I went with a friend who had broken the arm on a pair of eyeglasses. The store was completely empty. He was served immediately by the man behind the counter and in five minutes we were out the door. Best if all the glasses were under warranty so there was no charge. There is a handicapped ramp entrance and taking a quick look at the many many glasses on display. It would be very difficult to decide what part would be the best. Lots of choices.

Today was the best experience I've ever had at a hakim. We went to get new frames and my husband was bummed his discontinued frames broke. It was well past closing and they took the time to not only set us up with 4 new pairs but also looked around the store for a new arm for his old pair. Fixed them right there free of charge. Great people. Highly recommend. Thanks again!

Id rather drive the extra half hour in any direction Away from this hakim. The staff act with the sentimental tact of a wendies drivethrough at closing. I had an issue with my prescription and so i called before leaving to make sure it COULD be solved. Yes, they said. But there was no desire to help when i got there and to shut me up he gave me 4-year old prescriptions cause he couldnt think. One simple phone call to any other hakim settled the issue, they just dont care here. You are a number here You are a waste of time May thanos find this store

The store is not friendly to find the perfect glasses. There are just unknown brands and, besides of drawers, bye glasses stands in several tables. The styles are mixed, baking it hard to find a fit. Also, there isn't any prices at the glasses, so you need too keep asking for prices.

The customer service was poor. The communication was poor, the directions given was poor, the explanition of the sale was poor. I was at the door unable to hear the person who was standing behind the counter advising me it was ok to enter, I entered the store there was one other customer in the store who was being assisted by another sales rep. The sales rep behind the counter who advised me to enter, did not speak english very well therefore I asked for clearfalication several times on the sale glasses. Apparently, The instructions were not given directly to me, because as it turns out, I misunderstood what the directions were regarding trying on glasses due to COVID. (COVID DIRECTIONS) and there's no sign explaining steps and directions on trying on glasses and the proceedure. Then someone yelled out to me across the store, as oppose of approaching me, telling me I was doing it wrong, then I explained that I would have followed the rules if I knew what they were and if it was explained. (I really would) I Thanked him for telling me what the rules were and explained what I understood from the sales rep, cause now I know that I was only alowed to try on 10 items and place them all in the box. if I was doing it wrong, then the sales rep should have approached me again to ensure I understood as she had a lot of time watching me from behind the counter, try on all the glasses and put them back on the shelf. I will not return to this store, I would not recommmend this store. I would not recommend this company. If there was an option for zero star, then I would have selected that option.

They have a variety of glass frames to choose from and the people working at the register are great but the guy who did the eye exams is horrible he yelled at my friend, the exam was VERY short he took a phone call during the exam, and he had an AirPod in the WHOLE time. The worst thing is the bottle of wine sitting on his desk that had been opened. Horrible experience but I got some really cute glasses

I’m very happy with the level of service you get at this location, it’s probably my 2nd year getting frames and lenses from this location. Outstanding and Unbelievable Service(if google had 10 starts rating I would still give them 1000) I can’t stress enough on amazing level of service you get! Anyhow, I just resently had small accident with my faivorite pair, where small part of frame got little damaged just before my business trip, I thought I was done, and would have to give up my best and favourite pair for a long repair...long story short, Hakim’’s expert tool one quick look and in just few short min my lenses and frame were as new as it could get! Wow....I like to calling “Ninja Frame Master”!!! Thank you and God bless you guys - for providing an amazing service!!!

I have only made one visit to this location so obviously my review will only be based on my sole experience there. Yesterday, I dropped my sunglasses, causing one of the lenses to pop out. I was unable to repair the glasses myself so I went to my nearby Hakim Optical, since I had read a few online reviews about their repair services. I was served by Zeiuab, who was pleasant and easy to deal with. She fixed my sunglasses within two minutes, and even took the time during that period to tighten the screws (since the ear arms were a little loose) and give the lenses a good cleaning. Zeiuab did not even charge me for the repair job, which was a nice gesture. Some places likely would have charged me around $10, I'm sure. Thank you, Zeiuab, for the kind and prompt assistance.

Horrible optometrist experience. Optometrist did not introduce himself the entire time. Did the whole exam/eye test while wearing headphones. Answered no questions about the health of my eyes and could not appear to be more disinterested in what he was doing. Do not waste your money with this location. Go see an Optometrist who will at least fake interest in your eye health.

The eye exam section feels like you’re in a 1970s back office somewhere. Weird, but whatever. I went on a Saturday at noon. There were people working in the retail side, but no support staff on the eye exam side. I walked in and the doctor was sitting in the waiting room chairs on his cell phone. Weird and slightly unprofessional, but whatever. The doctor was a bit brusque and felt rushed, overall. Might have been because I was a few minutes late for my appointment, but it seemed disproportionate for the offense. He also had an AirPod in the entire time. I am not confident in his prescription. They can only do retinal screening by dilation, unlike every other eye exam place I’ve ever been to in the 10 years. I always have paid more for this because I rarely have the time to be unable to read or drive for a few hours. Anyway, now I have to CALL THE DOCTOR ON HIS CELL to schedule a time to COME BACK (free of charge) at a time when I won’t have to work or drive for a few hours. Lol ok. I asked for a contact lens prescription, and after acting annoyed at me, he had to go get another staff member from the retail side to refer to a chart to convert my glasses prescription(!!!) which doesn’t inspire confidence. Also I always get both a contacts and a glasses prescription - I don’t even remember the last time I had to specify. He didn’t even ask and then acted like I was inconveniencing HIM when I asked. Also, usually I buy my contacts from the the place I did my exam, after trying on a pair of my prescription. They didn’t even offer this. Guess I’m ordering online, which honestly is ok with me after this fairly bizarre experience. Overall I’m not coming back to this location for eye exams. I could have spent the same money elsewhere and gotten more professional treatment and left with more confidence that my RX is correct.

Terrible experience. The optician was unhelpful and only willing to repeat the same line that the sustem was down. The system shouldn't matter, all we were asking was for a small fix to the frame. They had the worst attitude - you could tell they wanted you out of there. Avoid this location if you can.

SENIORS BEWARE! This place is so horrible, I don't know where to begin. I brought my mother-in-law for an eye exam and knew right away that this place was a sham when all the optometrist cared about was whether she was covered by OHIP. She was in a wheelchair, and this man had no compassion as he rushed through the exam. The people selling the glasses were rude as well, pushing their Hakim brand. Not sure what the going price is for designer sunglasses but this place seemed overpriced, I will go elsewhere. Even if the price is the same I would rather give my hard earned money to a business that treats their customer with respect as opposed to another $$$$$$. Don't waste your time people!

Very nice sales lady, but the glasses were very overpriced. A few days after I bought my single pair of their home brand glasses there was a 2 for 1 sale of the whole store. I went back and asked for the deal, but the owner said no, and that the glasses i bought were already discounted to be cheaper than 50℅ off. I saw this was a blatant lie as all of the glasses i spent over an hour looking at previously--less than a week ago--were still the same price, except now were 2 for one. The guy must have though I was stupid so I just smiled and walked out, vowing never to go there again. My partner who was also there with me to buy her glasses was treated better and given a nicer case for her glasses as she had full insurance coverage. I felt that I was being treated differently because of that. Anyway, screw you hakim. You've lost yet another two customers as I'd rather pay a bit more to be treated with respect and dignity. FU.

This company and the optometrist at Queensway are thieves. Almost 2 months and still no glasses. Problem after problem from the first day. Very misleading with sales and service. I tried to contact head office with an email and five phone calls and no one responded. Aggressive supervisor Tony called me with an attitude blaming me for their incompetence. It's a fraud. Stay away. Filing a consumer complaint against them. Sir Hakim is a fraud. What a joke.

My wife has always experienced excellent customer service at this location. They always go the extra mile to make the experience wonderful. Not only is the service friendly, fast and efficient but the personal care exceeds all expectations. Our son has severe ADHD and is very busy! The staff help him to calmly pick his frames and never forget his name. The durability of the lenses and frames are exc excellent for our busy little boy. Thank you Hakim

I went there yesterday to buy a new pair of glasses. Nobody welcomed or greeted me and my husband despite the man (guess was the owner)and a blonde woman who were working there, were serving only 2 people. After have picked a couple of frames by ourselves for an estimate, we stand up like stupids near the counter...no one of them did talk to us..it seemed we were invisibles. After other 15 min the blonde, unprofessional lady ask me annoyed what I needed..she didn't even pay attention to my answer saying that they were serving other clients so we had to seat for a while. After other useless 20 min (45 min in total)while they were unpolitely laughing and gossip chatting with those 2 customers, I definitely lost my patient since I was only wasting my time so we open the store door of the store and we left. Frustranting experience.No customer service. No professionalism. Cheap quality frames. You should learn how to make business.

I went to the Queens way store. Zenab was informative and help me with all my questions. Dr. Ariiman was polite and friendly. I got my glasses in an hour. Highly recommend.

I had purchased two pairs of glasses from here and had difficulty adjusting both pairs. After several weeks of back and forth for adjustments the glasses caused me so much discomfort that I took both pairs back. Shahram and the manager were great in helping me come to a resolution by finding additional frames not on display in the showroom. The fit is more comfortable and I actually like them much better than the two original pairs. Thank you Hakim Queensway. Your customer service did not go unnoticed!

The optometrist did not perform a quality eye check though i told him that the lense he recomended was not helping with my vision focus, he didn't give a proper response to my questions, he was only very keen on the billing part.

Waste of your life, avoid. I booked through their website for an eye exam after looking for an optometrist that will do direct billing with Indian Affairs. I thought it was so convenient and was actually quite impressed with the system. Thought. I walked in and a great big sign on the counter says “EYE EXAMS $80”. Weird. He has me fill something out, takes me in and has me look at the barn thing while he puts it in and out of focus. When we moved onto the next step he asked where is my insurance or I’ll have to pay up front. I provide my Status Card and he refuses to take it and brings it over to the eyeglass place asking them what it is. I told them it’s my insurance, the website says they direct bill. Well... Apparently he’s not “registered”, whatever that means. So they want me to pay up front for my eye exam and pursue my claim directly with the insurance company, which is exactly what I was trying to avoid. When I brought up to them that the website expressly says that they direct bill, he says oh that’s the Hakim website and I’m completely separate from that. Oh, really? Because I just booked this appointment through the Hakim website. They asked me if I wanted the phone number for the Hakim on Royal York, maybe they direct bill? I asked them if they were serious, and they were. I told them I won’t be patronizing any Hakim Optical, my family won’t be patronizing any Hakim Optical, my friends won’t be patronizing any Hakim Optical, and my great great great grand babies won’t be patronizing Hakim Optical in the year 2300. That is, if this poorly-run-false-advertising-clearly-contacts-sells-these-glasses-for-less “business” is even operating in a few years. And the optometrist wears way too much cologne.

AWFUL. Not once but on two separate occasions. My spouse paid to have an eye exam in store, and then was refused a copy of his contacts prescription! I attempted to place an order for my contact lenses (previously filled at another location) and they refused me unless I booked an exam to update my prescription! Went to the Bloor/Runnymede location - they were wonderful. No questions asked. 10/10 Bloor/Runnymede will continue to receive our business for years to come.

I ordered two pairs of frames here at the Queensway location and the glasses were finished in less than one day. The sales rep woman who I believe their name was Zenab was very kind, patient and knowledgeable about the products at the store. Will definitely go back when I need more glasses! A+!!

One of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. Trying to get help and information about my options and the frames I was considering was like pulling teeth. Then I was told by the optometrist that to get the extra specs I would need over and above my prescription to order contacts I would have to get the opticians in the store to take the measurements and give them to me. When I asked them to do this, they said they couldn't because they are not dispensing contact lenses during the coronavirus. (!) Even if that makes any sense, why can you then not at least give me the information I need to be able to order them elsewhere? They sent me back to the optometrist who then came out and argued with them about this. So was unable to get contacts or frames because of complete lack of customer care and expertise. Don't know how they are still in business.
