I had an appointment August 24, 2020 for 330 pm and arrived 5 min earlier noticed another customer waiting beside me at no time did they tell me doctor running late when doc arrived customer went in let me say that there were three people looking at frames same family no social distancing. I decided to contact my insurance while I waited . A customer arrives claims he had 4 pm appt he was let in other customers were told after being let in their appt was 445pm. Too many in small store. I want to add while I'm trying to speak with insurance the wife came to me for papers didn't say doctor was ready so I Said not yet I was trying to get a last visit date.when 4 pm customer went in I was upset waiting they told me (owner) my appt was later and it would be only 10 min more I argued my appt was before that customer wife says she came to me 3 times that's a lie I said owner switched spot he said he would never do that I was upset with insurance, and true north, not respecting distancing and the lie about appt time I chose to leave. Wife says bye Overall I believed it was a good place but quality of lenses and frames is not there not to mention at this time of pandemic as everywhere else allows one person in not three adults in same family. You also need to be honest and transparent and respectful.to customers since they bring other customers. I will never go there or my family again. Beware anyone that disses other nearby practices sounds desperate.... Edit: Since the owner of this establishment seems to attempt to discredit anyone who has a problem with their business. 1. No appointment card was ever given to me, I also never recieved a call that the appointment was changed. Which would be common courtesy 2. I was never asked to put a mask on because I strongly believe in staying safe during this time. 3. I only review companies when they provide bad service, so others can be cautious

I'm what one would call a 'glasses newbie', and the managing optician, Mr. Gill, made my transition into the world of glasses a smooth and easy one. He was speedy, courteous, personable and very professional. I had gone to the LensCrafters the day before I had come to True North, and was quoted nearly four hundred dollars for both my eyeglasses and prescription. After discovering this quaint little gem, I left with the same pair of glasses and prescription (Ray Ban Clubmaster) for nearly half the price; just $200. My glasses were ordered on a Thursday, and came back on a Saturday. The service was quick and painless. The store itself hosts a wonderful and very clean enviroment. I have already recommended the place to two of my eyeglasses wearing compadres, and I can't wait to recommend it to more. 10/10

great service and great customer care provided at this specific location. the eye examination when well was very thorough and particular to my eye car needs. very clean place with a great selection at a surprisingly affordable price. always drove by this place and now after 25 years I finally stopped by and I can say I'm very satisfied with the outcome of my visit . will surely go back again.

As soon as I walked through the door I felt very welcomed by the kind and knowledgeable staff. The store was quite busy (4 customers infont of me) but the gentleman behind the desk was quite efficient and got to me quite quickly! I also loved the wide selection of designer eyeware! To top it all of the prices seemed too good to be true! I will be back in the future for sure.

This is a very late review since I went here in July-August. The customer service is great. They have a wide selection of glasses. Also, since it's covid-times, they make you feel safe!! I wanted to change from my regular glasses style to something new, and they found really stylish glasses that also met my wants (nose pads, plastic, etc) from just 5 picks!! I was stunned!! The glasses look amazing on me. When I retrieved my glasses (w/ prescriptions), I was a bit shy to have it adjusted and left asap...but I had to come back eventually for an adjustment. They let you come in and have your glasses adjusted anytime...hope I don't have to do so in the future but its just a nice-to-have. The prices are really affordable too, especially for someone with really heavy prescriptions like me. Thanks! I will see them again in a year.

Took my kids for eye exams after a notification from their school. They treated us with respect and as if we were their only customers. Gobind as well as Paulina are awesome they answer all of your concerns and guide you through the best costumer service experience ever. My kids love going there, so hard to take them out of the store. Every time I called they answered politely and they also responded to both my emils and voice messages on a timely fashion. I will be taking my inlaws soon for eye exams as they were so pleased to hear about our experience. Also we recommended to friends and they will be going soon as well. Great place , nice and friendly people. Ive always visted here for exam and prescription glasses. They offer discounts up to 50% and above on branded ones also. If the glasses and the lense cost you 700$ you can get it for 300 $ easy under your insurance coverage.

I had an overall great experience at this location. Right away the staff were very welcoming and helped me choose from a large variety of different glasses. They helped me choose the glasses quickly and also answered all of my questions and concerns in a very friendly and knowledgeable manner. Im so happy of their service. From the time I choose my frame which they have beautiful amd affodable selection. They ave very helpful and attentive. Staff are appoachable and kind with a smile in their eyes ???? Gail was very accomodating too. He adviced me well with my options that is good with our insurance coverage. Location is very easy to locate. Just the first store from 401 exit weston going south. Parking in the plaza and bus stop is nearby. Also there are lots of stores in the area. There are restaurants too. Highly recommended. Will come back again ang again for sure not just for me but for my whole family.

Himself and the lady who also helped us with everything. Never in my life have I received this kind of customer service. As for price, extremely low compared to other places we checked out. I am a senior citizen. I tried contacting them regarding broken frames on new glasses I purchased through them. Left 2 text messages and two phone messages over the past two weeks now without a response. Now that they have my money they don’t know me anymore. Nice to know. Merry Christmas. I bought the glasses and frames from you but for one pair of frames that I purchased elsewhere. The frames I purchased elsewhere are perfectly fine, (yours are the ones that are broken my man). This does not explain why you have been ignoring me. You charged be almost $500.00 for cheap plastic frames from China. (Basically readers that you can buy for about $ 40.00 tax in at any Shoppers Drug Mart. In fact, Shoppers are a better quality frame in my opinion. Can’t take an honest review unless it’s a 5 star review in your favour? Sound pretty defensive to me. I’ll just dispose of the glasses that are broken and write it off as another Life lesson. The public will believe who seems credible and I can back up everything that I say. Can you say the same? You might want to start by getting your facts straight. Adios.

I called asking for my prescription because i had an emergency and needed to purchase glasses at my local optical and the gentle men said he would fax to me i had to wait ON WEEK!! for my prescription to be simply emailed to me. and when i called back the week after he was really rude on the phone and told me he would send me the prescription when ever he has time and hung up on me ! Terrible. They need to hire a new staff

I’ve been a client of True North Optical since it opened and have been consistently impressed with the level of service and selection of designer frames. Polina and Gobind are very knowledgeable about their products and ask questions that help determine your individual needs, which is key when you have so many options and are terribly indecisive. I have been extremely weary of leaving my house due to COVID, but needed to replace my current frames so I booked an appointment (via their website which is SUPER convenient). I was pleased to see that they have taken every precaution to ensure that their clients feel safe within the store. Since my last pre-COVID visit, they have added glass panelling, hand sanitizer stations, client-specific baskets to ensure frames are cleaned after each appointment, floor stickers to ensure that clients are a safe distance apart and were constantly disinfecting high-touch surfaces. It’s been extremely taxing for businesses to navigate the ever-changing COVID restrictions, but especially difficult for small businesses. Investing in these items and implementing heightened safety protocols show that they don’t just care about the bottom line, they care about the health and wellness of their clients. Thank you True North Optical for a wonderful shopping experience!!

These guys are great. They took the time to help me find something very specific that I was looking for. I found the right frames, but, because my head is a bit wider than normal, they special ordered frames that I could try. They were very patient and I never felt rushed. The glasses were a perfect size and perfectly functional. I had some follow-up questions regarding the insurance billing, and they followed up with me very quickly. Great service and great staff. Highly recommend.

From the moment I stepped in I already felt welcome. Not only was the design and look of the store so appealing, the friendliness and the help I immediately got as I stepped in blew me away. They truly do have the best prices....and I used to get my glasses from clearlycontacts. Came in thinking I would spend over 500 because of my vision and special lenses but was I surprised at how fair priced everything was! Plus it took two business days instead of the normal 7 to come in! If this wasn't the best, friendliest and speediest customer service and quality I've ever received then I don't know what is. Sooooo much better than the big retail stores like Hakim or LensCrafters. Got to know the owner as well, I can see why this place was rated 5 stars!!!

Offered me free eye exam lol if I would buy glasses . People should read this and remember nothing is free in this world .Always wonder what kind of eye exam it truly is .Dont think anyone (doctor ) would work for free . I just started going to True North Optical after having gone to many different eyeglasses stores in the past and my only regret is not having come here sooner. They have great customer service, polite to all their customers and have great eyeglasses in stock or available to them. I was able to go ahead with glasses that were in stock and have an order with customized clip ons for the sun for such a great price I am so happy with my purchase and experience. They are just off of the highway so it is easy to get to. Highly recommend.

I went to Lens Crafters and I was told that I had to pay $600 for my prescription Prada glasses, so I decided to come to True North to compare. I left with the same pair of glasses half of the price that I was told earlier. The staff were really nice and the selection was great! 10/10 would recommend.

Gill is great!!! Very patient, honest, and if there is an issue, he resolves it. I’m up to 6 pairs of glasses since December for my family and I paid half the amount I used to pay at those other places. He always maintains that customer service that you cannot find anywhere. Went to get my prescription glasses and Sunglasses there in May of this year, the customer service was excellent however I had to take my prescription glasses back I wasn't able to see closely. Took it back and they fixed it no problem, however I'm still not able to wear them because I still have to remove them if I'm reading, using my phone just about had to remove them if I'm doing anything up close, this is my 4th prescription glasses and I've never had this issue. I really didn't feel like going back with the same problem so I just went back to my old glasses and call it a day, I honestly know I'll never return there.

I'm 52 years of age; buy higher-end lenses for my Mykita frames. I came across True North Optical through a simple flyer and had some time so I gave Gobind (the owner) a visit. Within 4-5 months I've now bought two sets of lens and could not be more pleased. Service was great, price was more than fair, the guy seems honest/sincere and knows what he's talking about. Would have no issue in recommending this place.
