Saturday evening 4:40pm we are getting ready to jump on the highway for a trip to the city to attend a play (show time 7:30). Sam gets in the back seat and goes to clean his glasses when the frame breaks clear in half. What to do, he won’t be able to see the stage without them. Danielle grabs some tape and is about to tape them together. No, no let’s see what time IRIS closes tonight. What luck they are open for 20 more minutes. We walk in the door, explain our situation and one person goes to see if we have a replacement frame. Yes we do, so while he is figuring out if there is any sort of deal another takes the frame and lenses to set up them up. The first gentleman gets us an incredible 50% off and we are off on our adventure in less than 15 minutes. I would recommend IRIS to anyone for sure.

I was looking for a specific frame and I had called ALL the optometry stores in Chilliwack and Abbotsford, Iris Chilliwack was the only store who would order the glasses for me, with a no obligation to buy if I didn't like the way they fit. Rebecca was the one who helped me, amazing customer service. I can't stress enough about this place as I called over 20 stores and Iris was the only one who would order them inform me, let alone not follow through with the sale if I didn't like it. Donna just took my ten year old Serengeti glasses (my favourite ever) and fixed them while I waited. I asked for the one of the lenses to be replaced as it had fallen out and I didn’t even notice I had no nose pieces. She replaced those as well all for nothing and in about ten minutes. Very friendly and helpful. I recommend supporting this local business. Ask for Donna and tell her Duane from Vancouver Island sent you.

A few months ago, having finally returned from Ecuador with it being an extensive 5 months past the departure date, I was in dire need of replacing my prescription lenses. Once having served the 2 week quarantine, I went in for an appointment and was serviced by a fine young lady Candice. She listened to my issue and concerns with my vision and lenses. My job involves day or night driving and the issues with my vision needed resolving. She went the extra mile , so to say, in customer service to help out my needs. Seeing as I was not able to return to Canada in my warranty period she was able to maintain it due to my lockdown and inability to get services to my lenses. I am a very happy customer because of her service to me and the investment for healthy vision. The entire staff is friendly and prior to this past visit, I have always had great service. Candice tho, she really made me smile with her bright personality. Iris is fortunate to have her amongst the team!

The people here are great and the shop stands by their products. I’ve had to have a lens remade because it wasn’t quite right, and they were eager to make it right. Also they’ve helped me with warranty claims on sports glasses that were damaged and the process was 100% smooth. The prices are likely a bit higher than some other options, but I feel like my vision is taken care of very well.

My husband has been going to Iris's chain for nearly 20 years. He did try a few cheaper options over the years when money was tight but we always ended up back at Iris. When our kids where born we naturally took them to Iris and have been going to the Chilliwack location for 10 years. They have gone above and beyond for my kids and husband. Even when there have been issues, usually not their fault, they have taken exceptional care of us. Iris is a little pricier than the competition but the quality of frames, warranty and service is well worth it.

I’m very happy to have found this Iris location so near my home. I found the level of service proved by both KC, the optician and Dr. Lam, the Optometrist, to be exceptional. Both very clearly explained each detail of the procedure to me prior to initiating any test as well as clearly addressed my questions. Covid-19 protocols were in place and I felt safe during my time at the store. Everything was wiped down promptly and customers were well spaced apart. Nice people. Slowest service ever. Arrive at 10:20 for a 10:30 appointment...an hour later, we get in. Not to mention the most awkward store setup. No thought towards customer privacy or comfort. Chipped furniture, dirty floors....ugh. For what they charge, I would expect better. Glad I dont have any eye problems, BUT, if I did...I would go elsewhere.

On June 2nd 2021 I had an appointment for a complete eye check up. When the apt was booked, with the new receptionist I was NOT told of the price increase, even though when I spoke with Denise later on the phone she said they always advise. I am a senior, and the price within a year has gone from 70.00 for a complete to 105.00,this is a 50% increase, probably due to the fact that this Dr. has now joined with IRIS company.This is just a rip-off and I shall be looking for a new Dr. Unfortunate as this Dr. we both thought was very good. Highly incompetent, avoid at all cost. I paid for a contact fitting and they gave me opposite power for each eye. They postponed my visit by a week to get the right contacts in and they didn't even have my correct power. I can not recommend this location. They have refused to refund me for this botched visit.

My Silhouette frames needed repair urgently on Monday - I dropped it off and was told to collect on Tuesday afternoon due to being short staffed it had not been done - Brian the manager over heard the conversation and stepped right up to the plate immediately and did the repair himself and I collected them 45 min later this is not the first time he has helped me as he has come in early before the store opened - as I am a severe asthmatic and cannot wear a mask for any length of time - to enable the fitting of my new glasses. It's not often you receive exemplary service and I wanted to share my experience at Iris Burnaby. This being the first time I've needed to attend to my eyes.... I was given a detailed and thorough exam by Optician Yukiko Lavalle and Dr Leonard Lam. Dr Lam ensured to explain everything in both scientific and layman's terms so I could understand and without feeling rushed so I could ask questions. Recommendations were made of a lens choice that would suit my eye needs. When it came time to pick out my first frames (which can be daunting) Yukiko was beyond patient and wanted to make sure I was making a choice inclusive of function, comfort and style. Give Iris Market Crossing a call... you will not be disappointed!!! ????

My glasses was broken a few weeks ago, and I need to get a pair of new one. There is a bit of a wait, they are busy all the time, maybe because of their great services :). I am a picky person, they take the time to understand my style and needs and helped my choose the right pair of glasses; I spent over an hour and tried on like 50 difference pairs. I have an issue with my eyes and was recommended to get a contact for my lt eye. I went to see if I could taught how to insert it. Found out it had to be ordered in and noone was available to teach me therr would be someone in the next week. I got a phone call that the lens was in and I was able to come in till the following week and they reassured me there would be someone there. Well I went in today and guess what no teacher and didn't know when there would be. Why not tell me that when they called? I'm going elsewhere.

Unbelievable service! They helped me fix my glasses which weren't even purchased from them and didn't charge me a dime. It took the lady about 30mins ( it was a difficult fix) and she just kept on trying until they were as good as new. She even tightened the ear peices so they wont keep falling off during yoga anymore. I know where I will be going for my next pair of contacts or glasses!!

I had the best service possible at Iris in Chilliwack! All the staff were so sweet and helpful. I had my ten month old with me who was very fussy and tired. One of the staff members held him while I was looking at glasses and put him to sleep!! Aswell as the team member Candice who helped me choose BOTH pairs of my glasses. Candice had gone out of her way to find the polarized sunglasses colour that I was looking for and to have them put onto the frames I wanted. She was AMAZING! I will forever continue to go to Iris for all my family needs Thanks again everyone

Iris Burnaby is an excellent place to check the health of your eyes and vision. I like the relaxed atmosphere and the friendliness of the personnel. This store is welcoming and customer oriented and it has a good variety of high quality lenses and frames. I wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Leonard Lam - the optometrist - and especially KC Chao - the optician - for their professional attitude and excellent service.

My family and I, are (were) regular Patients/customers of IRIS. The office as well Dr.Laudadio know that we spare no expense when it comes to our eyes. They very well know what I mean by that… I do not usually post comments on the web but this morning’s “treatment” received by the IRIS office here in Chilliwack is worth posting and here is why. I had previously (9 days ago) scheduled a 9:15 AM appointment to see Dr. Jonathan Laudadio. My 9:15 AM appointment arrived alone with a heavy snow fall but I was able to keep my appointment, arriving at 9:00 AM. Upon my arrival was informed that due to the weather Dr. Laudadio would be late. I express my sympathy and understanding for their business interruption and was willing to wait since the Dr. was late, but on his way. For me was important to be first in line to see the Dr. since I had to go to work after that. Followed my morning scheduled appointment, a family of 5 also had a scheduled appointment to see him after me, but the staff wanted to change mine so the group of 5 and others in line would not have been inconvenienced by rescheduling them. I guess changing my appointment was much easier for them than phoning and informing everybody else for the delay. Too much work since their day was full. I found this totally unprofessional, unacceptable considering I had to go to work after the visit. Also I found it discriminatory. I cancelled my appointment and left their office upset. The greed of them losing business by changing the others appointments and the way I was treated make me and my family of three (NOT FIVE) look elsewhere for another Doctor. Sorry Dr. Laudadio. I have been buying glasses at Iris for many years. The entire team at the Iris at Market Crossing is phenomenal - they are kind, helpful and will go above and beyond to assist their clients. I always feel that they have my best interests at heart. The eyewear selection is excellent but the service is exemplary. I have had great service from Joseph, KC, Evelyn and Stephanie - special shout out to KC who picked out my newest pair of glasses (and they're fabulous!) and Evelyn, whose enthusiasm will always make you feel happier about life. Iris has amazing customer service. We always enjoy our visits with Dr Beverley as they she makes everyone feel comfortable and at home. The opticians and administrative staff are friendly and helpful. They always keep wait times to a minimum, provide great options for their customers, and show that they really care about each individual. Definitely recommend!

Kary took the time to sit with her and explain the process and even took cool pictures of her eyeballs while we waited for the doctor to call her in. The staff was friendly overall. I went in for an eye exam. The optician who did the preliminary checks was very professional. Then Dr. Lam, the optometrist, examined my eyes thoroughly. He was careful, meticulous and patient, not condenscending like some doctors can be. I highly recommend this store and Dr. Lam.

Fabulous visit today to see Dr B at Iris. Brought my two and half year old for his first visit to the eye doctor and he was smiling the whole time. The entire staff were incredible with him and he couldn’t stop talking about being a pirate and learning how to clean his sunglasses all the way home. The glow in the dark stickers were the icing on the cake for him...for his Mum it was the seamless, fun, and easy experience that made it worthwhile. The team here has a talent with looking after the little ones and the big ones. Thank you again and especially to Dr B!

Horrible Experience! I really tried to like this location – considering how close it is to where I work. This was my first time using IRIS and I thought with such a big name that they would be a bit more professional. The doctor I received for my eye exam was nice but she made a few errors when testing my eyes- which, at the time I was understanding as she caught herself and she had explained she was tired and had a long day. I was told at this initial exam that they would order contacts in for me – I let the front staff know that I was on my last pair of contacts which expired in 10 days. I was rescheduled for my eye dilatation at a later date – (which went very well and the doctor that performed this was very knowledgeable). However, when I asked for my contacts the staff seemed very confused. They did not order my contacts in. At this point I am already wearing expired contacts. So again, they assure me that they will order contacts in. About a week later I receive a phone call saying that my “test trial” has arrived and that I would have to pay for a “fitting” – I was a bit thrown off as I was never told about any cost for this (and have never been charged by previous eye doctor in the past). When I told the girl on the phone that I was A) not told of the fitting price B) The company did not list any signs of this or provide any information – I was quickly dismissed and told that it was essentially not her problem. She could have simply had a representative reach out to me to clear up the misunderstanding especially since I told her all of the issues.Due to lack of communication and professionalism I will NOT return and I will be checking with the college of eye physicians and surgeons. Iris, has left me with expired contacts and has wasted my time and money.

I have worn glasses for literally 33 years and this was honestly the best experience I've ever had, and I've moved around a lot from smaller towns to major cities so I've been to a lot of different optometrists and opticians. The check up was thorough and everything was explained to me in a way that I could understand. They really listened to my concerns and when it came time to pick out frames, they 'got' what I was saying about my style and preferences. I ended up leaving with 3 pairs instead of 1, and they did not try to up-sell me. The whole staff was engaged and knowledgable and, I know this sounds crazy but, IT WAS FUN. Like, I had a great visit at the office. Plus, covid-protocols were in full effect so it was also safe. Highly recommended. If you need glasses or a check-up- go to IRIS Barrie.
