This has become my go-to for eyewear! Love the fact that they have some really great trendy options that you normally don't find in basic eyewear stores like Loblows/Hakim etc. And the prices are pretty reasonable too if you compare from others. You will definitely be able to find a good affordable trendy style in a reasonable budget!

These guys were super helpful on my first ever visit (have only needed to go there once, that is). Searching for new specs on ODSP (Ontario Disability Support Program) is a bit embarrassing enough without this location's next door neighbor Hakim Optical pulling out a dusty cardboard box and telling me to chose from a loose pile of plastic-wraped, plastic frames that wouldn't be considered stylish by an 80 year old in the 70's. Completely humiliating. KIM'S OPTICAL however? Extremely friendly, and pretty much offered me anything in the store. Durable metal frames, modern desirable styles... I'm never going to any other store for glasses again.

Just a FIRST CLASS experience with Kim's Optical from start to finish. Textbook Covid procedures in place, friendly, professional and knowledgeable staff, and a great selection of frames. Howard walked me through every aspect of custom crafting my eyewear incorporating my life needs to make the best choices. Glasses and contacts were crafted perfectly and ready for pick up on time - fitting took no time at all. 5 free days worth of disposable lenses were included so that if the ones I ordered didn't fit right, I could return the purchased supply and have them replaced for free. This is the way EVERY business should operate. Thanks guys, I will be back!!

I purchased a frame from Kim’s optical back in August. After going back and forth on the price, I was able to get a better price from Hakim Optical on the lenses but since Kim’s frame that I chose , was wide and looked nicer, I decided to get my frame only. After less than 5 Months , my frame was unsoldered from both sides and It kept falling off. I went back to Kim’s and asked then to either fix it or replace it since it was only a few months, I knew I was talking to Mr. Kim ( The Owner ) but he said he was only a part time employee and I had to talk to the girl that I dealt with in the begining. They had the exact same frame in stock but he insisted that the size was different which I’m sure it was exactly the same size. I just didn’t like their attitude and the way they treated me over a simple issue .on that day, Mr. Kim lied to me twice ( one for his title and one for the frame size ) and I just decided to leave and make sure everyone knows how bad Kim’s Optical can be when it comes to dealing with simple product issue. If it’s an easy fix or even an on the spot replacement of the frame, they can simply offer a soloution on the spot, instead of lying to their customer or making them come back to deal with someone who has much less athority than the owner himself.

Staff is friendly and helpful, they have a great selection of frames, HOWEVER! I've had my glasses for a year now and the coating is all scratched and is coming off. My other glasses never had this problem even after 6 years. I showed them and they blamed it on me...

Very poor experienced employees. I asked them to just make my glasses tight few days ago and now it has broken into two pieces from the middle bridge. I know they fixed it with my own responsibility but I just asked them to fix the screws and the handles but seems they also put heat on the bridge as well. I wished I had read the reviews and not wasting my glasses for just screw fixing. Others have mentioned similar issues with this guy

I went here 7 years ago to get some lens on a frame for glasses I had. These guys did it in 15 minutes, which is the fastest I've ever heard of- and this is important to me. 7 years later (now) I came into the store again with the same request, and it was processed in the same amount of time. No problems with the service, but I'm not knowledgeable enough to know if the prices are competitive.. all I can say is that it's about 2x cheaper than downtown... I'm giving 4 stars for prompt service, and doing what was expected.

Girlfriend and I went to shop for a pair of glasses. an old Chinese man who seemed to be the shop owner did not really know how to help his customers. he could not show us what we were looking for based on our needs and preferences. After showing some frames and his useless effort, he stood behind us like a police officer as if I was stealing frames. after a while, he said we were taking too long repetitively and he wants to go home during business ours while no one approached from behind to help us. I jokingly said " seems like u wanna kick us out" and he jokingly said back that "I want to kick u out" twice. after his frustration we finally sped up and picked up a frame. while my girlfriend paying him for her glasses, i was walking around the store and he kept looking at me as if i was stealing a frame again. also to mention that, at first behind the counter while he was showing us frames, he seemed practicing his golf with his hands swinging them. I would also say his rude, strange, and discriminatory behaviors were due to our race. He probably is not comfortable with some race.

This is one of the best professional place, specially in this unprecedented time of covid. They have all the protocols for covid-19 measures. Very clean and most important lot of variety of frames. The people are very nice and friendly here, customer service is excellent. Price, I would say is reasonable. Their service is quick, if they have the glasses for prescription they will give the glasses in just 20 min. I have never seen this kind of service before. Surely would recommend this store! Good job Kim opticals. I am glad I found this store!

I needed 1-day contact lenses for my wedding the next day. He figured out my prescription from my eyeglasses and gave me three pairs of 1-day lenses as close as possible to my prescription for free! He then congratulated me on the wedding. Great service and nice people!

Terrible experience, and I can tell that it's a pretty regular occurrence. If you want to avoid hassles and poor service due to a greedy shop owner, then do not bring your business here. You may get a cheaper price than Hakim or another big name, but it's easy to find a reasonably priced pair of glasses elsewhere. If all goes smoothly in your first transaction then this place is OK, but if you need them to fix something reasonable then get ready to go to war... But don't take my word for it. Search this place online and see the ratio of positive to negative comments. It's not worth the risk!

Impressive, the gentleman helped me to repair my glasses which is too loose without charging!! And I asked a downtown store where they are charging me for $20 without even asking me about the damage!!! Thank you Kim’s Optical, even though it is a very minor fix, I am still very thankful!!

My first pair of glasses were from other places where my mom and I got the eye exam done at different places. It was Dr.Changi Min the optometrist and they sold eyeglasses so my mom and I purchased the eyeglasses at where I got my first eye exam done!!! But my second and third pair of glasses are from this optical store and all of staff members are so kind and tries to fulfill the recommendation of styles of frames that each customer wants!!! I got the similar types of frames that I asked but I had go to shop for frames and pick it up on different date because lenses need to be ordered!!! But when I have other bags in my hand because I shopped at other stores all of staff members give help to carry those bags to the finch subway station/bus station!!! And I order my contact lenses here as well!!! Contacts lenses can be ordered via phone or mail and it can ordered right on the spot and pick it up when you visit the optical store!!! They carry circle lenses as well which is from acuvue brand and it is called "Acuvue define" - they have natural shine and vivid colour in handy at the store!!! Since the eyeglasses prescription expires every year so my current eye exam was done at this place with the optometrist that are located 2nd floor of the this optical store with Dr. Marian Kim!!!! - She was super nice as the staff members who works at the optical store!!! Plus they sell solutions as well but if you buy with the contact lenses, they charge no taxes for solution but if you buy only solution they will charge with taxes!! But some of them might only need solution so there is benefit if you buy together!!!! Plus, I got a small present when I visited the store right after holidays during business hours and one of staff member said " Thanks for being local customer!!!" I said "thank you the present looks so nice!!!" and Also, the coloured contacts that I have picked it up today - I cannot wait until trying them!!! (Plus I got some sample solutions)!!! Which are super good since I do have few pairs of biweekly contact lenses left!!!

If I could have rated zero I definitely would have. If you never run into a problem..Michelle is Awsome.. very willing to overcharge with a smile..if an issue comes up, you will see her true side. Keep in mind she is not as qualified as she let's on. Do not allow her to " tweak " your prescription, or play with your sight ( try these contact's and wait and see or not..) After a month of 5! yes 5 different lenses they handed over because someone forgott to order mine then let's try this..the headaches were brutal..treated worse each time I went back. All this time Michelle was well aware I was without glasses as the pair she sold me were late and wrong so again another week ..no glasses. All the while being led to believe there was nothing I could do with my broken glasses while I wait for new ones..Second pair horrible..one bifocal a millimeter and a half higher than the other..scratched ..Michelle marked where the bifocals go..she was horrible to me. Off to Wall Mart I go to speak with an Optition who immediately saw the problem and called Michelle to explain and give credit to what i was saying/ seeing..Michelle hung up on her!!! ... And Wonderful person at Wallmaet put my old lenses cut down into a small pair of kids frames to give my swollen sore eyes a break from contacts while my new glasses were being made for 20$..took about 30 min. Oviously Michelle was thinking about selling me new not helping me see. A month of horrible headaches, treated terribly after 10 years!! Glasses to get by with same day..new glasses..under a week and better lenses for 1/3 less and savings on every box of contacts ! A month of hell, tks Michelle .???? . .

6/1/17 - I visited Kim's Optical again and was trying to add a another review, buts since it's my first I have no idea how to work this....lol In any event once again Kim's sets the bar extremely high with impeccable customer service. I purchased two pairs of sun glasses and i couldn't believe the price. This place (In my opinion) definitely deserves the best business award!!!!! I walked over to Kim's and not only we're they at significantly better price point, the customer service was paramount. I would recommend anyone looking for glasses/contacts to visit Kim's Optical.......They have a customer for life!!!!!! Thank you. 8/25/17.......Once AGAIN........Without fail KIM's Optical provides impecable customer servie over and abovie its local competition. Not only is the service and noteably faster, Michelle ( I believe the Manager) always attends to my needs immediatley and its not as if im one of their biggest customers, who spends a ton $$$$. I've said it before they set the bar very high and should be the benchmark as to what businesses should adhere to when providing TQS (TOTAL QUALITY SERVICE) . P.S... In case you are wondering they are not paying to write this, LOL.....THEY ARE REALLY THAT GOOD!!!!!!!
