Would NOT recommend. They don't know what they are doing and they overcharge. After I bought my glasses, I had to go back a number of times to get my glasses adjusted because they never fit them to my face properly. One of those time, my frames were noticeably damaged by the optician (less than a month after I got them). I ended up getting my glasses fit to my face properly at a different eye care establishment. I also paid for a contact lens consultation at St. Lawrence Optometry, and the optometrist gave me a trial pair of contact lenses which I found very uncomfortable. I called to ask for a different recommendation for a contact lens, but even though the optometrist gave me the wrong kind, I would have had to pay another $45 just to get a different recommendation.

My optometrist and the staff made my experience a positive one. They are pretty professional and knowledgable. It's probably the best place to go in Kingston. I will definitly recommend my friends and family.

I was impressed that I was able to get my glasses the same day I had my eye exam. I love the glasses I got. I liked the staff and was very happy with how much time the took to explain things. It was my first exam and I was nervous but they took the time to reassure me and make me feel comfortable. Additionally I had a follow up question that was answered very quickly (even after hours!) PS: the glasses have a 2yr warranty!

I am so happy I decided to come to St Lawrence Optometry, the staff are super friendly and made me laugh countless times, they have a super comfortable, welcoming enviroment and greet everyone with a smile. My eye doctor was Dr. Lam and he was very friendly and explained the whole process of the exam. I would highly reccomend coming here for your next exam.

I cannot rave enough about Dr. Stephens. I have worn glasses for 20+ years and I have never had someone spend so much time with me and provide me with such an accurate prescription. I was so impressed that I brought my mother in yesterday (another long time glasses wearer) and she had a similar experience. We discovered that she has been wearing glasses that were too strong for her the last year, they were over correcting her vision to the point that she could not discriminate between leaves on a tree. With her new prescription she is thrilled with how well she can see. I would never go anywhere else!

I am very upset at this place , they changed my appointment to another time due to scheduling to many kids at once . And then due to storm and traffic I was 5 min late . And they couldn’t see me and yet want to reschedule and charge me 55$ fee …. There is no way another patient can be seen in within 5 min time frame . This is observed!!! Yet they don’t give you any deals for waiting when you are earlie or on time and they don’t take you at the time of appointment . I will not be taking my family back here . Very sad because I have been coming here since I was a child myself and then been taking my family over too. Is not fair to my kid who was waiting on her apt and getting her expensive prescription and frames fix .

Asked for appointment, they ONLY do retinal scanning which insurance doesn't cover... Asked if she new of traditional eye exam centre that I get covered she refused to tell me. She was quite rude I feel could have help me

I was really impressed with Dr. Chapman. I am not a regular patient there but had to come in after my regular optometrist in a different part of the country prescribed me the wrong prescription. Dr. Chapman went out of her way to follow up with me and was even able to arrange a free corneal topography exam for me. St. Lawrence is a little more expensive than other optometrists but I was really impressed with them

I DO NOT recommend this place, I will NEVER come back there !! they are not in time to deliver what promised, they overdo the unnecessary "cleaning virus procedures". Exaggeration to the maximum, make you feel like you are carrying something "SO DANGEROUS" that you are killing people just to look at them! What a joke! and Mr. Owner, save your comments. Thank you.

I just switched to this clinic and had my first appointment. Dr. Lam (Jeff) was very friendly and nice. He made my eye exam fun, and explained concepts without being prompted to do so, which I really appreciated- it was educational! He seems very personable and would be a good optometrist for all ages, including children. He is able to keep the appointment fun and upbeat, but also doesn’t shy away from explaining the serious elements thoroughly so that the patient understands.

Dr. Alex was very patient and kind with my toddler for her very first eye exam. He was knowledgeable and provided reassurance about her overall eye health. The reason for my lower rating, is the front desk was not warm nor welcoming. We reside close by and thought we’d use our appointment as an opportunity to walk and enjoy the warmer weather. She was not pleased to see the double stroller, even after I was careful to make sure it was clean of snow and parked it on a mat to ensure the floor didn’t get wet, but my efforts didn’t sway her judgmental stare.

The receptionist was very rude cold and unfriendly. Then told me and my kids we were “too late (ten minutes) and would have to reschedule yet the optometrist was still with the patient before us. Don’t hire a rude cold receptionist, they are the first face you see when you walk in the doors and when they can’t even greet you and say hello then I am not sure they are doing their job. I will not be rescheduling.

I was in St Lawrence Optometry recently for an eye exam and i had some progressive safety glasses made and some changes to some existing sun glasses I had. I am really impressed with the quality of work. The progressive lenses are just perfect. All the staff are friendly and professional. Highly recommended .

I am not sure if the optometrist is hard of hearing. I said I don't want progressive he gave me progressive prescription. Usually the optometrist also gives me the pd without extra charge. This place charges you 35 bucks extra. I guess anything to make up for the renovation they just had. Oh well, I believe this is the last time I am going there.

I am NOT a customer of this optometrist but i contacted them to see if they might have some trials i could use if i provided a prescription. I would give this business a 0 but it doesn't allow me to. My son had his eyes examined and they only give half of a prescription unless you order your glasses through them. They then demand extra payment for the PD numbers if you are getting your glasses elsewhere. Not everyone can afford their outrageous prices. This is nothing but BLACKMAIL! Avoid this business at all costs!
