Friendly staff, great service. Eye appointment was great, glasses selection is great, and they help you understand the needs you have for a frame based on your prescription. Will be going back again. Recommend 10/10

worst bunch I have ever dealt with. they gave me the wrong lens ( not the ones I asked for ) and would not fix them unless I paid them $349.00 for another set of lens when they gave me the wrong ones in the first place. so basically my glasses are no use to me ( blurry and gives me headaches ) word of advice , go to vogue

Just came from Cowan’s Optical and wanted to share my experience. The staff was second to none !! Excellent service Very professional I had the pleasure of being served by the young lady Cathy who greeted me with a smile . It did not take long for me to know she enjoyed her job . Rare now a days . Even the owner Mr Blaine Cowan who happen to pass by us took the time to ask how my day was ! High praise to Cowan’s Optical and all of there staff !

I am a long time customer and loyal because in the past I received great service. I cannot say a bad thing about Dale - he has always been wonderful. Kathy however is another story. The way she spoke to a younger male co-worker was beyond ridiculous and in turn she reciprocated this behaviour towards me. This location will continue to lose valuable customers unless staff that need it (especially Kathy) receive customer service and respectful communication training. They are lucky to have great Dr.'s as it entices people to stay and fill prescriptions but in a smaller city news travels fast.

Just got back from my eye exam. Have to say the staff were great...very friendly and helpful. Great selection. Tracy was amazing...so helpful in picking out the frames I wanted. Very knowledgeable and friendly.

Only positive thing I can say about them is they have a good selection of designer glasses. Staff is unfriendly & seems irritated with their customers when it's busy. Bad customer service in general.

Had a wonderful visit with Dr. Trudy Metcalfe. She is a lovely doctor and very personable. The staff outside, on the other hand, if you want to try to get your glasses there, is horrible. This is the second time over the past years that I left Cowan's and went elsewhere for my frames. However, this morning, I thought I would try again and give them a second chance. It was so much trouble for any one of the 4 ladies that were sat behind the counter chit-chatting for either of them to give me the time of day. If Covid guidelines are the reason for their absolute disregard or avoidance of a customer, then they should be closed to the public. After standing in front of the service counter, they told me 'designer' frames were here and 'non-designer' frames were in the back. That was it! So I struggled looking at frames for about 45 minutes while I listened to their social lives, new puppies, all while ignoring me. No problem. So I finally decided on a pair of frames and when I went to the counter again, the girl said, "Do you want one or two?" I asked her what she meant and she looked at me blankly. How was I to know you could almost get two pairs for an extra $60 odd. So I decided on 2 pairs and then had to go back and re-look again for another suitable frame. The girl reluctantly helped me and when I decided on a second frame, I went up to the counter again and she told me the frames I picked would need some kind of special lens, costing an additional $150 odd on top of the $630 already quickly quoted. After an hour of this absolute nonsense and the girl's horrible attitude, I just couldn't take it anymore and I told her to forget it as I didn't like her attitude and would go elsewhere, somewhere where they probably appreciated the business. The whole staff there just gave off a really bad vibe. I took my prescription and headed out. I will never go back there again for frames. Anyone who needs frames and new glasses, I would recommend going to another Optical store and NOT COWANS OPTICAL ON TOPSAIL ROAD, MOUNT PEARL.
