I was taking a stroll home on Denman today after not being able to book an appointment at Clearly on Robson and happened to find this gem! They were able to schedule me in last minute when I walked in! The optometrist is very friendly and knowledgeable as well. I learned a couple of new things about my eyes that I didn’t before. They were also really friendly and gave me a good deal on my eye exam/contact lens fitting. Really happy I found this place. A girl with broken glasses even came in (looked like it was just minor damage) and they fixed it for her for free. Please never leave Denman St! ????????????

Good Service. Quality Lenses and Stylish Frames. I had 3 pairs of vintage glass frames and brought them to Rumi to put lenses in. They also popped the lenses out of an older frame that broke (bought somewhere else), and put into a new one. It was identical shape so it worked, at no charge. Very good lenses and glass cases and felt cleaners. They pay attention to the details. Local feel. I will return and recommend.

This location is in my neighborhood and we went in many years ago, and have never been anywhere else since for our eye care and fashion needs. The owner takes his time and will explain in detail his logic and expertise which is always helpful and honest saves me time and energy consistently. Recently after routine testing of my wife's eyes, the owner and his colleague noticed something slightly concerning. They quickly applied their efforts to get further clarification for a possible medical issue regarding her eyes, much to my surprise and satisfaction. It was above and beyond what anyone could have hoped for, the owner put the extra effort in literally. I appreciated it very much. Rumi Optical has been a pleasure to shop at, get advice from and have an ongoing enjoyable discussion every time. This is a true neighbor and wonderful services provided to anyone that enters. I would highly recommend Rumi to anyone that cares about their eyes, it's very hard to get such great service anywhere like this!

Thank you for your quick rescue! My glasses broke, the arm snapped. They were 7+ years and frameless. After a day of work where I couldn't take a break, and painters tape on one side, a bandaid sticking the glasses to my head on the other, less than 20 minutes and only $30 was all that it took for the Rumi owner to repair my glasses. A deal, a relief! Thank you!

The owner seemed very well-informed and very experienced with optics, he gave us very good deal. He was very kind with a nice attitude. Didn't have the best experience here. First off the prices: I had a $200 off groupon but still even after the discount (I found out after the fact) that my glasses I purchased were much less expensive at other stores. I think someone could get one I got for a 1/3rd the price. After that , I was given two cases for my glasses, and NEITHER of them actually fit my glasses. Finally, the selection, eye-test and service were however good quality and can't fault them for that.

I was looking all over the West End of Vancouver for an anti-fog spray for my motorcycle goggles. I couldn't find anything and stopped at Rumi Optical just in case, and surprise! Mo gave me - free because I am a customer - a small bottle of Absolute, a liquid that cleans glasses and prevents the formation of fog. I rode this morning without any fog on my goggles, which is extremely important. Thank you, Mo.

Very bad .I recommend no one to deal with them I have a bad experience with them thier price really over expensive they are not straight firword in dealing after I choose my glass I found that the lence price more than the glass frame it self also I asked for a copy of my sight exam result and they told me ok you can get acopy when you pick up your glasses and then when I did so they told me you have to pay extra fees for a copy and show me the recipe that I signed said that which he didn't let me read it before sign it and said no just write your name and sign which is deceiving and I told him you don't mention that when I signed it he answered you have to read it before signed. So so bad will never ever return to this store again

I purchased a couple of groupon vouchers. They did not say in Groupon that your suppose to pay for the eye sight exam result if you want a copy. They upsold us one year supply of contacts knowing that we intend to buy it somewhere else. He said $120 for a year supply. I said we wanted colored ones and he said add $98. My partner was given a clear(uncolored) sample to test and was great. A couple of days later went to pick up the colored ones and tried, They were mucky. So gave it a couple of days getting used to still the same. She called him and explained. Said nothing back, She asked if he is not even gonna call the manufacturer at least although we know that he is suppose to offer after sales care. He said I don't know. Since she doesnt like confrontations gave another pair another try. Still same results...inspected the lenses and there are some rippling on the edges. I decide to call this time. I asked for replacement same as the sample he gave us and refund of the extra $98 we had to pay for getting colored or full return and refund. He said no. He said they do not do returns and exchanges. He argued and talked over me while I try to reason out. No point telling a person anything if his mind is set in the beginning to say no. I'm just writing Yelp, Groupon and BBB and more.

Awful customer service. Went in as my glasses arm had broken asked could he repair said they might break which I understand fully then two customers came in he basically told me to go away and was so rude and unhelpful. Appalling customer service! Avoid avoid avoid!! I was wanting my glasses temp repaired and was going to go back into the store in 2 weeks for eye exam and new glasses but I’ll take my business elsewhere and pay for a better service. The young gentlemen who greeted was very polite and knowledgeable. He helped us with introducing different styles without pressing us to make quick decisions. Once we've made a decision on the styles - the owner of the Shop stepped in recommended lenses and made some additional measurements. I called Rumi Optical first thing in the morning and I was able to schedule an eye exam for later the same afternoon which was incredibly helpful. I had broken my glasses and needed a new pair ASAP. The eye exam itself was very quick, thorough and professional - I even learned a few things about my vision that had never been mentioned to me in prior eye exams which is greatly appreciated. After the exam was over, I was shown many great options for frames and was able to try them all on without feeling rushed. (which is great because it’s hard to make a decision with so many options!) I picked up a pair of designer frames on sale that look great! Extremely happy with the friendly and professional service. I will definitely shop there again in the future.
