Hakim optical west ed was a wonderful experience. My father and I first ordered a pair of glasses after long decision making and not being able to find the right frame elsewhere, Sarah Tjihero opened up the designer glass section and gave me various options that were all suitable making it very difficult to choose (in a good way). She took very good care of me while I know I am difficult to please. The story doesn't end there though. After receiving my frames, only a week later my father and I had a little mishap and my glasses were lost in the brand new condition they were purchased. After going back and explaining this we were helped out with a small discount that we were very appreciative of, and since my frames were on back order and no longer in stock anywhere in AB, Sarah and Satwinder went out of their way to call all Ontario stores and finally found my frame within one week round 2 of my new frames were ready!! Thanks guys and I would recommend shoppers visit this location when purchasing new glasses! Kind regards, Avital

This business has taught me to resist stores that do not visibly price their stock. I don't think the theatrical effort to determine a price in front of the customer is valid or honest.
The lens doesn't even fit in the frame with the edges sticking out. And the lens are thick "Premium SV 1.53 Triite Elite ARC"
Worst customer service of all time. The staff are extremely rude. Asked one of the ladies about a pair I picked out and was asking her about it when her and another staff member started arguing with one another about it and somehow I got thrown in. By the time the dust settled, she actually walked away from me, ignored me and I could actually hear her swearing about me lol I ended up going to optics international instead shortly afterwards. Got the same pair for less money and was in and out within 30 minutes.
Doctor left the early at 4:30pm because they had lots of cancellations and didn't follow through with my parent's 6:30 appointment. They gave my parents the option to go there within 10 minutes and that wasn't possible at the time. My parents drove all the way from Fort McMurray for this appointment. They could have simply confirmed that my parents were coming to their appointment instead of giving them an impossible option which forced them to cancel.

Hakim Optical was the place I always bought my glasses!! Well NOT ANYMORE!! They DO NOT take responsibility for the actions!!!! I took my broken frame and lens in to see what options I had. After going through some options and picked out some new frames , I was undecided, so I told them I will think about and will come back. So they just put my lens and broken frame along with the other new frames I was deciding on in their blue tray til I return. Well Covid happened and I just couldn't get back to the store! Finally went back to decide on a frame , and the girl that had help me initially was there, and she remembered me! But they couldn't find my tray! So they said they will keep on looking and give me a call. Didn't hear back, so I gave them a call. They person on the line said that they couldn't find it , that they were new staff and that there was no evidence of my even leaving my frame and lens there! And there is nothing they can do! That they had called all the customers to come pick up their glasses before the Covid shutdown! Never did i receive a call! Nothing you can do???? That's $400 down the drain for me!! I've spent to much money purchasing glasses from Hakim, and there's nothing you can do???? So I asked to speak to someone that has the authority to do something! She said she will get the manager to call me back! Haven't received a phone call!!
I have a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses which needed to be tightened. I went into Hakim Optical in WEM. The staff were so friendly and helpful - tightened the arms of my sunglasses very quickly and even cleaned and polished them! No charge so wanted to leave them a great review!!
i had a great experience at Hakim Optical. The customer service was amazing, and all the workers were so sweet. my glasses fit perfectly and i’m very happy with them.
Dr. Jomha went above and beyond with my 7 year old son! He joked and chatted with him through the entire exam. I will definitely be returning and bringing my other 2 children! The front end staff was so helpful and great as well! Thanks so much for making our experience so awesome!
I know browsing isn't the brightest thing to do during COVID, but the staff was cool with letting me look around for a bit. ✌️Not sure what the deal is with the hefty negative reviews, like chill out dudes. I didn't get that impression from them. You win some you lose some.

Super helpful. I was costume designing for a local theatre and one of our pairs of glasses lost a screw. Walked into Hakim and they were great. Fixed it right up and even tightened all the other screws.

Thursday august 12th 1.45pm went there to look for prescription glasses and the white sales girl ruined my whole experience there. Toronto stores are much better for sure. She sounded racist to me.
My experience began with someone on staff lying to me. Once I had picked out my frames and went to pick them up a week later than it would have been most other places in the area to give me my completed glasses, I was informed by their tech that my glasses could not be adjusted because they are 'memory plastic' and 'very difficult' to manipulate, while he showed off just how bendy the ear pieces were and how they snapped back into form. I showed him my old pair where the arms were bent almost into an L the curve was so sharp and told him I never would have bought these frames had someone told me they could not be adjusted. He said he'd see what they could do and took them back to shape them. I have it on good authority that HE is the one who lied to me, not the woman who sold me the frames by failing to tell me I was buying a hunk of plastic that would fall off my face, as I asked a former Hakim tech who told me that any pair of glasses should be able to be adjusted. When he came back with my adjusted frames I put them on and he checked behind my left ear to see how they were fitting. I informed him that my right ear had some fresh cartilage piercings and to be gentle. He said okay and proceeded to yank on my ear which hurt a fair bit. All this is annoying, but the frames were adjusted and seemed to fit as well as could be expected considering I have a small face and difficulty finding glasses so I was willing to let it slide. Then two days later the right ear piece snapped in half while I was settling them on my face. This, combined with the fact that the glasses just flat-out did not fit and had such a bad glare I couldn't see when back lit and had yet to hear back from their customer service people three days later (unrelated to this particular store, a flaw in their online presence), I decided these frames were not for me and I wanted to return them. When I inform the woman who is working sales that day that I would like to return them she charmingly informs me that they cannot accept returns, that returning glasses would be like "returning underwear". She told me she had to look some stuff up and it would take a little while and sent me off for a bit, which gave me a chance to ask as many other glasses stores as I could about their return policy and all of them at the very least offered exchanges, most offering 30 day returns. Once I get back I am greeted by the man who fit my glasses before and I asked to speak to someone above them. His smile disappeared and he told me that would be their regional manager (I could have their title wrong, but it was a manager above people working in that store). I asked for their number, but he refused to give it to me and offered to give my number to them instead. Since I had yet to hear from customer service I highly doubted that I would hear anything, so I asked again, asked if they didn't have office hours because that's ridiculous. Nope, no office hours. He sends my number off, hands me the new frames I did not ask for and did not want, and I put them away and inform them that I am expecting a call and what I learned in asking about the return policies at other stores. He just nods and says okay. I have yet to hear back, though nothing could make this experience better unless I got a full refund. How, exactly, would giving me money back for the frames, just the broken frames that they entirely replaced anyway, be the same as trying to return underwear? And, I dunno about anyone else, but if I bought $200 underwear I would expect that I should be able to return them in the event there's a defect, or at the very least exchange them for another pair if my opinion of the first was soured. Glasses should be returnable/exchangeable. They are for your vision, they have to fit, they have to work, and you can't possibly tell that in the 30 seconds you can try them on in the store. Hell, if your prescription changed you're SUPPOSED to have difficulties seeing for the first few days before you can tell if the prescription is actually off.
Google Maps and even Hakim Optical own website indicates that the store opens at 10 a.m. West Edmonton Mall customer service says that it opens at 10 a.m. Here it is 10:45 and they're still locked. What a waste of time.
I'll never visit this Hakim. I have had the worst service here. Careless, and do not care about the client. Gave me a lot of trouble.

Some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. This place is off-puttingly geared towards making a sale, as made evident by the eye exam that they try to shove down your throat (which, when I went years ago, got my prescription wrong!), the evasive non-answers they give you when you inquire on the cost of their frames (I had to ask twice in order to receive a definitive answer as to the price of a pair of frames; the first time I asked, I was answered with, "I think they cost __, but they might be __." The sales associate then proceeded to tell me about the most expensive lenses they offer), and the annoyance with which they respond to your queries (I'm sorry, but I like to know at least the basic information (yes, that includes the price) of something before I purchase it). On top of it, they'll make you wait days longer than any other place to pick up your glasses (and I have as basic of a prescription as it gets). Yes, their frames and lenses may be cheaper than almost anywhere else, but I have made it a matter of principle to never step foot in here ever again.
Great place to get glasses and eye check ups they were very polite and super friendly and even gave us complimentary hats while we waited for my glasses would definitely recomend

went here a few weeks ago.the manager seems to think yelling and being rude is the way to greet customers and not only that but she think i cant hear her talk about $/-/!t about me through the wall? shes the only one with a thick accent so cant seem to guess its anyone else pathetic save ur money and dont go here

Hakim optical sold me a pair of glasses. Within 1 day the lens fell out. The Sunglasses clip on was not flush and had movement in the glass area. I took the glasses back to them and complained about the lens falling out. I did not even address the clip on Sunglasses clip. The lady told me that the reason my Lens was falling out was because the glass was too thick for the frame. I did not accept this answer, so, I eventually complained enough and they gave me a new frame and glasses. Within 2 days the frame snapped . According to an optometrist I recently talked to the glass they used is too large for both frames that they sold me. I will never give them another $ of my hard earned money. My mom and I went in here to compare prices after getting our first estimate at lenscrafters. We dealt with Jessie...she was fantastic. She knows her job well and gave us a great deal on a frame and prescription. There was also another lady there this day and she was super as well but I didnt get her name. I hate to be that guy but I felt our experience was sooo much better at Hakim than it was at lenscrafters. I felt lenscrafters was overpriced and didnt really deliver on the so called deals they had on there website. Wont be going back to lenscrafters anytime soon but will be heading back to Hakim if and when the need ever rises. Highly recommended by me????

The eye dr was on lunch while we picked out glasses for my daughter. We had to come back after 20 minutes because his sales ladies aren't trained to measure pupil distance. We did come back. Then we waited another 20 minutes in the store while he was taking a number 2. When he finally got back to work he gave unsolicited advice about my 600$ fendi eyeglasses (we were NOT shopping for me and i love my glasses) and wanted my daughter to reselect her choice. I found his manners to be horrible. Don't waste your time and shop elsewhere!

HAKIM OPTICAL'S PRICES ARE VERY REASONABLE AND THEY GIVE FREE WARRANTY ON THE FRAME, WHEREAS MOST PLACES CHARGE FOR IT. I RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION TO ANYONE WHO LOOKING FOR QUALITY PRODUCT AS WELL AS GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE!
Never again. Not another penny. 2nd pair broke by falling off my face and landing on a counter about a foot down. Brought them in and they replaced frame. Went home. Could not see out of them. Came back in....girl adjusted and adjusted then said you will just have to wear them that way. Lol. Threw them on counter and left. I had worn them not at all....

Got couple glasses at this location. Anna and the team are great! They helped me find glasses that look good on me and my wife likes alot, they were able to have them ready the same day too. They really went above and beyond with their service and I am grateful for it. 5 stars for sure. Will definitely recommend them and go back when I need more.
Today I went there because I have a pair of Cartier glasses that needed to be a littler bit tighter and when I got there I told them I would pay for them to help the lady helped me out and when I went to go pay she told me not to worry about it even in this hard time people still care about good service I just wanna say thank you and I will make sure to let everyone I know of this amazing experience I had there
I had an awful experience. I usually don't get glasses here but went for the 50th anniversary sale. There were 3 people working and the first girl that helped me seemed to lose interest and then ignored me. The store is dirty and the staff is not well trained. When I finally did pick out my glasses I confirmed they were both a part of the promotion. Two staff members argued with each other over whether it was worth it to have mirror coating on my sunglasses. Two other men argued over who was going to give me the pricing which they scribbled on a scrap piece of paper. After all of this.. they had given me the wrong price and the glasses were not a part of the promotion. I cancelled everything and left. Such a waste of time. Extremely disappointing store. It's amazing your still open with how many other options there are in the city. I will never return.

Very unprofessional! I tried to get my contact lense prescription faxed to another location closer to where I live and they told me they didn't have it without even asking my name. Unreal. Now I have to pay to get another prescription.. thanks Hakim... Ugh!

I was extremely disappointed with the customer service. I had called in advance to book appointments for myself and my husband for eye exams. I had spoke on the phone with a sales person that assured me that they direct bill to our insurance companies, yet when I arrived I was told they didn't for my husband's company. Then as they attempted to look up my coverage, they were having issues and said they couldn't process it without more info. I wasted my morning going here, it felt as if they just didn't want to make the sale or help us in any way. As if they were trying to get us to leave. Well they succeeded because I will never go back to a Hakim Optical again thanks to them and they lost out on a huge sale.

Awesome place for eye exams and to buy your glasses. I couldn't believe the price. Two prescriptions, two pairs of glasses for a quarter of what I paid for my last "one" pair of glasses. Doctor Sharifzadeh new exactly what she was doing and Jasmina was a huge help right from the original booking to the end of the entire process. What a team! I recommend this place to anyone looking for an eye exam and/or buying glasses.
i must say this location is the best optical place in Edmonton. I have bought glasses from this location 3 years ago and they still in best shape.The staff is amazing! They even fixed my old pair from different place. they helped my mom to choose glasses after several big brand named stores could't. they even noticed a mistake with my insurance that was done by competitor and could cost me 50$ thanks to Hakim optical , my mom have the glasses she been looking for and Hakim have another happy customer. Thank you!

I went in to get some glasses the other day and honestly, it was amazing! Alexander showed me around making sure I felt welcomed and that I made the right choices with my frames. I also met the manager and the staff a few times prior as I like to get a feel for places I would potentially like to shop at. Great selection, great customer service, and will definitely be recommending my friends and family! I don't agree with the last comment saying the manager was rude! Maybe she had a bad day but she's awesome!

Well there seems to be a common problem trying to call any Hakim's outlet. Just wasted half hour calling St Albert, WEM and South side. They don't answer phones at the 3 locations listed. Didn't bother calling the last one. Wonder if the owner knows this.......I no longer care. Have wallet will travel.
