Bad customer service. The two women working there were extremely rude. I barely knew if they worked there when I walked in.
Friendly, well trained and very personable staff. Made me feel more like a friend than a customer :)
Replaced the broken arm on my glasses and adjusted them for free! Saved me alot on buying a new pair very very friendly people there (except this red head from about a year ago she was awful or maybe just a bad day)

Unfortunately the reviews of this place are accurate. I read them before going in but wanted to give the staff the benefit of the doubt before I visited. I only worked with one woman, she was a bit older and may have been management. First thing I noticed what she was not wearing a mask, nor did she have one near by to put on. Second when I asked what rules I should be following I was told, "the same as everywhere else." Which was in itself an ignorant thing to say as every prescription Eyewear place has a different set of rules and requests for customers. Third I was told not to touch anything if I didn't plan on buying from them as I'd be creating more work that she didn't want to do, which is incredibly ironic considering you need to put on glasses to make a decision towards making a purchase. Overall it was a bad experience and the woman who was addressing us needed a lot of work towards her customer service skills, I dont need her to bend over backwards for me, just some common sense would be appreciated.

Absolutely disgusted . Booked an eye exam. The glaucoma test was basically done by a school kid..was asked to pay the "doctor" cash He seemed disinterested at best. I asked about the glaucoma to be told i didn't have it I said i didn't understand as another doctor told me i did. He insisted i didn't have it gave me.a prescription. Was quoted $600 for glasses The lady looked at the prescription and said they were for readers. For $600 ???? Stay far far away. Sub standard exam, over priced and have jeapordised my eye health

My husband got his eye exam done from here they conducted the exam without his corrective lenses and a report was sent to the Ministry of Transport to have his license suspended. Extremely incompetent staff. When we visited them to show us the report they sent to the ministry they did not have a copy of that report. Do not visit this place if you want to have your problem cured. They will only create more issues for you.
First of all, I purchased my glasses and contacts from this store. Being my first time they made it easy and informed me with everything I needed to know. Great price as well with 70% off frames! Since then I’ve been in a few times for frame adjustments and today a full on repair that they dealt with in minutes! Great service made me a happy and returning customer.
I was honestly kind of shocked and disappointed when I went in for my eye exam and only the eye doctor was wearing a mask while the 3 other sales associates weren't wearing any at all especially during this time with the pandemic. I left instead of looking for frames because I couldn't believe it and the representatives there seemed a little cold and off putting.
Charged me way to much for glasses I have only every paid 500 with the deals and this time I paid over 800 ,now because of covid I have no way of getting my glasses that I paid for ,before they closed they could have contacted with information on how to pickup my glasses ????

The sales associate that greeted me and helped me pick out frames was very nice. When I got up to the counter she worked out the pricing for me... Another sales lady who was older came over and rudely barked "whats the problem?" to the associate. The old lady was very condescending and told the associate she was going to check over the pricing she had given me. Not a pleasant experience at all. Disgusted in how the sales associate was treated.

I was greeted with a smile and the service was excellent. Even though it was busy with numerous other eye examinations, I was not forgotten during the process. They were quite candid about my needs, and after some discussion, were not anxious to sell me on something more expensive. I would recommend them to anyone! Rudy ????
After having a bad experience at the George Street location many years ago with their 2 for 1 sale which I was never able to use because I couldn't see out of them after repeatedly returning and not getting satisfaction, I decided to try the new location on Lansdowne. Now when you go into Hakim, you are probably going to spend somewhere between $400 and $800 or more. A young lady walked up to me right away and asked if she could help me. I told her what I was looking for and that I was on a fixed income. I guess she thought it would be helpful to ask if I had insurance but I doubt I would have mentioned my situation if I had insurance and I said so. She walked away down to the back and from the front of the store I could hear her, in a loud voice, relaying our conversation to her coworker. I walked to the back to inform her that I heard her clearly at the front of the store. She acted like she didn't know what I was talking about. I put down the glasses I had been looking at and went out and took my business to another store. You know who you are, young lady with the black hair in a braid hanging over your right shoulder. You lost a sale today and it will be a long time, if ever, before I go to a Hakim to buy my glasses.
Just visited your store and Simran was the person that helped me. She was excellent, provided all the info I needed and fixed my frames. best customer service I have had in a long time and I recommend this store highly. Thank you. Henry

I found it took over an hour to have the eye exam because they overbooked. The staff who greeted us was friendly but the eye exam Dr. Himself was not not overly friendly.
worst customer service I have ever experienced. I ordered Ray Ban glasses which they told me would arrive within 2 weeks. 3 weeks later I called and they told me the frames were in but the lenses weren't. A few days later I call and they tell me that the lenses were in but the frames weren't. A few more days later still no sign of them so I call them back and they finally tell me they forgot to order the frames, and they were totally unapologetic they had no sign of sympathy. so finally I went back and talked to them and the lady helping me was rude and sarcastic telling me that my 3 and a half week wait was on par with how long it should take because they failed to mention that it was going to take 2 weeks in business days. She then went on to add that I would see my glasses in 2 more weeks (business days) bringing the total time frame to get these glasses to almost 6 weeks. I proceeded to get my money back when they freaked and tried to tell me I was committing insurance fraud even though I had not submitted a claim to my insurance. Overall terrible service terrible people working and quite frankly the lady helping me should not be working customer service if she's going to be sarcastic and rude.
Absolutely terrible customer service. I asked the woman at the front if she had any spare arms similar to the ones that broke off my frame (which i had to get repaired three times already previously due to terrible quality of the frames themselves). She said “no” immediately, without even bothering to take a look. When I questioned her further about looking, she sighed and said “we know what we have but I’ll take a look”. She looked for about two seconds, and returned saying that I was out of luck. When I explained that I didn’t have a warranty and couldnt afford completely new frames, she looked at me as if I had three heads and offered no suggestions. I asked for head office’s number because her reluctance to help as well as her rude demeanor rubbed me the wrong way, and she let me know that she “didn’t care”. I normally get treated nicely at other hakims and I have had many employees spend time fixing my glasses, especially if it is evident that the breakage is from the quality of the frame. This woman was extremely immature and just overall rude. I would not recommend coming here!
What a joke. Came into this location and clearly stated I felt my contact lens prescription was too strong as my eye sight has improved and that I wanted to book an eye exam so I could get a new prescription. I was told it would cost $80.00 cash. Came to my appointment today, had my eye exam and was given a prescription for glasses. When I asked the optometrist for the prescription for contact lenses I was told I had to get it from the girls at the desk. I'm sure you can guess what's coming. I was told I needed my contacts fitted. Um, well I don't recall saying I wished to purchase any there. After a lot of run around I was told 'we only give out prescriptions when you buy your lenses from us.' Are you kidding??? Might have been nice if she'd mentioned it when I booked my appointment. I had planned to shop around for lenses, knowing you can often find them cheaper on line although I was still considering buying them, and glasses, from Hakim. Not any more. Condescending attitude from staff (I won't mention her name although I do have it). My advice if you need an eye exam done; book with an eye doctor who cares about your eyes, not an operation like this that cares only about making a sale and over inflating prices. Will NEVER be back.
I lost my glasses and my contacts kept scratching my eye. I didnt have a prescription so this made it difficult. During this difficult time most, eye exams were a 2 week wait and with being blind at thus point, I got in on the same day. Also had my glasses in leas then 1 week. I called 10 different places and just to get glasses ( for my prescription) was minimum 2 weeks. So happy to be able to see and not have any eye issues !
