Raised Price while having Covid Pandemic. And bad customer services. Hi Char, sorry for raising my voice, but have you thought why I raised my voice? When I asked how much I have to pay to exchange my glasses frames after purchasing if I don't like your store frame, you were invading my privacy. If your store doesn't allow it, you could answer simply as 'no, we are not serving it. But you asked a concrete reason to me and suspected me. As you may think customer is Not a king anymore, you are right. But customers are not con artists either. Probably this was second time getting service from you. Every time, I felt your Not-welcoming and rude service to me. The reason is maybe I am an old Asian. I have worn glasses more than 40 years. Your service was the worst which I have experienced. You were not happy with me, I left to stop arguing with you and went down the 1st floor store to explain what happened and purchase the glasses. As you were the professional , you phoned immediately to block my purchase from 1st floor store. Really I don't think you treated me well, because other store associates were kind. I got a quote in July. The price was raised. And the free frame is not provided if you are using your own frame . Even you have to pay $10 more. I didn't understand, but I didn't ask the reason as why , not like you, Char. Would you shop at this store?

Second Specs had 2 new frames and lenses in about an hour for a little over $200. Was super easy and Matt was amazing and helpful. Will be back for my sunglasses lenses.

Can't praise this Business enough ! ! As British ex-pats now resident in Edmonton we were bemoaning the lack of quality, affordable, convenient Eyeglass outlets in the city. These are readily available in the UK. But chancing upon Second Specs saved the day ! Our assistant 'Char' was a delight - knowledgeable & possessed of a great sense of humour. They confirmed my prescription from my broken pair of glasses & I found a stylish pair of in-house frames - for free ! Husband had ditto experience with his reading pair. Will be returning soon with a pair of vintage 70's Dior frames for my script to be fitted into (costs $10) & polarized, for sublime Summer shades.

Great service, amazing turnaround time, and right there, ready to help when other glass places in the mall are turning people away. I was so happy to find them after getting denied at two stores. My glasses broke and I was desperate. Got an awesome new set in a snap and for a reasonable price. All with a smile and with kindness. Super pro.

I took in an old pair of glasses that I haven’t worn for years. Second Specs put lenses in them even though I’ve been told by other eye glass companies that it can’t be done. I am quite happy with the glasses and the service was fantastic. They even recommended a good anti-fog to use while wearing a Covid mask. 2 thumbs up.

I always have a very good experience when I come to this location. Just like before all my expectations has been exceeded. The staff are always courteous, friendly and very helpful. They processed my one pair right away and my progressive lenses will take a little longer which is fine, I am happy I have a new pair I can use right away. They processed my payment for the insurance with no hassle, and best of all their frames are lightweight, very comfortable and extremely affordable unlike my previous optometrist that over charged for frames and then told me they would give me a discount on the frames, seriously!!! So anyone who has never tried Second Specs before, then I would say you need to give them a chance cause it’s the most affordable, comfortable pair you will ever own.

Excellent service! I brought in fragile vintage frames but they were really delicate and careful to not break them when putting in new lenses. I've been to other places with these frames but I was denied service, broke my vintage frames or tried to convince me to buy their frames. But the people from second specs were so helpful that even when I told them the new lenses were giving me headaches they changed them on the spot with no additional costs. Definitely coming back here!

Used this company years ago when I had prescription lenses with excellent experiences. Now, after laser eye surgery, I found myself looking for blue light lenses that can accommodate my astigmatism. The service was as excellent as always from all staff. Attentive, friendly, and willing to work with me the customer. Direct billing is offered for my insurance (blue cross) and they are ready in a great time if not the day of! Always recommended by me.

I go to the one in the first phase of West Edmonton Mall. Always get great service! My ten-year-old son had his glasses picked out and we were finished paying Within 10 minutes of showing up. You absolutely cannot beat the prices. Since the first time I have used this place I have never gone anywhere else. If you have a tight budget but want something that looks nice this is the place to go. Don't let the fact that it is in a kiosk make you think twice they are very professional and accurate! Because my eldest son's prescription didn't change he has had the same pair of glasses from these guys for 3 years. Granted because these guys are so cheap he also has a couple other pairs now. I just wanted to point out that the very first glasses we got him are still as good as new and because they're so cheap we have added a few more pairs on over the years.

I had such a horrible experience at Hakim Optical that I needed to find a new place to get glasses. I saw the kiosk at WEM and wasn’t sure what to think as it was a kiosk but I took a brochure and read it. I thought I’d give them a try. They had my née glasses ready in a few days and I got the advanced progressives. Wow!!!! They are awesome!!! Larger reading area and so much clearer and they really listened when I told them what Hakim had done that I disliked and they made sure my glasses were marked out to where I use them and where they are comfortable on my face!!!! They made sure they fit properly and it was a totally wonderful experience! Will definitely be back and recommend them as well!!

My daughter needed glasses on very short notice 3 days to be exact she is not a standard prescription. I was at a total loss on how to figure this out before she needed to travel for basic training. I googled in store pick same day prescription glasses. The 1st one that came up I called which was Second specs in West Edmonton the one near sport check. They were able to help me immediately not only did they have the lenses but they had 2 sets. We dont live in the city so I emailed them payment and picked up 3 days later . I was so impressed with the cost, the customer service that I myself ended up replacing my prescription glasses with not 1 but 3 .

Got a pair of prescription glasses from them about 2 years ago. The coating started to wear off in the past few months, today, after washing and cleaning them, a big chunk of the coating just vanished. after over a decades and 5+ sets of glasses, I have never seen quality of coating so bad.

I wish could rate this less than 1 star. I purchased a pair of glass last October and the frame snapped in a month since then they replaced the frame twice and they both snapped in a matter of months or weeks. The quality is as bad any item you may buy from a cheap dollar store. The store manager Char shamelessly argued with a straight face they stand by their product, it's us mishandling the glasses. This explains their low price, what you pay is what you get! It costed me multiple trips, lots of minutes on the phone and now I have to pay for another pair out of my pocket.

Got a pair of these during the pandemic and honestly they broke kinda quick. Went to the shop and seen a very nice gentleman name Marcus, and he set me up with a replacement pair FREE of cost. Love second specs, these ones are perfect and I just wont be as rough on them as I was with the first lols. These glasses are a GREAT option if your tired of spending an arm and a leg for essentials.
