He does know what hes doing
Over priced, lack of customer service and not knowledgeable about products and software
Great Service, Willing to make a trip out to Home Computer soon for me or my friends and family looking to make a new Linux system purchase.
Very knowledgable and friendly professional service, highly recommend Charles and his team. Best prices anywhere!
A high tech paradise!
Great selection
I never bought a computer from this place. I have been to his home business and he is a scammer. I asked him why all his computers do not have Windows on them. He points to a letter from " Microsoft" stating he is not allowed to sell any product with Windows on it. Before you think this is true, I ask you first look at any and all used computer stores. They all have Windows on them. The owner simply hijacks the Bios so you can't put Wondows with deleting the hard drive. I am a service provider and know how to service them. I would steer anyone from buying a computer from this scammer.
This guy completely screwed me over, told me he would fix my laptops wifi connection problem, comes back ten minutes later and he had completely wiped my hard drive. Two years worth of music id composed myself as well as the last three smart phones worth of photos. Absolutely terrible service, no warning or explanation, all of the sudden all of my stuff is just gone and there's no way to get it back. Also, he sold my mother (who knows nothing about computers) a macbook that was almost ten years old for $400, which he currently has for $200, then 4-5 months later the hard drive died. He then offered to either buy it for $20 or fix the other laptop i brought which i mentioned above. Thanks for nothing, dick.
FAST, FRIENDLY & COMPETITIVELY PRICED SERVICE! When our 2 year laptop broke, I called around to check out prices & service times. Most places were quoting $175 - $250 with wait times varying from 1 week to 6 weeks; there were a couple places that told me they would have to ship it directly to the manufacturer - they didn't do repairs on site (which is crazy to me, why would I pay you to be a middle man when I could ship it myself to the manufacturer). When I spoke to Charles at home computers, he was friendly, helpful & well priced ($100 quoted). I was a bit sceptical, you never know what you're going to pull up to with a home business... I was impressed. A well maintained beautiful home with the business downstairs that carries almost anything electronic. We dropped off our laptop - it was apparent that the business is busy - so I was surprised when (as we were told) 2 weeks later it was ready. I now have a fully functioning laptop for a fraction of the cost that other places were going to charge me. I will most definitely be returning to Home Computers for future purchases & repairs. I highly recommend!
I like this guy!
I took my PC to Mr. P. at homecomputer and he changed the system from Windows 10 to UBUNTU. I am so very disappointing. after paying a good amount of dollars. We visited a second time, and a third time, he didn't show no interest to explain the change. He changed the comp. batteries and now I cant reach my internet at home, he sell me a long cheap cable to connect to my internet box. What a mess. His work stopped me from communicating with my 11 grandchildren in this time of separation. DONT BRING YOUR COMPUTER TO HIM. BAD IDEA.
Great service and a great product. Ubuntu is an amazing free computer program that offers more than Windows or PC for free.
I enjoy the service here. Charles is very knowledgeable and his prices are great! He will notify me if there is a deal on anything related to my Mac
Great prices, friendly, lots of options to choose from.
Charles is a friendly and reliable local business owner. Great customer service and expert knowledge on computers. He really knows his stuff. Would recommend to anyone who needs a new computer or needs any tech assistance.
Previous computers purchased have been okay but recently purchased Chinese knock-off macbook charger and within a month the wire split causing electric shock and shutting down my computer. Owner was hesitant to provide any refund or warranty, insisting these are the same quality as a genuine APPLE. I took the adapter apart and compared it with my APPLE charger and there is no comparison - shoddy soldering, wires are poor quality inside and a very different and poor design and construction. Pretty disappointed with the response received for this, and will take my money elsewhere as a result
Reasonable prices great service and very fast and friendly
Purchased an HP Chromebook in March for my son to do the online learning - called in the morning - had the chromebook that afternoon - thank u!
Great prices, wide range of computers and tablets on hand. Owner is helpful and honest.
Great service, very happy
Charles, the owner of Home Computer, is honest and generous. I travelled twice to his shop on the same day for problems with monitor, and when he could not find any problems with monitor or cords he told me to bring in main computer. I did and It worked fine after he did a good cleaning, after which he never charged me for both visits. Thanks Charles
The guy who posted above is works at Geeks Galore Computer Center and is therefore a competitor of Home Computer. His review *might* be biased!! The man who runs (Home Computer) is the owner/proprietor of the store, which sells computers, laptops, cel phones, printers, and hardware. What this means is that he has to try to know EVERYTHING about all brands and makes of the products he sells, and he also has to run the store while servicing computers too! He is trying to run a locally owned home business. Obviously this means there are going to be times when the store is busy, but that doesn't mean he doesn't offer good service! I bought a laptop here for a really great price, and Charles was really honest with me about whether or not it was used (and how). He offers a warranty on everything he sells. I did have to wait a while for him to finish talking to another customer, but I didn't mind because I got a really good deal and I supported a local business.
Excellent service reasonable prices . Bought a lap top there years ago need to be upgraded and a new printer installed . Done not overly expensive and done while my wife and I waited . Tells you the cost up front no surprises. When I need another lap top I know where to go .
Nice guy running this place who isn't out to gouge you
You literally scammed me, you took my 64gb iPhone 4s when I needed it repaired, and you then gave me a brand new 16gb iPhone 4. You stole my phone.
I got a great deal on a newer model computer. Saved $300!
Helpful
Fantastic prices and knowledgeable owner. Shame about the fake reviews but it comes with the territory when you deal with generational welfare trash that's wants everything for free and so called "competitors" that are in the business to screw people. Keep doing what you're doing, you have my business.
For starters the place is a mess, and the owners attitude is no better. I brought my phone here for a diagnosis because the phone wouldn't turn on. The next day the owner calls me and says he fixed the phone by putting a new screen on and the bill will be 120$. I was blown away and asked why he had fixed the phone without permission. He told me that I had asked him to fix it when I know I only asked for a diagnosis. I asked him to reduce the price as this was not what I had asked of him and he retorted saying he would rather put on the old screen for me so I can go somewhere else. Whatever I decided I didn't want to deal with him anymore and paid the bill and left. Later that night the home button didn't work so I called and asked why it wasn't operating when it did when I dropped the phone off. He told me that it wasn't working when he received the phone, and would rather put the old screen back on the phone than be helpful. Anyway I go back the next day for a diagnosis of this situation and stay to watch. His assistant handles the problem this time, but as his assistant sits down to take a look the owner tells his assistant to take his time before storming out. Poor quality service and they have lost a customer.
Very unhappy with the service. Very poor service and not recommended. Purchased a MacBook and traded in my old MacBook. When I purchased it he failed to inform me that both USB adapters on the Mac didn't work and the computers wifi only worked in certain locations. When I confronted him about it, he made it seem like the issues I was having were untrue and "shouldn't be happening". Instead of helping me resolve it he tried to sell me a more expensive computer (despite me telling him I don't have the extra money). When I finally decided I wanted a refund of both the money I paid and the old MacBook I traded, he proceeded to tell me that I was ripping him off. I had to threaten to call the cops, and finally got my money back and left.
Owner is well intended, nice guy attitude. If you're looking for standard or base line equipment and have mininal or standard requirements, not a bad place to shop at, as long as you also shop at other places to compare. If you're looking for higher technical expertise, or if you have higher than average computer skills and requirements, avoid this place. You will only get frustrated. The store is an absolute mess, the owner has no idea what he has on-hand or not. If you call ahead, and he says he's got what you need in stock, be aware that you might be wasting your time, as he might actually not have it, but thought he did. He may also change his mind on the spot, and decide he wants to keep a certain that you are interested, simply because he wants to use it. Even though he said on the phone he would sell it to you. Not a bad guy, but he won't see me again.
Called Charles Pattison to ask if he had a battery for my cell phone he said to call back Wednesday.. I called Thursday and then messaged Charles he msg me back and stated $20 for the battery and free install. I went to his home business he gave my phone to his worker to put the battery in my phone and then stated he was also charging me $20 to install plus tax. I told him I have a band card and Charles said he doesn't take them. So that was another $5.20. So in total I was charged $45.20 for a battery. I told Charles had I known how he operated I would have went elseware and the phone is my lifeline as I'm a widow. I live in the country and have breathing problems. Charles is not a man Of his word.. Also not a very polite human being..
He is fair and knowledgeable
Check it out ppl
If you are looking to purchase a computer I would highly recommend Home Computer. If you are stuck on Microsoft, then go elsewhere. Charles is the owner of Home Computer and he deals primarily with Linux operating systems with a Ubuntu GUI. I have been dealing with him for nearly 10 years. His service is excellent! I was like the rest of the world; I only used Microsoft. I do not consider myself a computer guru by any stretch of the imagination, yet transitioning from Windows to Linux was effortless. Prices are extremely competitive and he has always stood behind his products and his service.
