Extremely well run clinic, doctors are always able to fit you in, in an emergency. Dr. Hall has been so kind and helpful on all occasions to my husband and me for over 30 years, hope he doesn’t retire soon but we’ll deserves it!
I first meet Dr Ritchie 17 years ago when I had laser surgery at the TLC clinic. The before and aftercare at Water Street Eye care was amazing. Since then Dr Ritchie has cared for my three children, two of which wear glasses and my husband who has perfect vision but always seems to have job related issues with foreign objects landing in his eyes (he is a mechanic). The entire staff are so welcoming and helpful it is always a pleasant experience.

I booked an appointment to pick up my glasses for 9am on January 14, 2020 to pick up my glasses. 9: 35 am I went to the receptionist to book for a later date and she found someone to help me right away. It would have been greatly appreciated if I was given to option to wait or rebook at check in for the appointment at 8:55 am to avoid unnecessary exposure.

I highly recommend this optometry office! They have been absolutely amazing at helping me with glasses. After multiple attempts with progressive lenses, they are making sure that I get into the correct lens for my eyes. They have been so great to work with!

since they joined FYI, it's just not the same. staff are still friendly, but now I always feel rushed. I have been a long time patient and sad that the atmosphere has changed so much.
We have been big fans of Water Street Eyecare in Cambridge for over 15 years. From prescription glasses to contact lenses and eye health both Dr. Jason Ritchie and Dr. Smith have been wonderful and professional to deal with for our entire family. I highly recommend them. They have earned a five star rating, and if I could give them six stars, I would.

I have been going here since I was a child. Always a lovely environment. Dr. Ritchie is always welcoming and knows you by name. Makes you feel like family! Jamie helped me pick out some new glasses, she found the perfect pair that I wouldn’t have picked myself. Jamie made the experience very easy and quick! She was lovely to work with :)
I have been going to Water Street Eye Care since I started wearing glasses well over 25 years ago. I can't say enough about everyone who works there - everyone is friendly and helpful. I love that I can get my glasses there - the frames and styles are always current. I highly recommend them!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! They have a huge selection of frames, are diligent with COVID screening and safe practices which I appreciated very much!! The dispenser Hayle was very sweet, professional and attentive. I have a tricky prescription, so I was happy she double checked with her coworker. The glasses are fabulous, stylish and fit well. Extremely busy when I arrived, didn't have time to wait so unfortunately will need to reschedule. Will keep you updated. Today's update Feb 5th/20. I am so glad I decided to return and give FYi a second chance. Dr. Michael Hall was fabulous as were the rest of the staff. Dr. Hall was quick to offer me his apologies for my first visit. I am happy I returned I was extremely pleased at how helpful and informative Dr. Hall was. They have all the new computerized equipment that they have at their disposal to ensure the highest level of care possible. Highly recommend FYi to everyone for their eyecare.

Treated me poorly after they found out I had minimal insurance. The optometrist was rude and short. Don't care if you last customer was hard, I had Vaild questions and they refused to spend time with me answering them. They talked me into buying buying frames and lenses from them over ordering online and in 9 months their glasses have broken on me. For 400$ I expect my frames and lenses to outlast a single year as my prescription doesn't change. Will not be coming back. This place is just a scam.

Our family has been receiving expert eye care from Water Street Eyecare for over 25 years. The staff are friendly, efficient and incredibly helpful when it comes to selecting the appropriate eyewear for each family member. Dr. Hall is exceptional as is Jocelyn. Highly recommend this clinic.
My husband has been going to Water Street Eyecare and I finally got the courage to make an appointment for myself. Dr. Ted Smith is amazing and made me right at home in the office. Turns out I needed glasses and the lady who helped me pick the right pair was very patient as I tried on frame after frame. The ladies who ran the front desk were helpful and funny and made the office welcoming. Glad I made the decision to come here!

Great Experience! I am very please to share that my experience at FYidoctors was amazing, I was in quick, the facility was very clean and all proper covid protocol was adhered to. Dr Ritchie was fantastic and showed me all of my options. I was very impressed with some of the new technology they had. I was then able to pick out my frames and Callum was very friendly and knowledgeable in setting me up with my new glasses. They were ready within days, and I am so glad to be able to transition from reading to the computer screen without struggling. Thank you team at FYidoctors.
My family were Dr. Michael Hall’s first patients & wouldn’t even toy with the idea of going anywhere else. With the addition of the other optometrists, the atmosphere has always remained the same...never rushed & always professional & up to date testing.
We have been patients of Dr. Michael Hall for upwards of 25 years, and now we also see his son! We have never had less than excellent service - from the friendly front desk, to the optometrists themselves, and the helpful ladies that assist in choosing frames and fit my glasses so well - this is a warm and welcoming clinic.
This was a great experience! Dr. Deanna Di Renzo was thorough and explained things clearly. Jamie, who helped me choose my new glasses, was very friendly and patient, recognising that I'll have to look at myself in these glasses for years. She completed the paperwork efficiently and was kind and supportive throughout. I appreciate her help and advice. I'll definitely recommend this group practice.
Kudos to the kind and caring reception staff. On the phone and arriving in the office, they are welcoming and helpful, with a focus on patient care. I have been a patient of “Dr. Mike” for many years and feel that when I visit , he welcomes me like a friend, is always aware of my own unique needs and clearly explains all tests and their results. When I needed an immediate appointment, the Team made it happen and for that I am extremely appreciative!
Purchased safety glasses through work and it took over 2 weeks to get them. When I went to pick them up, the lady tried to force them on my face. I am an adult and perfectly capable of putting my own glasses on without stabbing myself in the face. She said they were too loose, when they were so tight they hurt. I told her they were too tight, but she ignored me and made them even tighter. From start to finish, it took less than 2 minutes. Walked out in frustration and when I tried to wear them yesterday, they hurt everywhere and I now have divots behind my ear, 24 hours later. Horrible service from the fitting staff. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Use to love this place until i had a weird eye pain at work. Was killing me and couldnt get me in for almost 3 weeks! Dr Ted Smith was always amazing to me and i know this wasnt him, however if you cant make 30 minutes for an emergency sooner then 2 weeks, especially when i said i would see whoever... Lost all respect from me. Construction workers skip lunches to meet deadlines and hate what they do. These guys love what they do but would never stay open 15 minutes late or skip a lunch to cure someone with something so simple!
December 21/21. I popped in to have 2 new lenses placed in my frames. As in the past, Callum took care of me personally. He replaced the lenses, adjusted the frames, replaced the pads and screws. He explained that the flexible frames are more prone to have lenses pop out over time. Yes, a draw back; but my choice. However, he's always there to fix same. I asked for a quote on a new pair of back up lenses (already have their frame) and he was very accommodating; with a fair price. I wanted to go ahead right away, but Callum recommended I try the new lenses and consider the price difference for, with and without bifocals. About $80.00. To a retiree, some thought is required. To summarize, Callum is great and my experience this time was seamless. Well done. Well now; I have been going to this clinic for many years. All the staff are fantastic. However, I have seen a gradual decline in the actual lenses replacement process. That I would rate as a 2. This last time the replacement bifocal lenses was ordered in August ant here it is mid-October and nothing. I called to inquire and it had disappeared. If after searching, it isn't located; HERE WE GO AGAIN. The lense had to be replaced due to the bi-focal line being angled improperly. Stay tuned. This isn't the first of my experiences; there have been more over the years. They need to change lense making contractors. I'm sad to say that after settling this mess, I won't be back. It's a shame, as the staff are terrific. Stephen Scott Follow up. After leaving 2 messages I received a call back about my lense status. It disappeared. They had to reorder. Another long wait blamed upon CV-19. That excuse is wearing thin for me. I expressed my sincere disappointment and requested a partial refund, due to this incident. They came back with a 25% refund when I pick up the lense. I'm sorry, but since FYI took over, this place place has slipped. I won't close off yet, until I receive the lense, it is cut/installed correctly and I get my refund. Stay tuned Nov/24/20 Apologies for not posting sooner. I did get a call to p/u my glasses. In summary, I extremely well received; as usual. The staff are professional and personable. Everything went A1. Unfortunately, I won't be back. The lab(s) they use are below standard and that's what pills down my rating. 5 stars without the lab. 3 stars with the lab. I hope others have a much better experience. I sorry to leave. December 8/20 After dealing with FYI customer service and Callum Gunn, I must say that my review is back to 5 stars. Completing the present process according to Hoyle, will make this a solid 5 stars. I am very pleased with how my experience has been rectified. Stay tuned. Mid Dec/20 Just waiting for my new set of glasses. Dr. Hall Sr. has promised to oversee the lenses and frames, himself. He wants this process to be flawless. Now receiving them will be delayed, as it is the holiday season. This is the top notch service I remember. Stay tuned Last post Mid January All I can say is, this clinic is top notch. They go beyond the norm to make you happy. Dr. Hall Sr. Stood on his head to make sure my new glasses were 100%. He even checked my eyes, again, to make sure. He did find some early bad news. I have some fogging behind my left lense and said that if there is a history of cataracts in the close family; I should be prepared for the same. Well done. In summation- If the lenses supplier follows FYI's instructions, they are #1 in Cambridge.
I had an appointment today at 11:15 a.m. to pick up a pair of new glasses. I arrived at 11:05 and took a seat in the waiting room. I was completely ignored until 11:35 when I approached the reception desk to ask when I would be seen and was told that someone would be contacted. Ten minutes later I was called to a desk, tried on my new glasses, which were briefly tightened - this took all of 5 minutes and I left. During my wait, others in the waiting room were seen and another customer came to have glasses repaired and was immediately taken to the back desks. At no time was I approached and given a reason or apology for the delay, just left to sit there and observe staff walking around with cups of coffee, talking about a TV show they watched, etc. and actually not looking very busy. I certainly did not feel like a valued customer today.
