Doctor was good but that's the only positive thing I can say. Staff told me they'd accept my insurance for payment (checked 3 times) and when all is said and done wouldn't let me leave without paying myself. And didn't understand why this could be an issue. When trying to get a copy of my prescription so I could shop around, they couldn't find it and I had to leave and come back to get it. Same person there when I came back and again tried to tell me I couldn't get it again. Thankfully someone else was there and stepped in to get it for me. However, this person, though they could access it, didnt want to give it to me. Just kept arguing and trying to get me to buy something there. Additional charges for things other places commonly include with the rest. Will not be returning ...

When you go to an optometrist for an annual checkup, it is a pretty routine visit. But the friendly staff make it seem special. Pleasant and friendly, they answer any questions as they perform routine tests. They had some new, advanced equipment and responded easily to my questions about it. They are efficient, professional, and really go the extra mile for you. My optometrist, Dr. Loewen, was great, too, as always. I have AMD, and she keeps up on the latest research on this disease. I always learn something.

Came in November 3, 2020 to get an eye examination and new glasses and contacts. Spent $1,175.00 for glasses and exam, paid in full. Eye exam went well but they messed up the measurements on my glasses. I was told they'd beat the price on contacts for one year. After they messed up on the measurements I asked what they would do they told me $100 off contacts. After checking my notes the price I got was $170 for one year supply. New price after they messed up $270. This place is the worst place I've ever dealt with dishonest and unorganized. After not hearing from them by December 14 I called and found out today December 15 that they haven't even started making my new lenses. I canceled the order, save yourself trouble go elsewhere...

I found Albert to be excellent in fitting my glasses (not this last pair) and very personable. The Optometrist was great! She always is. However, it took forever to get my glasses, almost four months! I had the option of paying for them and then getting reimbursed by NIHB but this was the first time they pulled that on me. Every other time, It was never this long. I guess I have to blame it on Covid.

Went here with my late grandfather's glasses, wanting them to change the lenses inside to my prescription, upon picking them up I noticed they had cut the frame in multiple places, since then it has broken in another 2 places, These are not the type og glasses to require lenses, You are easily able to pop the lenses out. Very irritated and I advise to stay away unless you're buying frames from them.

Not only did they provide a quick & easy eye exam, but their selection of frames was immense and I was able to find something to suit my particular tastes. But what really made we want to write this review is that a few months later I brought in a pair of cheap-o sunglasses I had bought at a grocery store. A screw had fallen out of those sunglasses and I asked them if they had any screws that would fit. The receptionist took my glasses into the back and came out 4 minutes later with them fully repaired, no charge. Great service!

Was asked to bring health card for private pay eye exam. When I stated I did not want to bring this staff was frustrated. When I asked why this was necessary to bring when I was paying out of pocket anyway I was told I was seeing a medical doctor which justified use of my health card (and they might bill Manitoba Health). Staff did not seem to be aware of difference between MD (Opthalmology) vs Doctor of Optometry (Optometry) or the fact that Optometry is not a specialty of medicine but its own field of study (like Pharmacy, etc.). Staff did not seem knowledgeable and I would not go here for an eye exam.

awful, I had a huge infection in my eye and they said its a stye and did not give me any drops or ointments and it got bigger. then I went to another doctor he was surprised and gave me antibiotic drops and pills.

The Optometrist was very friendly and answered all my questions, very thorough with my eye exams. I have the intention to buy my prescription glasses online and needed to have my PD measured. So the Optometrist inquired with the store manager to see if they can measure my PD. After he consulted with the store manager, came back and said, "sure, no problem, but we'll be charging you $35 extra for that measurement." $35 extra for something that should be included and takes 5 seconds to do? I am taking my business somewhere else.

The Optometrists are super good at what they do and technically very sound. The customer service is very friendly and accommodating of your needs. I got a pair of progressives with anti glare option and Village optical put a rush on the pair as I was suffering from severe headaches. Ever since I have my new glasses, the headaches are gone. My eyes feel rejuvenated and I feel that I have a life. I am able to work on the computer for long hours without feeling any strain. The eye glasses fitted me well and I didn’t have to go in for any corrections at all. The staff was very helpful and helped me in addressing me needs and presenting me with great options for frames etc. Not only was the quality of the progressives great, the customer service and delivery time was exceptionally awesome. When it comes to eyes, having the right glasses is so important. This is why I am endorsing Village Opticals for the quality of their products (glasses) and also their service. They really value their customers and look after them. If you value your eyes, go to Village optical.

We have visited Village Optical for glasses for many years and have always been treated well. I liked how the COVID-19 requirements were met in an unobtrusive manner and people were consistently polite. I am disturbed to see how very quiet the business is. People came and went but there were never more than 5 people in the building ( besides staff). Dr. Van Dyjck was cheerful, polite and thorough. Great customer service. Very quick to attend to your needs. Open late one day a week and open on Saturdays. No questions asked when you come in to get adjustments or repairs on your glasses. My wife, son and I all get glasses from here. Large selection of frames. They have been particularly awesome when it came to my sons glasses. He isn't that careful with them and they fix or replace them quickly.
