We needed glasses for my son ASAP and Optical Shop of Westport had a large selection of kids frames. It was super easy (the visit took about 15 mins) and they had the glasses ready later that week. Since then, we’ve had to replace the lenses twice. Both times, it was a same-day turnaround and my son only had to go about 2 hours without his glasses. Other places I called said it would take a week.. so I am forever grateful that Optical Shop of Westport is able to handle this so quickly. Their customer service is the best I’ve seen, not just for an optical store, but for a small business in general. They seem to really care about their customers and will go above and beyond to accommodate client needs and make things as easy as possible (which is so important for a busy parent!).

I recently dropped in at the Optical Shop of Westport because one of my lenses popped out of my glasses (that I bought elsewhere). They were extremely polite, fixed my glasses quickly and actually did more than I asked. In addition, they straightened out the frame and cleaned the lenses. Excellent service!

The shop is special, and the owner is very helpful. She replaced some scratched lenses for me in favorite glassed that I did not even buy at her store and they were much better than the originals. Sadly, I lost those glasses, but found another special pair at this shop

I had the best experience getting my new glasses here! Margharet is a true expert in her field. I have a difficult time finding frames that are lightweight and comfortable on my nose while still being stylish. The selection here is amazing and there were many frames that fit my criteria!! Over this Labor Day weekend, I dropped my eyeglasses on Main Street and a cyclist ran over them. I picked up the 3 pieces and brought them to Margharet thinking I would have to reorder a new pair. I visited Optical Shop of Westport because they carry iGreen (super light glasses that have magnetic sunglass lenses). When I got to the store I noticed they have a whole collection of sports glasses and goggles. I am a cyclist and had been thinking about investing in prescription sports sunglasses but I use progressive lenses which are expensive and I don't want to replace them every two years. The shop carries several brands that have plastic lenses which easily clip into the sunglasses so you only have to replace the lenses, not the frames. Margharet helped me choose a pair of Bollé glasses that worked with my budget and I bought a pair of and brought them to Jackson Hole last week. Thank goodness because I had forgotten my ski goggles and I was surprised at how well these sunglasses worked. I had thought that because the lenses were small it would be difficult to see out of them but that was not the case at all. Plus, it was the first time I had ever used prescription glasses to ski and wow did it make a difference. I can't wait to wear these glasses when I eventually get out on my bike and on the tennis court this spring.

My mother just left this store a couple of hours ago after being Pretty Woman’ed, racist edition. She walked in to no employees and started looking around, and then the employee (or owner, who knows) came out to greet her. My mother started to explain what she was looking for and before she could even finish explaining, she was told ‘we don’t have what you’re looking for, you should go to a LensCrafters’. She tried to explain what she wanted in another way, concerned that the woman was misunderstanding what she wanted, but to no avail. Once it became clear that the employee was not interested in having my Hispanic mother spend her money at this establishment, she politely left. Don’t worry - If you’re white and don’t have an accent, I’m sure you’ll have a perfectly nice experience. That said, if you don’t want to support a bigot, you may want to spend your money elsewhere.

just bought a great pair of shooting glasses here. have been looking for a nice pair for forever; it is difficult to find a place with eyewear specific to the sport. this place has a frame for any sport as well as cute everyday ones too. will return if I need a pair of regular glasses or sunglasses.

This is the place to go for fine service. I stopped in for a small repair on my 20-year-old reading glasses. Five and minutes and several smiles later, I got them back, all better, at no charge. Highly recommended! Thank you. 2021 update: If you are looking for the finest in selection and care, the Optical Shop of Westport is Number One. I stopped in yesterday for a brief visit, requested replacement lenses for my reading glasses, and received the frame with the new lenses this morning, no more than 24 hours after I visited the shop. One more thing: Yesterday I was in Westport. Now I am in the Berkshires, about 100 miles north, and that's where the glasses with new lenses were delivered. First rate and then some!

Great inventory, esp on the sports side of the shop. Stuff I haven't seen elsewhere. Good service--the owner will even come to your home to fit/deliver glasses. If you are a dog person they have a nice dog who mingles with customers.

First time at the Optical Shop of Westport...first impression? Really beautiful, tasteful, relaxed and welcoming décor and atmosphere. I notice they have a lot of glasses for kids, in a very fun display. Also see displays for sunglasses and various goggles. Then a very nice woman came up to me to help me (never did get her name!). I needed to get my sunglasses repaired, it required just a small piece/nut to fix the hinge that broke. They were a very good, but very old pair. She was very sweet and helpful, told me to wait a bit while she looked to see if she had the necessary piece otherwise she could order it...good and positive feeling, that they were going to get fixed! Waited a short while, she brings them out and tells me she had the part and they were all fixed and tightened. "Thank you! How much do I owe you?" "Oh, no charge", she said! I will definitely come back here for all of my glasses, etc needs. So refreshing to find a place that still knows the meaning of 'customer service'! Thank you, whoever you were!

I used to dislike wearing eyeglasses because they were uncomfortable, hurt my nose and I felt they didn’t look good on me. I just had two paírs of custom made eyeglasses made by Owner Margharet and it’s been life altering! Not only does she have a stealth eye for what frames work with your face, her glasses I believe make me look better. The progressive lenses have no lines, are very light and do not make me dizzy so I can look up and down and see perfectly. She was extremely careful to make sure she filled my prescription carefully and checked with my opthalmologist to make sure I had the right prescription. The store itself is a wonderful space and they have a beautifully curated selection of gorgeous frames. If you wear glasses, go there. There is nothing better you would be doing for yourself and your face than to purchase this important accessory from this optical shop. Warby Parker and even other boutique optical shops don’t compare to this specialized experience for eyewear.
