The is without a doubt the single worst place to buy glasses, they take your money then you are on your own. Right off the bat I should have known the Optometrist lost patience with me during the eye exam...does not start well, and i was promise my glasses in 10 to 15 days, had to wait over five weeks because "there was a problem" with the procedure when coating them with the anti-scratch or anti-glare... told myself ok, this happens, but after another 20 days of waiting I got fed up that they apparently couldn't get a rush on them so I called and told them I wanted a refund, and was offered a 10% discount which I took, but when the damn glasses came in, they still had a defect in them, which me being half blind didn't notice when picking them up. went back, told they weren't responsible and now it seems to be getting worst. PLUS en top of that they will not give you the results of your eye exam until you buy at least one pair of glasses at their store...WE pay for that Exam so it should and probably is illegal to not give out that information specially when you paid for it. in any case, as for me I am never going back to this place, my only reason for this review is to make sure no one else gets screwed over by the horrible service.

(Original) On a eu un bon service pendant des années ma femme et moi jusqu'a temps qu'on trouve de meilleurs prix ailleurs pour les lentilles. Donc, nous avons demandé une copie de la prescription pour aller acheter ailleurs. Nous avons eu comme réponse que le docteur n'avait pas signé la prescription alors nous devions attendre 2 jours. Apres 2 jours, toujours pas fait et ne serait pas fait avant le jeudi suivant. Alors 7 jours pour obtenir la prescription pour faire l'achat de lentilles ailleurs. La nouvelle place où nous achetons a voulu nous depanner car nous partions en vacances et n'avait plus de lentilles alors ils ont appelés optique laurier pour savoir quel etait ma prescription et ils ont refusé de leur donner , ce qui a eu pour effet de partir en vacances avec des lunettes de vue au gros soleil! Dommage, nous voulions continuer a acheter nos montures de lunettes là comme à chaque année mais ils ont perdu 2 bons clients à être si mal organisés et ne pas vouloir se forcer pour nous donner du service.

My brother (underage at the time) had an appointment with them. His vision wasn’t bad to the point where he needed glasses (-100 for both eyes). But we were pressured by the doctor as well as the sales person to purchase a pair of glasses for him. They literally held his exam result hostage, they wouldn’t show his result to us unless we agreed to buy a pair of glasses. We felt disgusted by their customer service. I booked my eye exam at the same time as him but I was planning to buy contact lenses so I didn’t need glasses. They were extremely reluctant to give my result to me but I guess they weren’t as insistent since I needed to pay for my eye exam. When we went back to pick up my brother’s glasses, I reminded them that they didn’t give me the measurement of length in between my pupils the last time. A young man (looked like he was still in training) was going to give it to me, but the older lady (who appeared to be training him) stopped him and said: “she’s not buying her glasses here, you don’t have to give it to her.” I’ve never experienced such horrible customer service in all my life. Do not recommend this place. Take your money to a shop where they at least respect you as a human being.

My glasses' screws were loose, so I came by there to let them fix it. Fortunately, it was free. But then when I had my glasses back, my glasses were chipped on the sides since it was hard plastic, and the screws on the side were all bent. When I went back a year after to get my second glasses, it was broken again and asked them to fix it but they denied. I only lost a part of it though. Glasses were expensive but they break easily.

Le lendemain matin j'ai changer d'avis je ne voulais plus mes lunettes car je trouvais c'étais trop cher. Elle ne volait RIEN me rembourser. Je l'ai avait meme pas encore recu elle me dit c'est trop tard et elle me parle super betement comme si jetais de la merde. Naller JAMAIS labas. Je remercie ma compagnie de MasterCard pour le remboursement. Cette femme c'est une arnaqueuse et même la madame de mastercard l'a dit qu'elle na pas le droit de refuser un remboursement.

(Je suis revenu dans la demi-heure car je ne voulais pas niaiser des mois pour des lunettes). Au prix des lunettes, on s'attend clairement à un meilleur service. 5-8 jours pour livraison de lunette... aucun appel. J'appel le 9eme jour...je suis encore en attente depuis 25 minutes... Je raccroche... Je suis très déçu d'avoir acheter mes lunettes chez Optique Laurier. Piste d'amélioration: Plus de cohésion et certainement une employé de plus... Les moins chère sur le marché pour l'examen de vue...maintenant je comprend pourquoi.

I would highly recommended that you go elsewhere. I’ve been going to Laurier Optical in Rideau centre for years and have had nothing but great experiences. This year I decided to try this location and cannot express enough how disappointed I was. Firstly, my eye exam was rushed and the doctor didn’t give me an opportunity to ask any questions. Secondly I paid for a contact lens fitting and they gave me the wrong ones with the excuse that they didn’t have any more of the ones I needed. I tried to get in touch with the location to get the correct contact lens prescription since I paid for a fitting and the employee is refusing to give it to me because apparently I need to go in and pay again or order it through them. To top it all off, the extremely rude employee decided that he didn’t want to talk to me anymore and said that he had to go and hung up the phone as I was still speaking. This is by far the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had and I will not be using any of the company’s services or ordering their products in the future. I’ve filed a complaint with the head office and will be following up with them if this is not resolved.

I would never recommend this place to anyone. The staff are not professional, neither was the optometrist. I went to this location to get an eye exam, I was asked to pay before the exam. After paying a staff took me in the back in order to proceed with the preliminaries, the machine where she asked me to rest my chin on was full of foundation left behind by another Customer- she cleaned it with a kleenex and alcohol. She then asked me if I was wearing any contacts lenses and I was, she did not have any contact lenses case to offer me to put my contacts for the duration of the eye exam. Usually at any normal place they offer you a new contact case with solution, in this case they did not have, so the staff got a coffee mug and suggested I would remove my contacts and place them there. Since I refused the optometrist decided to offer me 2 bottle caps and told me they were sterile, I looked at them and they had some sort of a brown residue on them. At that point, I knew I had to leave this place. I asked to be refunded for the exam, the staff told me, she didnt know how to proceed with the reimbursement since the credit card machine belongs to the optometrist that was now busy with another eye exam. So I had to wait. When the optometrist finished with the customer, and was put aware of my decision to not proceed with the eye exam and get a reimbursement, she came to see me and told me the bottle caps were clean, so I pointed out to her the brown dirt on the caps. She told me, that she could not reimburse me because the code on her machine was not working, after I insisted and suggested for her to reimburse my money in cash, she told me she only had 35$ in cash, Since I was getting very frustrated she told me to wait until a customer pays her in cash for me to get reimbursed my full amount (70$), after loosing it, she instructed a staff to reimburse me in cash so I leave. (suddenly more then 35$ was available). I left Optique Laurier, not understanding how a reputable place could offer such bad services, I wasted my time after having planned all my day around this failed appointment.

Dans mon cas ils auraient dû me dire que les montures choisies n'étaient pas adapté pour un foyer, mais bien sûr ils n'ont rien dit. Et surprise, lors de ma visite chez mon optométriste, j'apprends que la prescription n'est même pas celle qu'elle m'avait faite il y a deux ans. Je lui demande alors de vérifier mes autres paires de lunettes aquises au meme moments ...et à notre grand étonnement, aucune ne correspond à la prescription et toute trois sont différentes. PROBLÈME!!! Je me rends donc chez optique laurier aux promenade afin d'essayer d'éclaircir cet embrouille. J'essaie de savoir qu'elle est la prescription au dossier afin de vérifier si elle est conforme. ". Desole madame nous ne pouvons vous communiquer cette informations ". QUOI????? Alors pouvez vous vérifier dans la machine et me dire si les trois lunettes sont pareilles ? ". desole madame revenez demain notre technicien pourra vous aidez avec ce problème " Le lendemain, il oralement impossible d'avoir aucune sorte de coopération. Le technicien étant aussi sympathique qu'un sac à ordure, " impossible madame nous ne pouvons vous donner ces informations." Pourtant 5 minutes auparavant j'étais chez un autre optométriste qui avec une grande amabilité m'a bel et bien écrite toute les informations que j'avais besoi . Donc en définitive, ce sont de vrai escroc. En définitive n'aller pas. Chez optique laurier. N'importe quelle autre place fera un meilleur travail et cela sans endommagé votre vue. Mise à jours. Apres un appel à la maison mère , j'ai reçu un appel de la boutique m'avisant qu'ils souhaitaient vérifier mes lunettes et que s'il y avait bel et bien erreur ils corrigeraient. Nous sommes finalement arrivé au résultat souhaité et ils vont effectivement corriger l'erreur.

I had a very good experience at the Promenades store. The optometrist, Dr. Jarada, was polite and kind and took all the time required, but she only works on Wednesdays. The other optometrist, an asian woman who only speaks english, is quite rude and unfriendly. Because I have mobility issues, the sales person, Suzanne, went and picked frames for me and I also received a competitive rate for my glasses.

So beyond frustrated. I have been coming to this place for years to get my eye exams done. I have bought glasses in the past here as well. I then started buying contacts. I am a student, so my income is not great and I don't have insurance. My eyesight is horrible, and i need contacts or glasses 24/7 to be able to see. I found that Costco had cheaper contact lenses, so i switched to Costco but continued going here for eye exams because they were very nice to me. This year is tight, so I wanted to try to buy glasses online. I need my pupillary distance for this, and I did an eye exam here about 2 weeks ago so i called to see if they could give the measurement to me. The man on the phone said "No because we know you will go buy it somewhere else". I understand they need to make money, and i understand his reasoning but he was extremely rude when i told him i wouldn't be coming back because he wont give me a measurement of my own eye. He said "you haven't bought products here recently anyways you switched to somewhere else" even though i still do the eye exams there. Not impressed, and will not be going back for any type of service.

They wont give you PD number. Without it you cant get proper glasses. Its crucial to have that number. That give a cheap eye exam, than either you buy glasses at inflated prices, or forced to get another eye exam where they provide PD number. WASTE OF MONEY, DONT GO THERE!

This place is the worst. The dr. Hala was good, but I had to pay 30$ to learn to put contacts in. The receptionist after impatiently forcing me into a pair of sunglasses then was teaching me to put in contacts. I've never been so scarred in my life. Forcing her fingers in my eyes when I said I wanted to learn to do it myself. Then I was trying to take them out and was taking more than 30 seconds and she the clutched my head and scraped the contact off with her nail. I actually feel violated. I never got a chance to put them in or take them out before I was told "now you know how, okay?" The worst experience I've ever had and spent the entire time on the way home asking myself if that just happened. Impatience and zero customer service. Pretty angry that I just spent 500$ there, I wish I had paid at the end. I was pressured so fast into buying sunglasses too. When I buy cheap ones on vacation I take way more time than that. Not impressed. Won't buy from there again
