I have been wearing glasses for decades. I have long eyelashes that bump into the lenses if the shape of the glasses is not right. I have a small head so the arms often stick a distance past my ears with the end pieces needing to be curled around my ears. I have a small bridge on my nose and I wear strong (heavy) glasses so they easily slip down my nose and create gouges on the sides of my nose. In short, shopping for a new pair of glass frames is a nightmare for me. Brenda, Visions Manager, was a dream. She gave such good, critical feedback. I found a pair of glasses in record time. I wanted them in a different color, no problem. She had the lens ground in a special way so they were not so heavy (deep gouges on the sides of my nose). I have had many compliments on these glasses, and I know it had to do with Brenda's honest assessment of many frames before these were picked. My eyelashes to not brush the lens which I love. I have come in multiple times to have them adjusted to balance length of arm, curl around my ear, and so they would not slip down my minuscule nose. I think each staff member has served my fittings at some time. They are all outstanding. Also, there is a collegial but professional tone in this store. Life is so full of anxious situations, it is lovely to come into a store, to be served by cheerful, knowledgeable staff who are also courteous and kind to each other. This is a very well managed store with employees that care about getting it right for you. I highly recommend this store. Also the selection of frames is super.

Love dealing with Max. But the manger. A lovely woman I just had the privilege of dealing with is a handful and very frontal in her communication skills. I will not be dealing with her for any reason again. Just be careful of the encounter it can be ugly. Cheers.

I thought brick and mortar stores are struggling enough as is, but apparently New Look Eyewear can afford to segregate customers from entering their store based on whether you agree to forfeit your personal information. Bunch of fascists.

Like most people my experience here was terrible. Waiting 3 weeks for my glasses. No apology. Awful customer service. I'll never go back.

Went to,get an eye exam and expected quick service for my new ' uncomplicated' glasses/lenses. I will never go back to this store, and recommend the Optometrist if he doesn't own this location that he leaves before his reputation is negatively asssociated with the store I would like to start with the positives: 1. The Optometrist was thorough. 2. The Optometrist staff processed the eye exam directly to my insurance $105 3. The first sales person who was a younger man, listened to my concerns. The negative 1. When I sat down with the sales assistant (older fellow) TOLD me I needed $800 progressives, (this was an option according to the Optometrist). I said 'NO, I don't have $800 to spend on glasses, and that I would buy readers separately to,save $$'. He told me 'NO, that this is what the Optometrist has ordered and there are NO OTHER OPTIONS'. I asked him for my prescription back and that I would do some research and come back (I wouldn't have come back and he knew it). After he got that I wasn't buying progressives and wasted my time arguing why I needed them (if I had $800- I understand the convenience of progresssives but they are very pricey) he processed the 2 for 1 (regular prescription and a pair of readers). The older sales associate didn't tell me that the order was being completed in Montreal and will take 2 weeks..... And AFTER ADDING the blue tinting to my bill after I said 'I DIDNT WANT THE TINTING (a last try to put something by on me to increase the sale) 2. I expected that my glasses would be ready in 2 days, as per STORE MARKETING.The staff told me my prescription was uncomplicated. I was told about the 2 week processing time after I spent forever trying to pick out frames in their limited selection. 3. The 2 for 1 promotion glasses are cheaply made. I chose a pair of these for my readers and had no option but to buy designer frames due to the cheaply made 2 for 1 frames. 4. All glasses that you try on in store are the glasses you receive, they do not carry 'new' frames- you get the floor model that everyone else has been trying on. I went to this store expecting to receive professional, quick service. I left feeling like I had been taken advantage of, if my husband was there, I don't think I would have received the bullying that I received to buy the $800 progressives. I will never go back. Please note, customers are more likely to tell their friends of bad service they receive than good service.

Max is brilliant! I brought in my very damaged frames, the temple was badly twisted, the lens was out and the wire that holds the lens in was broken. I thought my frames were done-skies, but thought I should bring them into New Look just in case there was any hope in reviving them. Max spent at least half an hour working his magic. When I got them back I was so amazed that they were aligned and in perfect shape again, and cleaned so well! They were not only totally fixed, they feel great to wear again. I'm so impressed! I've been a customer at the Tillicum Mall optical store, now New Look, for years and I highly recommend you seek out Max there for your optical expert needs. All the other staff are super nice too BTW.

The best optical experience I have ever had. The staff were amazing, so helpful and efficient! Got me in for an emergency last minute appointment and got my glasses done in under 2 hours when on average I have waited 2-3weeks for new lenses. The optometrist was quick and educated. This was the best experience I have had in any setting and I will definitely be coming back. Amazing staff and I will be recommending to every person I know.

The person assisting me was helpful. Lots of selection of current trends and a great 2 for 1 deal on much of the store. I found the alternate selections limited though and thatscommon right now in all the stores I've looked in. Looking for more of a classic rectangle shape for women is proving more challenging with the prevalence of the current trending shapes being majority in the round or oval categories. These below are from the men's section where I was finding most of the rectangle options but that section also aren't 2 for one and aren't "pretty" rectangular shapes but simple and more masculine.

I was very disappointed with there service when my wife purchased her lens. She went there by herself with frames it ended up costing 300dollars I was not entirely happy about this she told me though all the extras that they gave her and that she bought anti scratch lens and if they get scratched they would replace them... today when we went in for the scratch we were told that it wasn’t a manufacturer’s defect which doesn’t make sense why would you sell a lens and tell people it would be replaced if scratched but has to be manufacture defect doesn’t make sense to me very frustrating over priced and bad customer service seemed like they didn’t care when they told me this

This review is definitely overdue as I went to Visions Optical at Tillicum Mall in Victoria, BC back in August (2019) - ???? As a kid, I always wanted braces (been there, done that ????) AND glasses... Well, my childhood wish came true and at 36 years old - I got fitted for my 1st pair of eyeglasses to help improve my vision with astigmatism that I didn't even know I had! I was apprehensive about this new and sudden change as I would be wearing an accessory on my face for the world to see. I was reassured and felt so well supported by Lary Sparks, Eyewear Consultant who took the time to help me find the perfect pair of glasses that were best suited for my face and that represented my likes and style! I had called ahead of time before arriving to Visions Optical and Lary so kindly had about 20 pairs of glasses ready for me to try on as I had mentioned what I was looking for over the phone. I am beyond impressed with the outstanding customer service I received from Lary and for how I was put at ease during this new experience! Thank you SO much Lary and a BIG shout out to you for helping me restore my vision and my confidence...additionally, for also saving me money by informing me of the 2 for 1 deal on certain frames! It was a win-win all around!! I also want to acknowledge how two other helpful staff members (a male and female - sorry that I can't recall your names) assisted me with exchanging my two pairs of transitions to regular lenses as I really didn't prefer the tinted option afterall. I was pleasantly surprised how this was covered by the warranty and I didn't have to pay extra for this unexpected request. Overall, I highly recommend Visions Optical for your vision needs - the team there are truly professional, they are extremely knowledgeable and super friendly! I would have given more because I liked the appt.i had with the eye dr. But I bought 2 pairs of glasses. I wore on pair o e day and the lenses got scratched they say they will not fix for me why did I buy the extra protection for 2 years if they do not cover it .I'm going back to dr Thompson optometrist

Staff wasn’t very friendly or seemed very organized. The optometrist himself was great but the over all experience was very poor. When my glasses didn’t arrive on time I followed up and they apologized and told me another week, a week went by and nothing.. no phone call. I called a week and a half later to find out there was an issue with the lens and they had been sent back to the lab and was going to be another week. I still haven’t received my glasses, it’s been almost a month and can expect to wait continue to wait for at least another week. I’d rather have my money back. Would not recommend to anyone

I am very pleased with my recent purchase at New Look Eyewear in Nanaimo! This is my second pair of glasses from New Look, and I was just as happy with the professional service that I received and the overall experience. The staff was carefully following Covid-19 protocols so I felt very safe inside the store. As before, I found that New Look has competitive and reasonable pricing. They again had a wide selection of frames and a very helpful staff to assist me in making my choice. The excellent customer service also included the shipping of my new eyewear to me at no charge, in a timely manner, and a courtesy follow-up up call as well. I have already recommended New Look in Nanaimo to my family and friends for their eyewear needs!

Because of the great customer service in the past we did not hesitate to use them. We bought the 2 for 1glasses option at the time and both my husband and myself bought progressives that we liked. A few months went by and the arms on my glasses became very wobbly. I went back several times for them to be tightened and finally a note was put on my file My husband got transition lenses and they had to be replaced within a year as they were flawed and he couldn’t see clearly with them. He just brought the second pair back as the arm came right off the frame and they could not be repaired - not surprising they don’t carry those frames anymore and although he only used them a handful of times they were past the warranty date so there was nothing they could do. He was told to take it to a jeweller in the mall who laughed and said he can’t mend plastic. Needless to say we are very disappointed and after spending over 1500 dollars at the store we will take our business elsewhere as we are getting ready for new glasses in the very near future.

The owner and staff were very accommodating and friendly. Above and beyond service. After getting cataract surgery they replaced the lenses for me and helped me pick out the best pair of frames for myself. Very kind, caring and patient with myself as I am a senior. Would highly recommend.

One of my worst experiences ever! I have been going to Visions Optical for about 4 years. I go there because of Dr Klar. He is a great professional, very caring and always spot on. Unfortunately the staff there.... I will tell you my experience: I went for my yearly eye exam end of July. All went well and I saw some sun glasses and decided to go back with my daughter and buy 2 pairs. Unfortunately we only noticed at home that one of them had a scratch. Due to my work schedule I was able to go back after about 6 days to ask for another pair. I was told by one of the staff members, tall blond lady, that they can replace the lens but can't exchange the glasses. So far so good. I agreed to have the lens changed and I was waiting for a call to pick them up. 2 weeks later I called the store: still no lens. Yesterday, after more than 1 month I go back to the store. The sore never tried to contact me throughout the 4 weeks that passed. The same tall blond lady, no name tags, was doing some repairs on a girls glasses. She was drinking coffee while working, taking her time, never acknowledged me for about 30 minutes. Not even "hello". I understand she was doing something but if she had time to drink coffee she could of at least say "hello" and let me know how long before she can talk to me. After half an hour she tells me still no lens for my glasses and didn't even apologize for not looking at me for 30 minutes. When I asked for another pair of glasses or a refund she said " only the manager can do it and she will be in on Wednesday " I asked for a phone number for the manager and without any shame she give me the store number and didn't mention anything. Nice costumer service. I will go back and talk to the manager, get my money back, never go there again. I hope Dr Klar has another office where I can see him. Don't go to Visions Optical if you have another option. They should hire new people.

From start to finish, I felt like a valued customer. from Lary and a new employee from Quebec ( sorry I can't remember your name) to the optometrist Dr. Klar, it was an enjoyable experience. I ordered 2 pairs and was told that it would take 2 weeks. I got a call after waiting only 11 days, that my glasses were ready for pick up. I was very pleased... Thank you . It was my first time at Visions, but it won't be my last.

Well when I initially picked out my 4 pairs ($1400) the woman who helped us was wonderful. My husband went in there a day ago w/ a couple of friends they were very rude & & called security on them. My husband mentioned how we have spent a lot of money there over the past few years(We have a dog who like to chew anything of mine especially my glasses) She was still very ignorant. I definitely will not be bringing my business back. U just lost a very good customer because of your bitchness

Terrible service! Phone in advance to ensure they could make new lenses for my readers. Oh yes they had 1 set of blanks, we even measured my existing frames in millimeters! Yes they could make them no issues, I asked if Tuesday would be ok, YES Tuesday! Went in today and guess what no one to cut the lenses that oh ya! They couldn’t find the lenses either not that they looked very hard. Very disappointed. He couldn’t even be bothered to offer an option to do the lenses another day, it would have been disappointing but at least to know when a tech was scheduled!! But nope nothing! We have been clients of Vision Optical for 20 years! 6 family members who will not be returning!

Very disappointed with this company we went there and asked numerous times if we could make sure our sunglasses would be here in 10 days as we are leaving for Mexico they assured us that they would 2 staff members did... we spent over $600 and said we will see u on November 8 for the sunglasses they said yes see u then.My boyfriend called in the morning to find out they were closed as moving back to regular location so he drove to there office and was talked to rudely by staff as they were moving back to location once he told her what was going on she looked for them only to find his and not mine so now one of us have no sunglasses for Mexico. I will never use there company again and will NOT recommended them.

With a very thorough examination they determined my needed prescription and sent me away with brand new glasses and clear vision in the same day. All while cheerfully following the covid guidelines. Little disappointed I've had to wait over 3 weeks for my glasses to come in and still waiting for my sun glasses to arrive. I was told less than 2 weeks from the day I paid for them. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend going to this place, I've gotten glasses from other eye care places and received them in less than 2 weeks. They didn't even call me when my glasses came in I had to call them.

Really disappointed in Visions. Was a loyal customer both for eye exams and glasses. Booked an appointment by phone, confirming the cost of the exam. When I arrived for my exam, they attempted to charge me nearly double. $95 instead of the $50 that I had confirmed. I politly explained that I had confirmed the cost when I booked - nobody had called me to inform me of the change (and save me the hour drive each way). Shady!!! I will encourage friends and family to take their business elsewhere.
