Our family highly recommends Island Optical & Eyecare Ltd. The Optometrist we see is fantastic. He is friendly, thorough and knowledgeable. I always feel very comfortable to ask questions, which he answers in plain language. Our young kids even look forward to going to the Eye Doctor. The Opticians and front line staff are second to none. They were very knowledgeable and always provide excellent service and advice. Best of all, I found frames that I LOVE, which I never would have found without their suggestion.

After moving back to PEI and in need of an eye exam, I took the recommendation to go to Drs Hickey, Burke & Associates. I contacted them and they redirected me to Island Optical (an affiliate or something maybe?). I inquired about contact lenses and had an eye exam. When I had an eye exam, the doctor wanted me to come back a few months later for an eye scan. I tried my contact lenses, they didn't help my vision all that much. When I had my next appointment at Hickey, Burke I asked about the prescription since it seemed like a significant departure from my previous prescription and they said they couldn't look into it because I had lost one of the contact lenses (fair enough, my fault for losing it, I guess). They gave me a new trial set and said that they'd look into them when I had my scan. I had my scan at Island Optical in May 2019 at this clinic and they didn't even ask about the contact lenses. It's July now and I haven't even been contacted to ask how the lenses were or given any info about how the eye scan went. Their communication to patients could use a LOT of work. I would recommend to friends and family to look elsewhere.

Service wasn't great by receptionist, selection of glasses was worse. Eye doctor however was lovely.

The doctor i had the appointment was very nice and friendly. staffs were nice and friendly and helpful. the only thing i would like to mentioned that about the eye glass.The pair was good but it wasn't fully cleaned after the work was done on it. I mean at least just clean the edge of the glass frames and just make it presentable I guess. Other than that everything was good.

Very bad customer services from the front line staff. Receptionists didn't know their job. Doctor was great though. I would never ever go back to that place. I asked receptionist to put some selected frames aside untill I come back from eye check up with doctor and she messed up. She didn't know where did she put it and that just gave me more work to do. Again I had to go through all frames to find best for me so I decided to leave that place and get glasses from somewhere else. Receptionist also told me that she will email me my prescription but It has been 24 hours and I haven't heard back from her or received my prescription from her. Very very bad customer service.

I have never experienced better service. Maybe these naysayers are never satisfied. The front staff and Optician were efficient and friendly. I was offered coffee while I waited and made to feel very comfortable. The Optometrist was extremely professional, showing exceptional knowledge and she had an excellent “bedside manner”. My prescription was available on time and fitted with the same courtesy. If I was able, I would give this firm ten stars. I unreservedly recommend this firm for eye care.

Excellent experience. Covid measures and sanitation are top notch. Friendly staff and a relaxing, patient, yet professional atmosphere. At no point did I feel rushed or pressured while choosing my glasses. Staff helped me to find just the right pair (trying on over 20) with no rush. All pairs were then taken and safely sanitized before being put back on display. So glad I booked my eye appointment with Island Optical.
