I came in the store on my cell phone into an empty store with 3 staff tonight (August 21st, 2014), and mentioned to the lady at the front desk that the brand new glasses I had just purchased from Hakim were giving me a headache and leaving a flat spot on the muscle group behind my ears (Sternocleidomastoid muscles?). I asked for the glasses to be adjusted, and, after the young lady giggled, and went to the back, the glasses were adjusted. When they came back, they were worse. The lady doing the adjusting came out (Chantelle I think) and told me to get off my phone call so she could adjust my glasses. The tone and body language in which she exhibited was very condescending and disrespectful. This was very activating. I left the store to finish my call, and, when I returned, I apologised to her and said I was being disrespectful by being on the phone (in which she wholeheartedly agreed with me), and I mentioned that she was also very disrespectful which had me leave the store while I got some air (this time there were 2 other guests in the store). For a first time guest at this location, I would definitely avoid it, and, attend the Chinook location where the more seasoned staff seem to be (a previous Lens Crafters staffer is there, and has been working in this industry for over a decade; occurred as very professional when I was purchasing my glasses). For a regular client, this could have been a very reputation damaging experience. If I was the owner, I would definitely be coaching my staff to mind their tone and body language with clients, and even go as far as ensuring the staff have proper training in this area (who knows, maybe she hadn't eaten for more than 4 hours, and just needed a Snickers bar :-P).

Horribly Unprofessional Service Not only is the staff at the store unprofessional and extremely non serious about their work, their is a complete lack of order in the store and mismanagement everywhere. Please, if you value your time and money, do not make the mistake of going to Hakim Optical in Crowfoot. Your money is far better spent at any other optometrist in the area. They make you feel unwelcome and ridiculed. Extremely dissatisfied.

Very disappointed at the service I just received at Hakim Optical Crowfoot. I had Dr. Florence George for a routine eye exam and was very uncomfortable the entire time. I do not recommend going here for any service. There are many other optometrist in the area that will treat you far better. Not to mention I had to tell them multiple times to process my insurance before paying...

I bought my glasses at Hakim and they're nice. But it's the upkeep and support I get from them, specifically Setara, that keeps me going back. When I was looking to buy glasses, she gave me lots of great feedback and helped extensively with finding suitable frames. She was honest about what frames were best suited and provided recommendations on how I should get my lenses made, going over price point vs performance. My glasses came on time - though they were out of stock for cleaning fluid and wipes. With regards to maintenance after, due to having constant mask use, the nose pads of my glasses fall off from time to time and she's always gracious about helping to replace them or offer more comfortable types, as well as tighten loose bolts and general upkeep. Thanks for all your help, Setara. This branch (nevermind clumsy customers like myself) is lucky to have you!

I am so dissapointed in Hakim Optical that I have no idea where to start. For the last several years, I have gotten several pairs of glasses and also spent alot of money on them. I just went into the Crowfoot Hakim with a pair of my broken glasses (for the second time) and was told that they could not fix them because I was just past a year ??? So now what the hell do I do with these glasses that I loved and cannot wear any longer. Was very upset in the store when the man told me there was nothing he could do! Horrible horrible service and will NEVER WALK INTO HAKIM OPTICAL EVER AGAIN. SORRY GUYS YOU LOST A GOOD CUSTOMER!!! i HATE TO EVEN GIVE ONE STAR TO YOU PEOPLE. I WILL ALSO POST THIS ON SOCIAL MEDIA.

Very terrible quality. Frame got broken after a year (just after warranty was over) - while most of my frames last for tens of years. So, if your vision is changing, you may take a risk to by from Hakim, if not, better go for something more reliable. My lenses are expensive, so it was a huge disappointment. Frame was comfortable while it lasted, just didn't last very long.

They are not punctual with contact fitting appointments, extremely rude on the phone and not at all helpful. I don't know how this location is still open. Hakim head office should consider a full staff replacement.

The staff at this joint are very helpful, kind, and friendly. Gita personally picked out frames for me while I was there. The other staff member working at the back (Sukhi I believe) ensured I felt welcome and always asked if I needed help. My experience with the optician Mehraj, was very good. I have very sensitive eyes, and looking through glasses normally prescribed causes my eyes significant discomfort. Mehraj made an extra effort and many adjustments ensuring the prescription was comfortable for my eyes. It was a very positive experience, and I enjoyed talking with him. I would go again.

I got a pair of progressive glasses this year. I noted the vision became worse in my left eye after 2-3 months. I came back to the store. They checked the glasses and told me everything is perfect. They asked me to re-take eye exam which showed same as before. I was also checked by ophthalmologist. There was no problem in my eyes. But the fact is my vision became more blurred when I wear the glasses. I have to wear my old glasses that makes me feel better. They refused to do any thing for me. I will be no longer back to Hakim store. I will not recommend any one to this store.

They are okay. But if you need to order any contact lenses... Make sure to call.. The guy never seems to be in and they can't reorder anything for you unless he's in. Kind of annoying.

Been trying to cancel my appointment since Saturday morning and no one answers and there is no voicemail. Also, $95 for a basic eye exam is ridiculous. Walmart does it for $70 and they have way better prices for eyewear. I booked my appointment before seeing these reviews and after reading the bad service I knew I made a mistake. Guess I just won't show up since I can't seem to cancel formally.

The service here is over and above! Harp is the best. Though all of the employees are really accommodating. They also have phenomenal deals and extensive selection. I was floored at the good prices! When I said that I was going to check prices elsewhere, Harp gave me the names of all the competition in the area to help me. Haha, so I didn't waste too much energy checking. Hakim was obviously the best. I showed them my previous sunglasses to ask about lense replacement and before handing them back to me, the clerk asked if he may tighten them up for me because the hinges had gotten loose. This was even when I said that I was not going to purchase new sunglasses lenses here, though I should have. I bough new sunglasses online instead, but the instructions to measure my optical distance led me astray, so I had to bring those lenses in to Hakim, and they fixed them for me at no charge. I feel SO amazingly well taken care of out of a genuine spirit to serve people well. Do give them your business. It is worth the experience.

My Hakim purchased glasses suddenly experienced a crack in the middle of the lens. They weren’t dropped (I keep in my car) – just cracked one day when I went to put them on. Very odd. Center crack, not to the edge. So I Google the website to find info on the warranty: - I see that Crowfoot Calgary gets shockingly awful reviews for Hakim. Hmm, maybe it’s just the usual people who are never happy. - The auto detect location on the website doesn’t work, and entering a postal code just gets a page not found error. So there is no way to get to their Crowfoot Crossing web page. I email their IT department. - So I Google the phone # and call to check out the deals. I ask the indifferent person who answered about the $199 special. Apparently that special isn’t on yet – yet it’s the 1st thing you see on your website. He has no idea why. Okay, how much would it typically cost for 2 pairs? “Depends”. The special they have is for 3 pairs even though the website has no mention of it. So I give him details and that I want a cheap pair and he said it really depends. So in other words you’re afraid to tell me prices. I know it depends but I at least want a ballpark. - I ask about my cracked lens. Is it under warranty? “No”. Huh? Just no. Nice. Okay, how much to repair the lens? “It depends”. Again – he didn’t seem to care about the details or provide me with info – but he seemed to imply it was probably cheaper to just get a new pair of glasses – rather than just get the lens replaced. Huh? What a wasteful way to be. They made the glasses so one would assume the details of the lens would be at their fingertips. He made no effort. So in conclusion I’m never going to Hakim again. Neither will my friends or family.

I will not be returning here. When I walk in everything seem alright. I filled out some paper work and had to pay the exam fee up front, I paid cash and was told the Doctor would provide my change, I told them the main reason for me coming in was to get contacts. As I was browsing their glasses selection, I was standing maybe 5 feet from the two ladies at the desk. I guess they were having problems reading my first name and I could hear them giggling at every name the tried. Finally the one girl just came up to me and asked for my glasses. I continued to browse and these girls giggled and fooled around completely unprofessional the whole time. At one point a man came in to buy sunglasses. Finally I was brought back to the waiting room and I could hear these girls making fun of the mans name after he left and still giggling. Finally I go into the exam room and the first thing the doctor is worried about is if I have another method of payment as she did not have change to give me and if I wanted to pay cash I would have to wait 2 weeks to receive it. I again tell her I am hoping to get contacts. When the exam is over she does not tell me anything, all she says is she will bring me up front to pay. She brings me to the counter, tells the girls im paying by credit and walks off. I have no idea how the exam went. So I again tell the girls I was hoping to get contacts, the one girl turns around and stares at a man behind some glass for a while then says "I guess he cant read my mind" and finally goes to get him. He comes out and asks if I have ever had contacts before and I told him No. He brings me back to another room and we just sit there staring at each other. Finally he says he cant take any measurements and holds up a light bulb... I leave. I was so unhappy with this place, I told them from the minute I walked in I was there for contacts and after they made fun of my name and others, took my money and wasted a lot of my time then they decide to tell me they cant do contacts today. They are extremely unprofessional. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I could have went to my previous eye doctor if I just wanted to know my prescription. I ended up going to Costco right after leaving Hakim and they were able to fit me in within a week to get fitted for contacts and I ordered glasses which were ready within 3 days, they treated me with much more respect. I will recommend Costco over Hakim any day. I will never be returning to Hakim.

I wish I would have went somewhere else. I put money down because a staff member named “bo” said I could get a pair of glasses which I needed, and pay the rest after insurance came through. Turns out the ladies who were there knew he wasn’t allowed to do that but they didn’t say anything. We needed these glasses quickly, so after I put money down they said three to five business days. So I called on the 5th day, to be told it would be another three days. So I go in on that third day, and they tell me they aren’t ready and to come back in a few more days. So I then talk to a girl who works in the back, and turns out they are ready and sitting in the back-right where the other girl looked and told me they weren’t there. Overall not a good experience I do not recommend.

I came in today and purchased my eye glasses . I was in the other day and put a pair of frames on hold till I received my prescription. The gentlemen I dealt with when picking the frame was a great gentlemen, helpful and very professional. Super friendly and always had a smile on his face. When I came in with my prescription I was helped by a young blonde lady and she was fully of happiness and when I asked her what she thought of the frame she told me the complete truth , which I appreciated greatly b cause without glasses it’s hard for me to see how they looked on me. She was very friendly and helped me feel confident about my choice for glasses. We discussed different progressive lenses with her as well. Her explainations where perfect and she drew diagrams of lenses to get the meaning across, which definitely helped in making my decision on which to go with . In the end I decided to go with Visual Harmony Nikon lenses with transition and all the coatings. However she did explain she wasn’t an optician and was unable to do the optical measurements and said she would get her co- worker who was an optician ( experienced optician) he came after a few calls from the young lady . She did call and ask for measurements a few times and he took his precious time which was a little annoying to me and to the lady who worked their. When he finally came to the counter to do the measurements after several several minutes and said he would be doing the measurements and asked what lenses and frames. When the lady employee told him what the order was I was able to smell a lot of cigarette smoke on him and was able to smell alcohol or something very high in mint flavour from him . I thought that was odd and kept on seeing how he was doing the measurements and he was a little shaky which he explained was natural for him. After he did all the measurements he went back to the back and sat down and was doing something. When the lady employee explained the order for me again , I mentioned something was off and I asked if he was alright and if he did them properly. The employee lady said he did them correctly from what she knew , not being and optician. I told her he smelled like smoke and mint alcohol something and she apologized greatly and felt terrible. I can honestly say the young lady employee is the only reason I purchased the glasses this day cause she was friendly and helpful. She also apologized to me and it made me realize that she deserves the praise for the crowfoot location. She handled herself professionally and was very mature and friendly. I know I put her on the spot with all of the questions and the situation but she handled it like a professional employee. She multitasked a few things and made me feel happy about the service and of my purchase,even though some aspects of the experience were questionable . The gentlemen the day before and the young lady employees were great and deserve recognition for the effort and work they provide. I will definitely be back and will tell people about the location and it’s employees but be a little cautious on which optician I receive . Who knows maybe things will change and he will change and maybe not but there’s a time to be professional to the customer clients and what not.

I had a prescription for glasses done from an optometrist in the area. I noticed that Hakim had a designer (Versace) frame that I liked so I had the glasses done there. When they were ready I noticed I had difficulty seeing with them on.Hakim told me that it will take a little while to get used to them. That didn't happen and my eyes hurt, so I returned to my optometrist. He checked my glasses and said that they were not the prescription that he wrote. I was given a note to give Hakim with the errors that needed to be corrected. I returned the glasses and the case to Hakim with the note from the optometrist. Hakim downplayed the situation & never apologized for the error. 2 weeks past and no one called to say the glasses were ready.I had to call them.I picked them up and once again no apology . This salesperson also downplayed the error. What I wanted to hear was that this is a rare occurrence and we sincerely apologize. When he returned the glasses the Versace case was missing. After a week there was no phone call so I called. He said he didn't find it, and to wait till Monday, whereby if not found by then he will give one from the showcase. I went in on Monday and the sales person said that he did not have any message about a glass case and to wait till the manager got back from his break. I left and called the manager 20 minutes later. He also knew nothing about a glass case.. He said he can't help and will leave a message for the Tues manager. So they got the prescription wrong, downplayed their error, no apology, lost the glass case, and poor communication between their staff.I strongly recommend going somewhere else.

Appointment made for 10 am, nobody was there to open the store till 1015, then the optomatrist was another 10 minutes late. Got a new prescription, but nobody was there to help me pick out new frames so I went elsewhere. Ordered new glasses, turns out the Dr incorrectly wrote down my prescription (my axis was off by 90 degrees), so now I have to go get a new prescription do I can order the correct lenses.

I gave them glasses 3.5 weeks ago, they keep saying after I will get it next week. Struggle is still ongoing. Very poor service, they don't follow up themselves ever, even after saying that they will. Moreover, they won't even recognize you and you have remind them who we are, when we ordered glasses, to whom etc etc. Poor client database management, and call reception.

If you are planning to go there, please consider the low rating as well as all the reviews below describing the condescending attitude of staff who are also terribly uninformed. I am regretting now not reading these reviews before going there. In general, Hakim does not care about customers and the quality of service they receive from staff. Staff were terribly uninformed. They gave me wrong information at first causing me inconvenience. Instead of apologizing, they were ridiculing and arrogant. When I complained to higher management, I just got the impression that my customer experience was not of importance to them as long as there wasn't a manufacturing problem with the glasses, and that they are not willing to improve in terms of the condescending attitude of their staff who irresponsibly give wrong information to patients without consideration of the major inconveniences. Here's my experience in details: I have been there to buy glasses (I had prescription from elsewhere). When I picked up my glasses, I tried them on and I was not feeling comfortable wearing the new prescription. The lady told me to give it few days if it did not work, "come back to us and we will remove half degree of a new diagnosis" that was causing the blurry vision. I came back one week later to fix the lenses as my vision was still blurry, and a different lady (the manager of the NW place) informed me rudely that they cannot fix them and I need to adjust the doctor's prescription (which is true but it would have saved me alot of transportation money and time if the first lady was more informed). The manager of the NW did not even apologize for the inconvenience but instead was condescending in talking to me. I then asked her if I can do the eye exam at Hakim, she first told me they do not have an opening for that day, then she changed her mind and said that I cannot do it at Hakim at all because I have to go back to my original doctor (She could have just said the second reason without the first one if it was true). As it sounded unreasonable to me, I asked her what kind of strict regulation that forces patients to go back to their same doctor and suffer with bad prescription for two weeks (it would have taken me 2 weeks to go back to the same doctor). As there is no such a regulation, she started laughing and said there is no regulation but "that's how we do things". After contacting the higher management of Hakim, they informed me that I can repeat the test with a different doctor because any sane human would realize that it is unethical to let the patient suffer with blurry glasses for two weeks just to enforce "the way we do things" that this lady came up with on the spot. If I didn't complain to higher management I would have had to wait two weeks to do the test again suffering with blurry visions for two weeks. Still, I never received any apology from the lady for the bad treatment and misleading information, instead she reported completely inaccurate information about what happened to higher management. In summary, the manager of Hakim NW was very condescending and either completely misinformed about ethics and regulations or just not willing to give me the service because she didn't feel like it. Both cases, the service was very unprofessional and unimpressive.

2018-01-08 The experience was amazing and the receptionist was friendly. I went there to get a new pair of frames because my previous pair of frames broke. However, instead of encouraging me to buy a new frame, she said that she might be able to fix it. Sure enough, she was able to fix my old frame and it was free of charge. I would definitely recommend this shop.

Way OVERPRICED! Basic hakim frames are more expensive than Rx Oakley frames.....Not worth the drive. They try and make it seem like you are getting a deal at 60% off when the final price still costs more than well known frames else where.

Very happy with the service I received. New manager and staff was knowledgeable, very helpful, and a lot of fun. Sure, it kind of looks like someone tossed all the glasses in all the world at the displays but they have a great selection and really good prices and they help find just the right pair of glasses. I got my glasses quickly, no fuss, and the prescription was correct. I'm happy to be able to see again. I need a pair or computer glasses as well and will definitely be going back to this location to get them.

my exp. was horrid. Chantell the manager was extremely crass to me. she made me feel afraid to return to get my lens fixed within the warranty period due to the poor lens coating for my zeiss lens I bought there ! Really the coatings for the lens do not stand up to their high proclaim ! And the lens case ruined my 2ndary frame I purchased thru chantell. Avoid this place and go elsewhere !

Hakim optical crowfoot calgary was the worst agency for getting glasses. I ordered two pairs of progressive lenses and the prescription was wrong. I returned and had them re done. They were wrong again when I got them back a second time. I felt sick from having the wrong prescription and went back to the optometrist who ran the glasses through their machine. It was not the prescription that I gave them. I returned them a second time. The third time they broke one frame. They promised me a new pair of free glasses. Then they conveniently lost my information and refused to give me the second pair of glasses. I will never shop here again.

If I could give zero stars I would. I arrived on time for an appointment that was scheduled for 11:40am, only to be told that "the doctor had left" because I was "late". I was told my appointment time was 11:40am and this was also the time written on my appointment card, yet I was apparently scheduled for 10:40am. I understand that mistakes happen, but to also tell me that "the doctor called and left [me] a message", when no such call or message were made or left, was extremely frustrating. I will not be returning to this store.
