Beware of this scammer!! Takes your money and runs away with excuse after excuse and doesnt do what she says she is going to do Comes across as being an “expert” but in reality she knows very little about her industry. My wife and i hired Catherine to provide new glasses and frames. Claims her prices were better than buying through an optician..we wound up with cheap frames that broke twice and low quality lenses. She blames everyone else instead of herself even the local optician she deals with in Victoria and Vancouver. My poor wife waited for her twice broken frames to be delivered to our house and because i had questioned her knowledge about the lenses she got defensive. In fact she told my wife she didnt want to come to the house because of me and my questions. After my wife gave her an ultimatum she didnt have the courtesy to bring them to the house. Rsther she mailed her the lenses with no frames.. so muvh for personel service.! She also wanted my wife to promote her business around the hospital where she nurses and has many friends. Thankgoodness we didnt do that. Stay far away from this scammer. Order from your local optician. What an absolute nightmare. All she talked about was her daughters problems in the states - possibly the reason she never returned the calls on time. Really crappy service. I have used Cats Eyes for over 10 years. You simply cannot find the Huge selection of frames that are offered! As well, Catherine offers excellent service! She spent an hour with me selecting frames and fitting me. I strongly recommend Cats Eyes !

Bath Set

Use caution! This person is on her own and does not have the same resources as larger company. She doesn’t have co-workers to ask advice and she doesn’t do enough business to have full support from suppliers. She has a ‘NO REFUNDS NO RETURNS under any circumstances’ policy which I did not know about until after the fact. In my case she was not able to deal with my particular request (even though she said she could). I got one pair of glasses from her, but they weren’t working for me. She did not order another lens for me to try (which is standard industry practice), and so, after months of delays and excuses (the main one being my computer screen was too high, even though I couldn’t see laptop either!), she finally said I should go somewhere else because “she couldn’t make me happy.” However, she was only prepared to refund 1/3 of the amount I gave her. It was only after a third party got involved, and more months went by, before a return of 2/3 the amount I gave her was returned. The frames that I had purchased made up part of the amount that I received, but they were so damaged after she removed the lenses, that I could not sell them, which is what I was hoping to do. So really, I didn’t even get 2/3. The optician I went to after her had no problem working with my prescription, and I had glasses that I could see with within 2 weeks (and I could see my computer screen fine). If you just have a basic single vision prescription, and you are prepared to purchase frames from her stock, I’m sure she will be fine, but anything more complicated than that, and I would highly recommend you go somewhere else. She even sent my back to my optometrist at one point for an additional prescription for an office lens (I had to pay for the visit) because she was not able to do that on her own. The next optician I went to had no problem with the office lens and was surprised she had sent me back to my optometrist. Also, she is no cheaper than any other place I checked into, but I went with her initially because she had promised better service than the others could provide. My experience with her is that was not the case.

I had a very good experience with Catherine. I have some odd issues with fitting frames to my head and Catherine was endlessly patient in working with me to find a set that worked. She is well connected to the opticians’ network in Victoria and was able to source frames and a remake of my glasses at a very reasonable fee! I’m sure she didn’t make a cent on me, but as she says, her goal is to make her clients happy. After all, we wear our glasses all the time and they have to be right! She hung in with me until they were right! She is very knowledgeable about styles that suit and styles that fit. I love my new specs ????
