. I show up in person. They explain I should've sent them my claim amount I had received from my benefit provider. I have never had to do this before. They explained that the enployee had never filled out an outstanding insurance form (?!) And that the real amount of my glasses was over $700..... I asked to get an answer in writing, I only received a phone call, despite being promised an email. A) had I known the real cost of my glasses I would have shopped around. B) I was never told that i was walking away owing money. That wouldn't have happened, i would have paid this full amount prior to my initial departure. C) I find it shady. poor paperwork and communication lead to asking someone to pay an outstanding bill 8 mths later. Ultimately the manager could not help me out or offer me any type of future discount for their lack of professionalism and improper paperwork on their end. I'd you dont like mystery bills almost a year after a purchase, a misleading price and want your glasses made correctly the first time, do not come here.

I had wonderful experience with Valdet (Val) who helped me pick out 2 pairs of glasses. He has wonderful customer service and called me as soon as the first pair came in as he knew O was short on contacts. Unlike other experiences I received at other Hakim Opticals,Valdet wass wonderful. If you need to go to any Hakim Optical please consider going to the one at Billings Bridge and ask for him.

I was browsing for glasses a few months ago when I witnessed a conflict between the staff and an elderly, francophone woman. One staff member was extremely unprofessional and very rude, berating and pretty much kicking her out of the store because she didn't want to leave without an explanation she fully understood. I stepped in when this staff member, a young brunette man who claimed to be the manager, threatened to throw her glasses away if she wouldn't leave. He was rude to me as well so I reported this to Hakim Opticals customer service line, including the behaviour of the employee who claimed to be the manager. I don't know if this person really was the manager, as they behaved so poorly, but I see this staff member there almost every time I pass by. I will not visit this location again and would advise the same to you. UPDATE: Please see owner's response below. Not sure what was "assumed and accused" as I did not speak on what led to the dispute. As such I have made zero assumptions/ accusations regarding what led to it nor Hakims responsibilities in regards to fixing glasses from other companies. Rather, I specifically addressed a customer service concern regarding unacceptable treatment of customers. My only regret is not videotaping this abhorrent treatment as abuse and disrespectful treatment should not be tolerated from staff either.

Worst place ever!!!! If I could rate this a -100, I would. I came here April 24th 2019, I have no words to even describe how I feel. I have never been so upset in my entire life. Dr dawn song, an asian lady is an extremely bad eye doctor. If you do not believe me, read all their lowest ratings and see what they had to say about her. First, she does not even speak proper english so you dont understand her and she does not understand you. She is very wicked, from her accent I think she recently moved to Canada but she still has that evil, ruthless, inhumane asian behaviour in her and is too old to be there. She looks frustrated all the time and puts her anger on the customer. Worst of all she only cares about the money and not the customer. She snapped at me all through my test. She has a very horrible Customer service, the worst that I will ever experience in my entire life. If you want to have even just a normal experience do not go here because they will ruin your whole day and possible week. Please I am begging you, do not go here, do not listen to what people said in the good reviews listen to this. And the rest of the staff was as horrible as the doctor especially the white young man with brownish hair. He told me to my face in front of other customers that I did not pay for my eye test, odsp did. He brought me down because I have a disability and treated me like I am a rat. I will never ever forget this experience, how I wish I could go back in time and not go here. Please do not go here, please and have a good week.

Excellent service , I ordered two pair of eyeglasses and the staff was very helpful choosing the frame that fits me best after the order was placed I received a phone call to inform me that the glasses were ready. Great customer service. The glasses are lovely I have receive many compliments on my new glasses. Thank you

The customer service here was terrible. I felt like I was bothering them when I was picking out my glasses and they offered no help. They got my phone number wrong so when I called to check on them they said they had been in for 10 days, didn't try to email me or reach out instead. When I picked them up the girl would not adjust them for me and was borderline rude. I tried to wear my new glasses, which only had a very slight prescription change from my last pair, and had a terrible headache for over a week. Finally i brought them to hakim at baseline and they were super helpful and informed me that the lenses had been placed incorrectly and was lining up on my eyes completey wrong. They were very helpful at baseline and fixed the errors. 2 months later I can wear the new glasses I paid for. Will not be back to hakim at billings.

I don't understand why I can't reply to the managers that respond to my reviews in here. First of all, you are not the owner of the company. Google offers lots of information about the owner of Hakim optical and he is not the one writing replies. He has more important things to do. When it comes to the quality of the frames, everyone can see that the material is cheap and you sell it at a very expensive price. They are made in China. Next time when the frame brakes , I will post it on the website so everyone can see that you are just lying (my dear "owner" of the optical store)

Dr. Dawn Song was the worst experience I ever had with a medical professional. She was incompetent, rude, and angry. First, she was unable to properly place the eye exam lens on my eyes, then proceeded to blame my height for her mistake. She was extremely impatient and didn't leave any time between the two comparisons and when I asked her to slow down, she said to just choose in an angry tone. She became angry when I said an incorrect letter and at one point insinuated that I was lying. At one point she sat right in front of the lens I was supposed to see from and so all I could see was her head and not the letters I was supposed to read; when I asked her to move, she, again became visibly angry and told me that I needed to change my position. She made me feel scared with her loud, combative tone. I was uncomfortable the entire time. However when she continued to be loud, rude, angry, combative, and accusatory, I realized that her incompetence was probably going to affect my prescription, asked her to stop, and left the room. I asked for a refund from one of the employees and she came out form the office and threw cash at me. It felt so cheap and disrespectful. She did not try to right the situation or even talk to me. She then proceeded to tell the other employees (in a loud angry voice) that it was my choice to leave. I was polite and courteous to her; gave her a few chances and even when I left, I did not argue or confront her; yet she still followed me and yelled at me. This was a horrible experience; not something I ever find myself in; but her unprofessionalism and incompetence are not acceptable. I came home so upset and I intend to bring this to the attention of the College of Optometrists of Ontario. Hakim optical would do right by terminating their private contract with her as she only makes them look bad with these negative reviews.

What can I say about Charlotte at Hakim Optical other then she went above and beyond to help me and my son who is in hospital right now. Her commitment was outstanding and she made my son's day a little easier. She even followed up and called to see how we were doing. You don't see that a lot anymore, people who go out of their way to make a difference. She has made a difference with my family and I won't ever forget it!

As a customer, I appreciate the support and I am satisfied with the services provided by the store manager, Grant Murati and the staff Kaeline,Valdet,and Charolette. I needed the glasses last minute and other optical stores unfortunately couldnt provide me with the services as soon as possible during the holiday season but this location did thankfully . Highly recommended!

Extremely unprofessional and impolite. The service is very poor I strongly do not recommend to anyone. The receptionists showed no professionalism when dealing with us, they made me wait 30 minutes extra for my appointment and showed not sincere reason as to why I had to wait. The doctor was super disrespectful and showed a superior attitude, she Did not say hi, bye or thank you. Plus she was being very dry when answering the questions my mom asked and quoted that ‘she knows what she’s doing.’ Very poor you’re better off getting your eyes checked anywhere else.
