I have had two (update: 3 pairs) pairs of Nikon lenses develop significant crazing of the coatings, rendering them virtually unbearable, after approximately two years. Nikon did step up and replace the first ones, but this seems to be a consistent problem . I suppose I will try Zeiss next time. Update: after visiting my optometrist, he indicated that my third pair of Nikon lenses were also crazed. These will be replaced under warranty. This still leaves me with one unuseable pair
