I have been going to Optical Eyeworks for more than 10 yrs now, Ali and his team is outstanding. Their prices is unbeatable and they have new style of glasses every couple months. The staff don't make you feel pressured to buy. Very clean and positive environment. When they say pickup in 6 days it is ready in 6 days or earlier. They always give personalize service. The staff is very knowledgeable. Since i have a big family i do recommend people this store purely on the basis of their service and pricing. They have patience with kids who can't choose at once. It is so convenient that they have in house Optometrist and that makes life easy.

I have been a customer for 3 years or more and I would really say they are consistent. Customer service is amazing! Almost felt right at home. Prices are great. The owner is very accommodating. All the staff are friendly. It gets a little busy on the weekend but all worth the wait. I would give them plus 5 for ratings in regards to prices and customer service. May need to work on the waiting time (anywhere we go there is always waiting time), but again worth every single wait. Highly recommended!

I visited Optical Eyeworks recently for a long overdue eye exam. I choose this location because of the positive online review, and my experience was on par with the others here. The staff greeted me right away, and I was quickly in to see Dr. Hutchinson. He is really great - knowledgeable, friendly, just a generally good Doctor. Well, it turns out I needed glasses, I wasn't really surprised about this. The staff helped me pick out a pair, without being pushy. In fact they didn't even approach me until I started picking them up, I didn't feel any pressure. They really talked up some of their lower priced glasses, not just the designer brands. My lens weren't available so they gave me call a few days later when everything was in. This is when I met Ali - he is amazing at his job (which he has been doing for 20 years). He helped fit the glasses perfectly and took his time to ensure I was happy. He even walked me through cleaning and let me have a great case I had been eying. I've been wearing my new glasses for less then 24 hours, but there is definitely a difference. The world outside of 20 feet isn't as blurry as I thought it once was. As an aside, I went with someone else and they didn't require glasses after the exam. It was reassuring to know that they only prescribe what you really need.

I would not believe the Google ratings for this establishment. I went and purchased eyewear here based solely on the Google ratings and was NOT AT ALL IMPRESSED. The sales person was very good at helping me find the kind of frames I required BUT failed on all the eye related measurements they take with a hand-held device before ordering your glasses! As such, when my glasses finally did arrive in store, everything I tried to read in front of me was incredibly blurry. They suggested having me go home with them to see if I would "adjust" to them. Ridiculous suggestion given what I was telling them. They made 3-4 similarly POOR attempts at getting the issue solved until I finally dealt with the Optomitrist who spotted the problem almost immediately. He then had their computer do all the eye related measurements and when the glasses came back for the third or fourth time, they were correctly done. I had received NO APOLOGIES for the errors and multiple visits I had made until the Optomitrist himself apologized. He also gave me a discount in the end - however I imagine at that point you must do something for the customer in order to not come off as a completely horrible establishment. All-in-all I believe it took over 4 weeks if not more to finally get my glasses which I need for reading and distance. I believe it was back in July (2017) when I put my $200 deposit down for my glasses. I now suggest putting the bare minimum down when you order eyewear anywhere. There were other poor experiences with this store throughout the 4 weeks but they were more minor and I'm not here to write a book. I would definitely go elsewhere for your eyewear where the salespeople can competently deal with your needs from A to B and not require the Optometrist to make things right.

They are always willing to help, willing to accommodate, but most importantly they provide you the right advise. They do not try to sell you, just for the sake of selling. They always guide you in the right direction: frames that suits you, lenses that are good for your eyes, treatment that is best for you! A totally different experience than other places I have used in the past!

I went to Optical Eyeworks a couple of weeks ago to get some reading glasses. The choice of frames was excellent for such a small venue. Ali, the owner was very friendly and helpful with the printing of my insurance forms and even provided an addressed envelope! Jake, the lab technician had my glasses done in 15 minutes!! I was so impressed that I ended up purchasing a pair of reading sun glasses then a few days later, I brought my old frames in to have fitted with my new prescription. The staff is excellent and I would send all my friends there. The prices are excellent also!

Bitter and pathetic experience, won’t go there again ever! I rather pay little extra somewhere else and save my time and eyes! I had my eye test and bought glasses in mid of 2017, following was my experience. Don't think that I am that one customer who had a bitter experience with this place, I almost went on without writing a review then I saw another review below which similar experience as mine, I knew I had to share my story to show real issue with this business. I have been wearing glasses for over 25 yrs, had many exams and different styles of glasses, but I have never been in a situation like this one before. It took them 3 tries to get my glasses right! They didn’t do the eye test correctly on top of it they made it sound like it was my fault. Do your job right what you are being paid to do, I didn’t complain about any pricing, I paid in full on spot! When I went to pick up my glasses, I told them I can’t see clearly, the male Sales person can’t remember his name but there is only one apart from Ali (owner). He said it will take few hours to adjust to them. Took few days still, in fact, I start getting headaches and eye pains. When I called in they told me I might have some other issue with my eyes. I said no you performed every test you suggested including the one not so needed taking a picture of my back of my eyes. They made up excuses not apologizing for their mistake! It took a 3rd test to get it right, the optometrist did it differently and followed every step that should have been done in the first eye test. No other measurement was taken, for my glasses before/during/at any other visit. They wasted my whole month going back and forth, talking to their sales rep. who is by the way useless except for Aysha she was kind, but rest was a pathetic service especially that male sales rep. who believes he can see through my eyes. When I went to pick up my eyeglasses the last time, I saw a couple who were purchasing prescription sunglasses, and guess what woman complained about the same thing, it was blurry! Don’t tell me it will be okay in few hours when your optometrist gave me a wrong prescription twice and third time I told him to start from my old prescription and work your way from there. To the owner Ali, I have nothing to gain from wasting my time! Everyone who I know in that area or anywhere else knows about you indirectly calling me a liar. Why would I pay close to $400 for one pair of glasses and lie about not seeing clear? If I can’t see you want to be held accountable for me getting into an accident or worse? You should be ashamed of running such disgusting business ethics. If a mistake happens to take responsibility for it!

The place was great until they asked if I wanted thin lenses. I paid extra but my reading glasses have a lens that is at least 5mm thick. Not sure if they put the correct lens in there. This thickness should be for people with really bad eyesight, not just for reading.

Good selection of frames, excellent eye exam, really good pricing. They custom make sunglass clip-ons for your glasses. I had a pair of prescription eyeglasses and polarized sunglasses made and I am very happy with them. My prescription is a bit weird and I can't use stock lenses, so they had to custom make my lenses and did a great job. Highly recommended.

Speaking of they have literally the best selection and prices beat anywhere else on top of all that very fast service. The easiest review I've done in my life. I've been an Optical Eye Works customer since day 1 which was 6-odd years ago. The team led by Ali is the best in the business and they make you feel at home. The quality of the items is top notch and I've never had issues with any product I purchased. In fact, I get an adjustment (tighten the screws, cleaning, etc) every time I swing by and it's all free of charge. I've been with many insurance companies and the direct billing is always convenient. Prices are always better than what you'd expect and Ali has amazing discounts to complement his world class service. It's a true win-win. It's the easiest review and recommendation I've given anyone. Optical Eyeworks does not make you a customer - they turn you into a raving fan!

Don't go to Lenscrafters lol! You will meet one the nicest, friendliest staff you have hardly met at any retail store. The staff helped myself and my mum every step of the way, whilst making us feel at home. I know I am a picky person, but having them help me decide on a big and various selection of glasses (non brand and designer eye-wear). I didn't get to take the eye exam, but had other family members take it at a insane price from the partial exam of $35 to the full eye exam of $49. I've known Ali since 2012 and I'll probably keep going to his store for quite sometime!

I've been coming here for the past six years, primarily for eye exams as they have the lowest price around. More recently, I was here for contact lens training and to replace lenses in several of my existing frames (as we discovered that my prescription had changed.) The owner, Ali, and his staff have always been kind, accommodating and enthusiastic in pleasing their customers. I've also found Ali to be very generous in his services and prices while he and the staff have helped me many times with eyeglass adjustments and as I've shopped for new lenses and frames. It is rare to receive this level of service anywhere and the staff are always so welcoming and friendly, even my cats enjoy visiting the store for some attention!

Optical Eyeworks is the best. I live near Yonge and Finch and have been driving up to Richmond Hill to get my glasses here, it's worth the drive. I have tried Nikon and Essilor brand lenses in the past, this time I decided to try their house brand Max Vision lenses. They are excellent quality with all of the clarity, anti-glare and UV coatings but only 1/3 of the price vs everywhere else. Ali the optician is extremely knowledgeable and presents all options with very affordable fair pricing. They present all of the lens brand options and don't try to up sell you on things you don't need. Even if you have found your own frames, I would bring your frames here to get lenses, best priced lenses in the GTA. I'll be going back for another pair soon.

Unlike the typical franchised optical stores often found in shopping malls, where my experience often resembles that of a fast-food joint, I think Optical Eyeworks is really one of a kind (at least in Richmond Hill). One word: *personal*. This is one of the few places where painstaking attention is given to both their clients and eye care products. I have visited the store a few times to have an eye exam and to get prescription lenses for my sunglasses. Ali (the store owner)’s knowledge and expertise in selecting the most suitable lens is unparalleled. In spite of the fact that I purchased the sunglasses elsewhere and only got the prescription lenses from Optical Eyeworks, Ali has been very patient and willing to cater to my numerous adjustment requests during my follow-up visits. On top of that, Ali also helped me ordered trials of contact lenses free of charge. Dr. Chan is high recommended, being passionate about this job and very approachable. He performed a thorough (approx. 1 hr) exam of my eyes, checked for signs of possible eye diseases, and made personalized recommendation regarding LASIK vs. PRK operations. At $49 (promotion), the eye exam was worth every buck. Overall, Optical Eyeworks provides professional service in a friendly environment. It is definitely worth visiting if you are located nearby.

Its not often you give someone five stars when they make a mistake with your order. But that is what I am giving these guys for the following reasons. 1. Their prices are reasonable - not cheap, but reasonable, given the choice of frames and the quality of service provided. 2. The owner, Mr. Ali, is helpful and professional and clearly not out to sell you the most expensive pair of glasses. 3. They stand by their product. My bifocals with anti scratch coating got scratched within 2 weeks. I have no idea how this happened, and the fault could well have been mine. But Mr. Ali replaced the glasses for me, free of charge, even though he would have to spend personally for the replacement lenses. 4. They are perfectionists. As part of my deal, they converted my old frames into sunglasses. Mr. Ali was not satisfied with the tinting as one side was marginally lighter than the other - I could barely notice the difference, but he was apologetic about the delay and made me wait for the correctly tinted lenses. 4. They fix mistakes. The sunglasses were filled by mistake with my reading prescription (i.e. at a lower power) - when I mentioned this after I realized this, they were incredibly apologetic and fixed the problem promptly. 5. They have a very good optometrist on premises and their eye exams are very reasonably priced ($50). Bottomline - everyone makes mistakes. A good business is one that makes good, for the sake of customer satisfaction. I like Mr. Ali and I will reward him with repeat business as he has truly earned my trust.

I used to go to the large chain stores (LC, PV, HO - i'll let you figure those out) and would always have to pay over my allowable amount. Usually for 1 pair, standard lenses. Here, i walked out with 2 pairs and anti-glare (they call it Crizal) for my night-time driving and computer work. I got an Armani and Hugo Boss with spring/double-hinged arm frames. Such an amazing experience here, I had an eye exam with Dr. Syed Moosavi, who was very nice and knowledgeable. The exam was thorough and the price is unbeatable for the service! This was my first time here and I would recommend it to anyone, even more than the optometrist that I have been going to for over 10 years! Also when buying glasses, Miriam was extremely helpful, as well as other members of the team. I didn't feel any pressure to purchase glasses, they seemed like they just wanted to find the perfect frame for me, and gave me solid advice. 12/18/20: Had a full examination with the add on for low price. Optometrist was friendly, thorough and helpful. Ended up purchases new lenses from here that was cost efficient as well. 12/2/21: Glasses with new lenses were ready for pick up. Customer service this time by an Asian lady was not friendly. I told her the lenses felt weird, she had advised me to wear it for a couple of days. She then sent me on my way with no bag, glasses cleaner, cloth or even a case. I just held my old lenses and my glasses and left. I wore my glasses for a week, but my eyes weren’t adjusting. I felt as though I was looking into a fish aquarium all the time. Spoke to Ali, he explained that because of the condition of my eyes, I may need a reduced prescription. He was very friendly and very professional. He ordered me new lenses. 1/23/21: The young lady with tied brown hair and blue eyes was very friendly and super helpful. She made sure everything was perfect and felt comfortable. While giving me back my glasses after putting the new ones in, she gave me a case, cleaner and cloth all in a bag. I unfortunately didn’t catch her name, but because of her, Ali and the optometrist who served me, I will definitely be back and recommending them. Thank you for your help!

Don't go to Optical Eyeworks for your eye exam. The attractive pricing is a way to get you in the door to purchase glasses. I had my doubts when the "doctor" dilated my eyes and mentioned that I should go buy my glasses while I wait for the next exam. I recently broke my glasses a few hours prior to heading out on vacation and in a panic I went into the shop to try and get them fixed, however they were not fixable. Warming and Welcoming atmosphere. My last visit at Optical Eyeworks was in December 2017. I had to bring my children for an eye-exam and I also decided to look for new frames for myself. The Doctor was amazing with my 2-year-old….he made the eye visit fun and interactive. Also, the staff were smiling and helpful with my children when I was looking for my frames. They even had toys, colouring books, games, for kids to keep them entertained. My child kept moving around the store, but the staff were understanding, and I felt very welcomed. I highly recommend this place. Optical Eyeworks has a variety of frames – name brands, different and unique frames, and the prices are very good. The staff are able to understand my needs and help me find the best frame for my face. I feel more then just another customer, I feel special and I am always happy when I leave.

The most important part is whenever I have lens made from them, it's always accurate and my eyes never get uncomfortable.
