I switched a few years ago after my long-term eye doctor retired. Albert Opticians makes getting your check-ups feel almost glamorous, and Dr. Stokes' eye appointments are actually fun. Best optician in all of Ottawa. Great optometrists but mostly, great staff: knowledgeable, efficient, courteous, fully bilingual. They won't let you buy frames that don't fit you! LOL Stupendous selection of frames from all around the world. Some expensive, some cheap. They carry ultra quality lenses that the other opticians don't even know exist... Bought several reading ones, from different opticians in Ottawa, that I hide once done reading until I came across this fantastic boutique "Albert Opticians", which sells one of a kind and sophisticated designs I did not see in any other store in the Capital. The service is the best part: Not only you get the quality of the material (frame and lenses) but you also get the professional expertise of the staff who help you choose the best that fits extremely well your complexion and the shape of your face. Albert optician is by far the best optician I have been to so far. I got an IC Berlin vision glasses a couple of years ago (stylist light weight low maintenance frame coupled with a great glass non glare, anti reflection, anti scratch and a few other useful coatings). The frame unfortunately broke from a side and Albert took care of that personally. He also had my glass replaced recently (outside the two year mark). A few days ago I picked Matsuda sunglasses from Albert. What a marvellous frame and again the top quality glass that Albert fixed in it is just breathtaking. Other than the fact that Albert is the only store I can get a Matsuda frame around Ottawa area I like how Albert and his staff provide excellent customer service not just until they sell you the product but there after sales service is what I think sets them apart! Albert is my go to store for any glasses related needs for as long as I live in the area.

My latest experience with Albert Opticians (July 22, 2021) included a full service, that encompasses a detailed optometrist annual check-up and new measurements to accommodate a new prescription for Zeiss de-luxe glasses. This is significant , because Albert’s services include an extensive doctor’s explanatory interview with the patient to offer a longer term overview of the eye medical condition and changes since last visit. On the Optician side of professional services, Albert exploits a unique ZeissVisufit 1000 equipment, an advanced high precision fitting scanner that goes beyond what even a trained optical technician can do to adjust frames and lenses to each physical trait of a human face, to tailor the medical specifications to the Optician’s client . This comprehensive service can be considered optimal and reaches a higher billing bracket that is justified if you already decided that your vision is of top most priority for your wellbeing. You won’t find better and attentive optometrist and optician service within hundreds of kilometers around the Ottawa, Ontario.

I'm very impressed with Dr. Stokes. My first visit to this clinic was efficient, prompt, and well-organized. The staff are professional and kind. During my exam, I did not feel rushed. I felt welcome and valued. Dr. Stokes explained all the tests to me, left plenty of time to ask questions, and was very friendly. Best of all, I didn't feel any pressure to buy new glasses at this store (although I probably will return and do so). Great price, great location, great experience. I'll look forward to coming back!

The lenses are the best I have ever had. They are absolutely perfect for my prescription. I have never seen so clearly before. All the staff and the owner were friendly and helpful. I went to the store for the first time in August for my eye exam. They had proper COVID protocols in place and were still able to show me all their frames and spend time discussing different lenses. Indeed the two generation owned "Albert Opticians" offers us a unique and highly distinctive eyewear in Canada's capital. In fact, I have been a lucky client for the last 15 years, and would highly recommend both the eyewear and the customized care and style.It was only a few weeks ago when I called Albert from Iqaluit and told him I would need new glasses. He asked me to send him a few pictures so that he can in real-time (virtually) evaluate my facial features. I have been wearing glasses and contacts for many years and only since I became a regular guest at Albert's, have I actually enjoyed having poor vision. What I mean is, I love going there! I always feel welcomed and appreciated. I get amazing service and the products are top notch. I never feel rushed to make a decision and I appreciate that it's always a team effort to find the right style for me. The very kind staff are amazing and thank you Robert!!! The selection of glasses is amazing, but the service and the people are somehow even better! I’m currently wearing the most perfect glasses for me (purple and light as air to help the stress of my concussion) and when I say perfect, I mean PERFECT! Thank you to everyone at Alberts for finding me not one, not two, but three amazing frames (two glasses and one sunglasses) and lenses that aren’t coke bottle thick... even though my prescription is so bad...
