I have been a patient at HTV for more than 30 years and have always been incredibly satisfied with the experience. HTV is a retailer that adopts to the times and has the vast selection of optical and sun frame. The optometrist's use of the latest equipment to conduct eye health exams is second to none - I always leave knowing that my eyes have had a complete check up. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and provides great pre, during and post sales service. I highly recommend HTV to anyone looking for a comprehensive eye exam and a buying experience completely customized to their specific budgetary or fashion needs.

I bought my 3rd pair of glasses here today. I didn't have an appointment for my exam and they found me a spot between 2 other clients. Like every time there was a great selection of glasses, the staff was very friendly and my glasses were ready litteraly 15 minutes after i figured out which one i wanted. My husband and I were in Montreal for the weekend and he forgot his contacts at home. We called Harry Toulch on a Saturday morning, and an optometrist saw him right away and he had his prescription contacts in less than an hour! They didn't overcharge us either which is typical when these things are rushed. Awesome experience! Would recommend this optical boutique to all :)

If you need glasses and/or contacts DO NOT go anywhere else!! Harry Toulch has the biggest and best selection of glasses in Montreal. The friendly and helpful staff won't let you walk out the door with glasses that do not suit you. I promise! Last week after I had an eye exam ,the optometrist personally picked out 7 pairs of glasses that looked amazing on me. My biggest problem was choosing just 1 pair to buy. The optometrist also assisted me with finding the right pair of contact lenses. I was skeptical that I could be a contact lense wearer again due to previous problems with my eyes and now I needed readers :( I tried on a few pairs on while at the store. A few adjustments were made and I was sent me home with some samples. After a few days I knew which pair was comfortable and gave the best vision. They took the time to explain what was happening to my over 40 year old eyes and which contacts would work and which wouldn't. Amazing customer service. Thank-you Harry Toulch for all of your help. This eyeglass shop is a gem! They have a great selection of frames at reasonable prices and turnaround for lenses was quick! Michael the ophthalmologist is very knowledgeable. Keep an eye out for Linda (short hair) as she knows her frames and is brutally honest in a good way. I cannot recommend them enough!

Really poor customer service. I came in with my partner to shop for glasses for the both of us and the sales people barely offered to help in any way, even after we were in the store for close to an hour. When I asked for their options on the frames I had selected, they were nonchalant and disinterested. I ended up with a pair of frames which hurt so I can't wear them because they didn't even take the time to adjust them for me when I picked them up. I would go back to get them adjusted, but as mentioned, the service was so poor I wouldn't trust them to get it right. I don't recommend.

Hands down best service in montreal! I broke my glasses just before leaving on a two week trip and because of the one year warranty I got a completely new pair, (new frame, new lens) free of charge, and they got it done in two days. So this is the place to go.

Good optometrist and good selection of models, but bad service from the staff. Picked up the glasses today, and they practically just tossed them at me. They acted very annoyed when I asked for a case, and they didn't adjust the glasses, so now they easily slide down my nose. When you pay over $1k for a pair of glasses, you expect a minimum of service. Also, they made us come back because my wife's glasses were still not ready, 3 weeks after purchase.

I asked for an eye exam online and the next day they booked me in. It's so fast! Dr. Toulch is very nice and experienced. My exam went well. Even after I chose the frame, he came to check if everything was okay. The stuff members are very helpful. It took me awhile to select a proper frame, but they were patient and tried very hard to help. And I got my new glasses just in a few days, sooner than I expected. I appreciate what they did and would recommend this place.

MIchael Toulch is the sweetest, most brilliant optometrist I've ever had the good fortune to meet. If you're a brokeback bohemian, he'll go out of his way to make it work for you. But he's no pushover. I'm not saying he'll give you a free pair of glasses. He will, however, do his best to work with your budget and what he thinks is best for your needs, which he truly listens to. He knows what's right for you, and he'll help you make it happen. He hooked me up with the most amazing pair of prescription movie star shades of all time -- for much less than everyone said it would cost. He took my requests into consideration and cut and colored the lenses like a genius (even though the so-called lens experts said it couldn't be done). I recommend him and his store wholeheartedly.

Are you ready for one of those unbelievable “ it only happens once in a lifetime” spooky intuition stories? I came in here one day after having spontaneously booked an eye appointment. I remember being taken aback at how through the exam was overall. I passed all the tests without an issue, and was told I had 20/20 vision. Most optometrists would have left it at that and sent me on my way. But Michael had a gut feeling that all wasn’t as it should be. He requested we run a few more tests just to be sure… and it turns out his gut instinct was spot on, and I had a partially detached retina. This could have caused blindness within a matter of weeks as it was so unusually placed. Its placement also meant it wouldn’t have been picked up by the standard examination lot's of other optometrists provide. He then was able to procure a meeting with me on the SAME day with a specialist across town, who then booked a operation the following day. All I can say is that due to Michaels intuition and impeccable examination process we avoided me losing my sight in one eye, which would have been pretty terrible! So yes, 100% recommended!!

This was the best shopping experience. I hate spending hours in stores. Once I found the perfect frame in the rebates section ($45 for those frames) I was told they already had my prescription lenses ready. 15 minutes later I had my glasses!! This was the third shop that I checked out for glasses and it was at this store that I found my favorite pair! I must admit, all the shops I checked out had top notch service and were extremely helpful and courteous. With that said, Harry Toulch Optometrists had the nicest store, most helpful and personable employees, largest selection of nice frames, and were extremely accommodating in every way. I can't see much without my glasses and when I told Sophie she tossed me some free contacts that I could use in order to actually be able to see how I look with the glasses on. It was actually a pleasure to find glasses for once, all thanks to Sophie's helpful and kind personality. They were extremely understanding and compassionate and I didn't feel like they were trying to coerce me into buying anything, although they provided helpful advice and opinions on the glasses I tried on. They gave me a great deal on my glasses and I was extremely satisfied with the whole experience. You might as well go to this place first because it's where you're most likely going to find a pair of sweet frames and their prices on lenses are extremely competitive. I should also mention that my glasses were ready in LITERALLY 20 minutes after I committed to a pair. I'm going to come back here to get my next pair of glasses!!!

Had a pretty bad experience with customer service here. Had an issue with an insurance claim situation, and instead of communicating maturely with me, the staff just talked to me in a very condescending way. Please note that it is never okay to call a full grown adult customer "sweetie". Honestly not sure why this place has such high reviews, won't be going back.

Let me start by saying that this place gives AMAZING service. I got my glasses from Harry Toulch and when I went to pick them up I quickly realized that there was an issue with my prescription. I had gone to do my eye exam at a different place and they gave me the wrong prescription. I was given another eye exam by the owner Michael, who would not let me leave without rectifying the situation. Not only did they fix my prescription but they also fixed my glasses on the spot. I could not ask for better service. Their eyewear selection is stellar, they have Oliver Peoples which is rather hard to find in Montreal! Very reasonable prices especially for the lenses. Extremely pleased and will definitely be returning in the future!

This has been by far the best optometrist in the area. Great choice of frames and attentive staff. My family has been going here for years. However I was very disappointed when I went in to renew my prescription last week. There is a very inconsistent approach to mask wearing here, ranging from below the nose to on the chin and hanging from one ear. I also noticed the technician taking a phone call hanging up and not disinfecting his hands before handling my glasses! I was there for about an hour and never saw any staff member disinfect their hands. I felt unsafe through the whole process.

Where to start, its about a year now that I shop exclusively at Harry Toulch, the location on St Laurent is like a candy store to me, I’m captivated just by what I see walking by the window. Every time I’ve needed a new pair of glasses the staff is always more than accommodating. It seems only after a few encounters when I come into the store to shop I feel I’m dealing with family. They always have the latest and greatest from all of my favourite brands with suggestions that are truly personalized, and for when I over shoot ( and pick something really unfitting) there is a comfortability and honestly among the staff to hint otherwise. Be it for optical or sun glasses from simple and elegant to over the top bonkers there really are no other places in my mind that offer the same caliber of service or selection. I purchased frame and lenses for $650 from Toulch. After two years, the frame broke in a way that is unusable, not being able to hold one lens at all. Toulch's solutions included buying a replacement part of the frame for $250.00 or buying a new frame and new lenses. The manufacturer suggested that the lenses could have been cut to the wrong size. Toulch offered to examine the eyeglasses, but this offer resulted in nothing, as to date, Toulch has kept my eyeglasses and money. From a different retailer, I purchased new frame and lenses for less than $90. That is less than 1/7 the price paid at Toulch. These new glasses have not broken yet in over a year and I still have them in my possession.

Dr. Michael Toulch was very kind and knowledgeable and he also explained the pros and cons of progressives so that I can make an informed decision as to whether or not I should buy them. I got a very thorough eye exam from Dr. Michael Toulch, who addressed all my questions and concerns with great patience and care. I was given new contacts to try and got to browse a very extensive selection of frames. The service was professional and the staff were very knowledgeable. Since they have their own lab, they were able to get my glasses to me fast--and for much less than I expected. My new glasses look and feel great.
