My daughter broke her glasses and we were in a crunch to get them fixed. Jessie and Carolina provided us with excellent customer service and they were very helpful and very kind, I appreciated how knowledgeable they were! My daughter is a very nervous kid and they made her feel very comfortable during the visit. Thanks for making our visit so great and thanks for all your hard work and time. Keep up the amazing work ????

I took my husband for an eye appointment in Feb,2015. The appointment was fine it's the eye glasses that are the problem. He ordered the transitions lenses. We went to this company because they said we would get the glasses in an hour. They didn't have the lenses his prescription needed. We still haven't got the transitions. Use your judgement, but I find the service horrible and they are liars. I would like to get a refund( as they did provide a temporary pair with regular lenses) and just order a pair at Costco. At least there I have recourse if there are problems.
Nice people. But terrible service. Was told my glasses would be sent out and done in a week. Called them a week later and they never even sent them out. Called them in a week again and something in wrong with them and have to be sent out again (dont know if I believe that or if they are wasting my time by not sending them in).
The optometrist I had was efficient, but not very chatty or friendly. The ladies at the front are helpful and friendly.
The two ladies that work there were absolutely amazing. I almost did not go to that location because of most of these reviews. I am so glad I listened to my own instincts because my experience was A1. My glasses did not even take that long, they called me for a pick up just as she had estimated. SATIESFIED CUSTOMER
Good selection, no customer service. First time I ever put glasses on I like the vision I like the frames hate the way they fit and they're telling me that's all that they can do
The exam went well but I waited three and a half weeks for my lenses (I provided my own glasses) and no communication from them. My glasses did come back perfect and they had a hard time fitting the new lenses into my frames. I just wish there had been better communication.
I have been wearing glasses for 40 years and these are the WORST pair I've ever owned. Hakim Optical should have a warning posted on the front door, Enter and Purchase at Your Own Risk!! The staff that help you choose your glasses (I have found out) are not trained professionals, but Joe Blow off the street with very minimal training!! Can you imagine this, these are Hakim's standards when it comes to someone eye sight, really?!! My frames have NEVER fit properly and getting help from their staff is useless as they just make it worse!! The frames are so cheap they twist out of shape on a constant basis. I have been there multiple time to get them fixed and are Never satisfied. I also wear progressive lenses and was concerned that the frames the staff member practically shoved down my throat were too small to accommodate my lenses. I was assured that there was plenty of room. Now I only have clear vision when I look straight ahead, that's it...everything else is blurry. The last thing is I had requested to have anti-glare coating on my lenses, that started to wipe off every time I cleaned my glasses!!! Talk about blurred vision!! When I complained of all these issues, this is what I was told: First of all, I choose the lenses, so if I don't have clear vision, that's my fault!! I was told that I have "used up" all my customer service time trying to fix the twisted frames of my glasses and they weren't going to "waste" any more of their staffs time!! And about the anti-glare, they claim I must be using some kind of household cleaner on my glasses and that isn't their fault, its mine and they won't fix them!! I endured almost constant headaches, I can not drive at night and attending my University lectures is extremely hard, as I can't see the presentations!!! Hakim has made my life hell for almost two years!! Thank goodness I have almost saved up enough money to get a DECENT pair of glasses.
Hakim Optical was absolutely amazing, great service! My sister and I were both in need of new glasses, Carolina helped us find the pair that suited us the best. She was patient and insured that we were happy with our choices. We will definitely be using Hakim again in the future!
I'm confused by all the bad raitings, the store has all the frames layed out unlocked so you aren't being followed by a worker while you ask to see single pares like most stores, my glasses came in and I had no issues with the quality or the rate at which they showed up.
You pay for their mistakes. Ordered 2 pairs of glasses and couldn't see out of either pair even after making adjustments. Seems like a wrong prescription was put in them. Wouldn't take them back to fix and sent me home, out of province, with 2 pairs of useless glasses. Cannot use at all. DO NOT GO HERE AT ALL!!
I brought in my glasses I bought 13 months ago beacause the coating started peeling off. The clerk told me that it was my fault and I would have to pay. It was obvious as there was something defective with the coating as these have never been abused and the coating was peeling from regular use. The manager did get me new lenses under warranty after originally leaving a 1 star review. Thank you for making this right!
Great selection, priced right, absolutely horrible service. I went in on May 28 to check out their pricing and deals. Found a couple of pairs of glasses that were inexpensive and they said that they could direct bill. Turns out they can't direct bill, so I just paid from my savings. They told me that I would be able to come back in three to five business days to pick up the glasses. I figured that I'd give them the work week, and the weekend, to complete the glasses (6 business days total). I called on June 6, no answer to messages. Called June 7, they said that the glasses weren't done yet and they would be done at 4pm. Went to pick up the glasses, they still weren't done. They told me it would be another hour. Went back, still no glasses. Called again this morning (June 8) no answer. Drove from the west end to go to the store, and guess what!? Still not done. Going on 9 business days so far. At this rate I won't be getting them before my family vacation this week. So I guess I won't be "seeing much" of my family. All the time and driving completely outweighs any cost savings I'd be getting from the advertised sale. What a waste of time. Horrible... horrible company. My advise, go somewhere else, go anywhere else!!! **Update** I used their contact form via their website to contact the customer service department. Within two hours I was contacted by their area manager who physically drove to the branch and fixed the situation. He then offered to deliver my glasses for me. It was a very nice gesture and the situation has been completely addressed. I have increased my rating on the review to reflect it.

"Organized Chaos"--said the receptionist. glasses all over the place. you are literally looking at 1000 pairs of glasses to find that one pair. "The owner likes it this way". it took me almost an hour to find 3 pairs that were ok. Called today to book an appointment with the Optician. Doesn't book appointments. "Just walk in", said the receptionist. Me: how many people are there now? Lots. Me: no thank you. To the owner: please read the reviews. This is horrible. I'm only posting cause my experience was terrible yesterday. I had no idea what others had said. You're batting 1.3 out of 5 stars. That's a sign that you're not meeting the needs of your customers.
Overpriced trash. Very flimsy glasses, almost dollar store quality. Couldn't believe the disarray of glasses everywhere. Just sprawled out all over the place. The staff is unfriendly, and they look like they want to get out of there as bad as I did. Any frame in there should not cost over $200 considering mine are designer frames and cost $100 more than those. And to top it all off, there is literally 100 pictures of random people all over the store. It made me feel really uncomfortable.

Horrible experience here I've made several attempts to get my glasses here. My last attempt was a few days ago. I waited 30 minutes to get served because when the Asian lady was done with her customer she turned around and stated doing paper work which was fine however I stood there waiting for a long time. When I received service the one lady said I had to wait for the dr to come in at 3 pm because she couldn't read his hand writing then the Asian lady decided that was when she would acknowledge me and agree with the women helping me. They said they couldnt process my prescription until the next day because it was inventory and that they would get it started for me but it would take 48 hours to be processed. I chose not to get my glasses there
eye exam went great and I just needed lenses replaced. I waited a week and a bit before getting a call for measurements and took 1 hour when i went in to find out glasses hadn't even been sent off. I never heard back and had to call to find out they were finished another two weeks later and I'm still waiting on my second pair. noone seems to know what the hell is going on there.
I went to get my glasses fixed the man was extremely rude and very distant. I asked him a few questions about the repair he asked "are we playing 21 questions here". Horrible experience, I hope he reads this and remembers how much of an unpleasant personality he has.
Poor customer service. Their staff called me one time and did not leave a message. I had to call to see if my glasses were ready. Can't see after adjustment. Had to wait for second pair. Same story. Staff called once and did not leave a message.
The staff is amazingly friendly. From my eye exam to picking out glasses, they made me feel like I was their priority.
I went in to see how much lenses would cost as I have a complex prescription. Other places quoted me between $800 -$850 just for the lenses. Hakim quoted me about $650, for the lenses alone. I'm already saving money. They happened to have a special on full glasses. I got 2 pairs with a custom nose piece for $830. The young lady that worked that day was very helpful as I probably tried on close to 20 frames. Very happy with the service.
I love the staff in this location! very accommodating and knowledgeable. Lots of great selection of frames. Parking is awesome. Chloe and Samantha are very helpful. It was Chloe that assist me and it was an awesome service. The doctor even spare time to answer my question as I am diabetec and with my condition my eyes has a big possibility to get affected. Will highly recommend to friends and family .
PSA : DO NOT go here for anything. Do not buy glasses, do not get an eye exam, do not go for an adjustment. This is the worst customer experience I have ever had.. Please read my experiences below!!! - 1st experience : I bought a pair of glasses from here after my old pair broke. First of all, their display is very unorganized and after rummaging through everything, I finally found a frame I liked and purchased them. Secondly, it took them almost 3 weeks to put the lenses in the frames and I had to call them to see if they were ready for pick up. Thirdly, when I went in to get them, I tried them on and the arms were loose, way to long and the frames were crooked. The old and very rude guy behind the counter fixed the crooked frame and said that was all he could do for me.. To this day I have not worn them because they don't fit at all. - 2nd experience : My mother recently went to this location for her yearly eye exam. Being that my mother is elderly, the optometrist suggested going to a specialist (which is fair). However, he suggested a specialist out in Sherwood Park. My mother is unable to drive due to health concerns, and asked the optometrist to suggest another specialist within the city that she could access. He declined and said this was her only option. She went to Sherwood Park, thinking this was her only option, paid 50$ in cab fair to go there and come back home. After 1 week, my mother called the specialist to get an update about her prescription and they said that it was sent to Hakim optical. So my mother called Hakim optical and they said they received it and haven't started her glasses yet. After 4 weeks, my mother called Hakim Optical again requesting her prescription be transferred to another optometrist because they were taking to long and she needed her new glasses. Hakim Optical refused to update her about the progress made on her glasses and declined to transfer her prescription or give it to her. - So all in all, this is easily the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Please save your self the time and effort of dealing with these people and just go somewhere else, anywhere else!
I'm shocked to see the low rating on this place! I had a wonderful time there with my kids and Carolina made them feel like there was no rush and her biggest concern was them being satisfied with their glasses. My 14 year old said when we left how happy she was that Carolina let her pick her glasses herself without forcing a pair on her. I like to buy online for savings purposes but honestly the extra amount was worth the experience Carolina provided!! 100% will go again for the kids..and myself in May when I'm due for a new pair!!

Great service from this location. My husband and myself need new glasses. I was very impressed with the selection of frames they had at this location. The ladies that helped us were very professional and answered all our questions and I loved that they could direct bill( some places are not set up to do that or insurance companies are not set up) but our insurance was. I also took in an old pair of sun glasses and had them put in new lenses ( as long as your frames are good). I will definitely be going back to this location.
When I picked up my glasses the center seemed off to me (Stephen never measured me prior to making them) so I told Stephen that when I look forward its blurry but if I tilt my head up it was clear. I asked if that could be fixed and he told me to wear them for a couple of days. I couldn't even wear them for a half hour before going back to my old glasses as my old glasses aren't blurry. I find it frustrating that my concern wasn't taken seriously. I'm not going back to this location. I took my new glasses to another hakim optical and they took my measurements and will get them fixed. I have always gone to Hakim optical but the Manning location is giving them a bad reputation.

I went to this location yesterday. I had a eye exam. Doctor was great. So my eyes have gotten a little worse after 10 years and it was time for new glasses. The staff here were amazing.Carolina helped me choose a perfect pair of glasses. She had so much patience with me and I really appreciate that.I will be telling friends and family about this location.I really appreciate the great customer service. Thanks so much!
Unorganized. Rude. Terrible communication between all the locations in the city. The manager is not personable at all. 10/10 would not recommend....trust the reviews lol
Great customer service. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. Carolina the manager was very patient with me and helped me pick out every day glasses, prescription sun glasses, and prescription safety glasses for work!

Bought 2 pair of glasses, big mistake! One pair broke. Went to have the other pair adjusted and I was talked to and treated like a dummy. I guess I am because I had bought from them!! Never will I shop there again. This is the Manning Crossing store.

Hakim is a great company. I love my glasses and only pay a fraction of some other shops. In addition, when my frames broke after a couple of years they gave me new frames and added my lenses for free. They have done nothing but exhibit great service for me and I will be a life long customer
What a disaster dealing with the staff at this location.If i could post a zero rating i would. It took almost 3 weeks to reach conclusion. Book an appointment i walk in a week later only to be informed my coverage wasn't good for several more days. They couldn't be bothered to check when i booked the appointment a week before??Incompetent lazy. I rebook again for several days later,walk in expecting things to finally move forward when the attendant says there is a charge for the eye exam of 80.00 Dollars. I've never paid for an exam before as it's covered by my benefits.They refused to waive the fee.I asked them to check with my provider again they refused.That was it for me. Went home phoned LENSCRAFTERS at Kingsway Mall had an eye exam appointment set up the next day(free of charge) and my glasses ready an hour later.No muss ,no fuss,no eye exam fees. Save yourself the headache and find somewhere else to shop for glasses.
The very first I went to Hakim was 4 yrs ago and it was an alright first experience, they had direct billing prices were good for 2 pairs it was alright. Second time was recently and I spoke to a younger woman, she checked my glasses prices and then told me I had a note on my benefits saying I hsd to pay the entire amount and then get it covered through my benefits on my own? This was odd because 4 yrs ago this was an issue and all my coworkers go to Hakim and have the same benefits and this has never been heard of? So I called my benefits and went to 2 other glasses prviders and all 3 said this wasnt an issue and have no idea why she would say this. I called and asked for the manager and then a day later and went in, he had no issues and did everything I asked! Stewart was great but I can say that for the young woman working there.. kind of gave me a bit of a run around... End all be all I will get my glasses in a few days to weeks for one of the pairs so Im happy. Just kind of sucks they didnt help me right away the first time I went in.
