PSA - ODSP - they accept odsp coverage and work quickly, and were always upfront about cost and will make sure you're happy with what you get! Review- Probably the most personable, quiet, enjoyable place to get your glasses. First time experience has me sold, first impression is that they are better than the rest, another optician had me waiting over two weeks, not optical factory, 4 days from walking in blind to walking out with glasses. Never had such a great experience before.

My son's glasses (2 pairs)need to be repair, both his glasses were badly broken and I thought they weren't fixable. I sent an email with the pictures of the broken glasses and got a response back the next day that they can do something. My husband brought them in and within an hour they were both fix. Both pairs look new again. They did an amazing job and the cost wasn't expensive at all. Great place to go to get your glasses repair.

I have found this to be a convenient and economical downtown business and have bought my glasses and contacts here for years. It is not as cheap as going out to the suburb, perhaps, but I live downtown and find that when I drop in to have my glasses readjusted or to report difficulties I have only received excellent service.

Great friendly & professional service. Fast, high quality, reasonably priced. My last pair of glasses I purchased online & they got scratched within a month despite having scratch-resistant coating. I got new lenses here and it cost about $20 more than the super cheap online price. I think it's been about a month not a single scratch in sight! I know where I'm getting my glasses from now on! (Yes I was using a microfiber cloth on both)

My family has been in the care of John Durst and the Optical Factory for over 20 years for everything from reading glasses, daily wear, sun glasses, last minute repairs (oops) and adjustments. John provides excellent customer service and his products are of the highest quality. And price? I don't think he can be beat. Shop local! Shop independent!

I went here after having a bad experience at another store downtown where a commissioned salesperson tried to overquote me and only tell me about expensive options. So I decided to find a well-reviewed place and this was it! John was very informative. He obviously has his customers' best interests at heart. Even though I only ended up buying two pairs of lenses (and not the frames with lenses I was considering at the first store), what I paid was still *$100 less on the lenses alone*! I'm glad to have this store as an option in Kingston, it's nice to have good, reasonable and ethical people to do business with and to trust for eye protection. Thank you John!!
