I was here for eye exam and contact lenses trial. I had a really bad experience with this place for the following reasons: 1) I chose an appointment with a professional on Saturday for my contact lenses trial. Only after that appointment, I was told that this optometrist only works once every week and she will be having a vacation for two weeks, meaning she will be absent for my follow-ups. I asked if someone else can take care of me, but they said I need to pay a 30$ extra. This is not the case with any other glasses store I have been. 2) They only let me try two pairs of contact lenses and pushed me to purchase. At first, my main concern was the budget and the comfort. I told the optometrist that I would not prefer a pair of lenses with large diameter because it’s uncomfortable and looks bad. Then she gave me a second pair with even larger diameter. I mean, can’t you listen to what I need? 3) Usually in other store, someone would guide me putting the lenses on and tell me what to take care of, but not at this place. 4)It takes them longer (at least ten days) to order and get the trial lenses than other glasses store such as New Look or Costco that I have been. 5)The eye exam was a little bit more pricey than other place, but the service was not better. The waiting area was very small and discomfort. 6) I called once to discuss the possibility of reschedule an appointment, but the receptionist hung up and told me she was busy at the moment. She said she would call back but I never got the call. 7) I had a file before when I was purchasing a pair of glasses, but they did not register it to their computer system. And asked me again about all my personal info when I revisit for eye exam. So basically what I want to say is: Please choose somewhere else nearby such as Newlook, they have good customer service, they are in downtown, and is less pricey. I only chose This Greiche & Scaff because it’s closer to my home, but I totally regretted.

Alright, so after my visit to this branch of Greiche & Scaff in Eaton Center about a month ago I was so thrilled with the service that I promised myself to leave a google review. The manager and the staff are very friendly and professional. I received the most complete and accurate eye exam I've ever had and I've been wearing glasses for 20 years now. I'll definitely be going back there annually. Great job folks. Keep it up! Note that this review only applies to the Greiche & Scaff in Eaton Center. Sadly, I can't say the same about the branch in Nihon Plaza which I had been visiting for the past 4 years or so.

Personally, I am someone of very "easy going" and who never gives bad comment .. but unfortunately, I think that it is the first time in my life that I received such a bad experience at eyewear . The thing that struck me the most was when the employees looked at me as if I bother them as soon as I walked into the shop (except one that was full smiling with me). A week after my eye exam, I had a call that said I could go get my contact glass order that had just arrived. So I asked the attendant over the phone if there will be an optician available for me to try and she told me that I can pick them up the next day without any problem. The next day, when I arrived there, the employee spoke to me in a very unpleasant tone, saying that she can not give me the contact lenses because I have not done my glasses yet. I asked if I could do it right now and then she tells me that the optometrist is not here and she asks me to take another appointment for another day. If she would have told me earlier by phone that I had to take an appointment, I think there will be no problem ... even that, she was very incompetent in raising her voice when she speaks to me. Not only did they move me for nothing, they made me waste time (50 minutes of travel). Thank you for leaving me such a beautiful memory and lost me as a client. (Original) WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Une semaine après mon examen de vue, j'ai eu un appel qui me dit comme quoi que je pourrais aller récuperer ma commande de verre de contact qui venait juste d'arriver. Alors j'ai demandé au préposée par téléphone s'il y aura un opticien disponible pour que je puisse les essayer et elle m'a répondu en disant que je peux les chercher le lendemain sans aucun problème. Le jour suivant, lorsque je suis arrivée là-bas, l'employée me parlait avec un ton très désagréable en disant qu'elle ne peut pas me donner les verres de contact parce que je n'ai pas encore fait mon examen de verres. J'ai demandé si je pourrais le faire tout de suite et c'est alors qu'elle me dit que l'optométriste n'est pas là et elle me demande de prendre un autre rdv pour une autre journée. Si elle m'aurait dit plus tôt par téléphone qu'il fallait prendre un rdv, je crois qu'il n'y aura aucun problème... même à ça, elle était très incompétante en montant sa voix lorsqu'elle me parle. Non seulement ils m'ont fait déplacé pour rien, ils m'ont fait gaspiller du temps (50 minutes de déplacement). Merci de m'avoir laissé de si beau souvenir et de m'avoir perdue comme cliente.

I needed and urgent exam because my puppy destroyed my glasses. I called and they squeezed me in for an appointment the same day. The girls were so nice and understanding that i was walking blindly around hoping to get glasses ASAP. The Dr. was without a doubt amazing. He listened to my worries and took care of my issue. I got my glasses within 2 days (high prescription, needed to order the lenses), the girls rushed the order instead of having me wait a week!! I'm more than happy that i can see again! Absolutely horrible experience. I went to get an eye test for contact lenses, and told the staff that I wanted to take my perscription with me as I wanted to shop around for the best price before buying any. No objections, until after I had paid for the test, when they told me that it was "against the law" for them to give me my contact perscription. According to them it was for my own safety, and they would hapily sell me my contacts. After checking with other optometrists (and a lawyer, to be safe) I went back and told them that it was absolutely not legal for them to charge me for a test and then withold the results. After arguing with them back and forth for WEEKS, they finally agreed to give me my perscription, but only if I either a) paid them 20 dollars for "my file", which at this point was simply the contact lens perscription, or b) they would give it to me if I first bought six months worth of contact lenses. Needless to say I'm filing a complaint against them. Do NOT go to this store for any reason.

Wow, service is much better at a funeral home than there. I checked and we it wasn't zombie day, so I figure it's their normal service. I went there for some sunglasses and the corpse that finally came to "help" us (hi Elias!) had no clue about any anything and barely spoke to us and seemed to be dead inside. Even the payment process was painful, the girl that handle it was also dead inside and I could barely hear her speak to me. She asked me to write down my name and information and even with that she managed to obliterate my name like no other. Seriously "Seibastian" ?! I even pointed out the mistake and she made it worse... I ended up buying there but I should've abstained and buy online even if it was 30$ more expensive. There kind of place need to be out of business.

The only reason I chose Greiche & Scaff over other locations was because I was told my prescription glasses would be available within 3 business days and I was desperate for glasses. Other places quoted me 1 week. However, instead of 3 days I had to wait 2 full weeks for my glasses to be ready. I will not return to Greiche & Scaff again and do not recommend to others.

Bought my kid to do a follow up examination. While we must be in 30mins waiting requirement from the doctor, we sit on two chairs while waiting, the guy receptionist came and asked to take out 1 chair from us with no words, then left the chair alone. He acted seems not happy, low level of respect us, for no reason?!?. My kid had to sit on the floor during 20minutes after that. It made me feel like we were here bothering them too much. Also, if you ask to see the glasses and eventually not buy them, this guy will show immediately that he is not happy. The doctor was nice but I do not recommend this place because of terrible customer service.

Worst experience. I went to get an eye exam to order glasses. The doctor prescribed me an Rx for my glasses AND my contact lenses. I double checked at while paying for my glasses, the man confirmed (contact Rx -6.5 and glasses Rx -7.5) and he assured me that I could order my contacts later. The eye exam was 85$. I called today to order my contacts, spent 15 minutes waiting on the phone and finished the conversation telling them I won't be going to their store anymore , since they told me the doctor didn't prescribe me contact lenses. The assistant first took me to a room to do a few exams. There was a machine that blows air into the eyes to measure pressure. Normally, you are given a warning, but without any notice, she started exerting pressured air into my right eye (3 times in a row). When I asked if she should have warned me about it, she said "Oh yea, you will experience the same thing in the other eye". Then, I went to see the optometrist. I gave him my glasses and said that I don't wear them too often. He said "I can see that", so I asked him how he knew, he said "It's my job. Put them on. (I put my glasses on). I see why." He went on to telling me that they don't look good on me in this bitchy manner. I ended up confronting him and asked if he was having a bad day and putting it out on me. He immediately started smiling and apologized, saying that he didn't mean to be rude. Too late he had ruined my day, and I'm never going back there again.

The optometrist is amazing however at the front is the WORST. SERVICE. EVER!!! The people at the front are lost and don't know what is going on. It took the girl 10 minutes to locate my file because the previous associate entered it wrong at my last visit although She copied it from my drivers license. Some of the sales associates dress too casual and seem very unprofessional and bored. At the end of my exam I found out I don't get my prescription and I wish they had told me that before I paid. A lot of other optometrist do give it to you so this was new to me. I would only go if you're in an emergency situation and can't go to your regular optometrist.

The optometrist gave me a bad prescription in April. Went back. Changed lenses. She said she would make my left eye stronger then what I needed to "make glasses even". Had to leave province for some months. Never ajusted to prescription. When I came back they told me it's been too long, I need to pay 80$ for exam and full price to change lenses. Will never go back. Never had a bad experience with optometrists before and had glasses for 20 years. Trust the bad reviews and terrible score. Avoid at all cost.

Would not recommend for eye exam, but they have good deals on lenses and frames. The eye exam, was almost fully automated and conducted by an employee, you get very little time with the actual ophthalmologist. 2 years ago, My wife wanted glasses with straight branches (as opposed to the usual ones where the branch curls around your ear. She settled for a pair of Oakley (total $500, frame plus glass) . First thing the assistant does is she bends the frame branch. When my wife told them "What the hell, I bought these because of the straight branches", she simply said it's supposed to be curled. My wife is non confrontational, so she left pissed.

A joke of a place... Look I know that I didn't buy my glasses from you and I know I bought them online. However, at this store the sales person said that only the optometrist could tighten the screw of my glasses. I even offered to tighten myself if they borrowed me the screwdriver, but they refused. Some operations are illegal. Patients have a legal right to monitor and control the contents of your prescription. By law the optometrist must release your prescription after you get the eye exam. I got an eye exam done for contact lenses and ordered contacts from them. After I received my contacts, I requested a copy of my prescription. However when I requested the prescription, the receptionist and her colleagues changed my actual prescription numbers in one of my eyes and forged the Optometrist's signature!! I saw this as I was standing facing the desk, the receptionist printed my prescription and signed it herself in the area reserved for the optometrist. Please do not go here, make sure to read reviews about an eye care provider beforehand. Their honesty is reflected by all the other reviews.
