It's been 3 years since I first entered the world of prescription eyewear. Ignorant and impulse prone I made my initial purchase at Costco. Believing in false rumours of how horrible progressive lenses were I made the big mistake of buying bifocals and an additional pair of prescription readers. Costco won that time! After suffering for 3 years while my eyesight further declined.It was time to admit defeat and get a new pair of eyewear. It's a daunting task navigating all BOGO, 50% off and endless free offers.I shopped around and became disillusioned with quotes of up to $775 for progressive lenses. I stumbled into Scott's by near accident downtown one day and almost laughed when I walked in. Deja vu, it's 1985 again. Scott was serving a customer and I patiently browsed his smaller selection. No spoilers here, Scott got my money and I have the coolest best fitting glasses I could have ever hoped to find. I can see again. Don't trust me, trust Scott and find out why he's been a Guelph institution for a long long time. See you in 2 years Scott!!

EDIT: I would appreciate an apology for removing my mask without my consent (instead of just excuses and further condescension). Very disappointed in the owner's attitude toward his staff and demeanor toward customers. As I was trying on frames, Scott PULLED MY MASK OFF MY FACE without my consent. He wanted to see how my frames looked, so he pulled my mask down without asking if he could touch me, nor if I felt comfortable removing my mask. The whole thing was very disrespectful and violating, especially as a young woman. Completely inappropriate. (P.S. Dr. K and the two women working there were amazing. I was only disappointed with the owner, Scott. He was also condescending and patronizing toward the female staff and was not following Covid protocols [e.g., walking around without a mask on with customers present].)

I wore progressive lenses for years from other opticians with some success but also a lot of issues. Going to Scott for the first time, I explained my issues and he recommended a state of the art progressive lenses. (None of my previous opticians had told me there were progressive options.) Wow! My first pair of glasses are from there and they're my favorite! My experience: Scott was very helpful, he went through everything with me to make sure I like what i get and that its a perfect fit for my glasses purpose. He answered all my questions through calls and emails and well as in person. He took time to make sure I get the best quality and properly made lenses as my glasses were very specific. He carries a big variety of frames and sunglasses. He also has brand name ones. Highly recommend, and will definitely go back for my next pair!

Service is still alive here. Scott actually pays attention to what a customer requires, rather than to what a customer can pay. Knowledge and service! I'll never go elsewhere for glasses.

Scott was very nice and helpful, and found me a solution for glasses I wanted within a relatively small budget. From someone who's had more eye exams and glasses from Wal Mart than anywhere else, coming here was a delight! (and cost me less as well)

I've been seeing Scott since he worked in his father's shop as an apprentice as a boy at the age of 6 my mother took me regularly for adjustments to my frames as I was not easy on them. I have followed Scott through out his career at the different locations he has operated. Always top level service. I still use Scott for my glass and my son's glasses. My son has been in glasses for 11 years now and myself 42. I have shopped around but still come back to Scott. Unbeatable service and good solid home town commitment.
