Bought a pair of glasses from here, the frames broke after 2 weeks of light use. They offered a free replacement pair that also broke, this time after only one week. Several months later, they called asking to be paid for the "free" replacement pair. Absolutely unacceptable.

Phenomenal customer service! My daughter's glasses broke, and the Hakim in Saskatoon (where we're located) had shut down, so Joed at the MacLeod location went above and beyond to honor the replacement policy. Genuine, personal service to make sure my daughter didn't have to walk around with tape on her glasses for too long! We live in Saskatoon, but I will likely be going out of my way to get all of my glasses from this Hakim location in the future. I appreciate and value customer service, which is what I know I'll get at this location.

The level of professionalism and quality of customer service will definitely require some upgrading and/or re-training on the part of one of their optometrist. She was very harsh in her mannerism, from her tone of voice to the word-choices she used while examining my eyes. It was my first time trying out Hakim in Calgary as my past experience with Hakim in Toronto was fantastic. But I definitely won’t recommend this particular woman to ever do an eye exam on anyone as my experience with her was absolutely atrocious and demeaning throughout the process. Hope she learns to be more humble, kind and authentic as people pay good money for a quality, customer-friendly eye exam. Peace out.

My mother needed her glasses repaired. My friend recommended Hakim Optical so I went to the Chinook location. Sukhpaul was so friendly since the moment I walked in the store and fixed them in under 1 hour!! am very happy with the service he offered me and I Would 100% recommend them.

Stopped by to look for new glasses for my mom during their grand opening. We were browsing for around 10 minutes and no one came to help us or bothered to offer us their $50 gift card promotion because of their opening. As soon as we asked for help, the lady we spoked with seemed nice, but needed help from her manager for a prescription change. As soon as the manager stepped in, he was very rude in helping us with our questions and was very dismissive. Right after "helping" us he went right up to two new customers that walked in and offered them the $50 gift cards, knowing we did not get them while we were there. We ended up just walking out and got the new glasses elsewhere.

Everyone was a great help. Dr. Singh explains things thoroughly and in an easy to understand manner. Very patient, thank goodness, because who doesn't flinch when they blow air in your eye? The selection of frames was amazing, so many styles and colors. Great selections for summer! I was recommended by a friend and I would recommend this location to everyone!

I was in your shop today to have my glasses fixed. Of course I wore a mask! However ....none of the clerks were wearing masks. I was VERY uncomfortable to say the least! Social distancing was not possible as the clerk had to manually adjust my glasses. I wish I had spoken up but I was totally taken by surprise! I could kick myself for going into your store but as I said I needed my glasses fixed!

I have recently picked up my glasses from this location and I must say up until this moment my experience was terrific. The lady who helped me was my nightmare come to life. She ended up not adjusting my new glasses so I could see out of them. She went behind the glass and complained about me to a coworker ( if you do this, don't talk in such a loud voice that can be heard from the floor). So now I have a new pair of glasses that I can not use. Thank you Hakim

Yesterday I went to Hakim in Chinook and picked up two frames that I liked to have them done with my prescription, one for distance and one for sunglasses. The young fella gave me a quote and I wanted to proceed with the purchase however he tells me that he can't do my measures because they are busy in the office. He then suggested to go in the mall for half an hour and shop more and return when whoever was in the office is no longer busy. Half an hour later I return but he tells me the same story. I walk around the store and approach the office to hear load voices, laughing as if whoever was inside was having a really good time. Thinking that maybe they know each other and are about to finish the meeting I stay around for 10-15 min more only to continue to hear the same thing every time I approached the office door. At this point I turn around and told the guy that they are not busy with any appointment but simply having fun when customers like me are waiting for a purchase. He didn't even denied. I left without purchasing anything and regretting I didn't knock on the office door to give them a piece of my mind. However, here is the reason for a bad review. They obviously don't need customers nor good reviews.

I actually use to go to the Shawnessy location previously, but after she left the level of service significantly subsided. Exceptional service! My boyfriend went to get an eye exam for the first time in about a decade. They were able to see us right away and Dr. Flack was incredible! She did a number of tests to check both his vision and eye health, showed us the charts and explained everything - which I've never had done at any of my optometrists - and was super enthusiastic the whole time. You can tell she loves her work. We weren't able to get glasses on time, but she provided his prescription so that we could go elsewhere. There was never any attempt to upsell or pressure. I can't say enough about this place and would be coming back if I hadn't gotten Lasik! I don't understand all the bad reviews - maybe this place has gone through a management change lately, but I highly recommend it.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! UNETHICAL CROOKS!! I recently purchased a pair of prescription sun glasses and regular glasses through these guys after the long process they showed me the invoice which was crazy high. It wasn't very clear as to what each item cost, after questioning the invoice they told me it was a wicked deal as it was black Friday and everything was correct! 1 week later they called me to pick up the glasses so I drive across the city to pick them up and they said they weren't ready! I was very frustrated so as I walked around the mall burring time I found the same sun glasses that they were charging $200 for, I found for $79.00!!! I showed this to management and they said there was nothing they could do so I asked for a refund. They issued me the refund and after doing the math I told them they owed me more. They got very defensive and after arguing they double checked their math to find out I was right. A couple days later I was sitting in my office and noticed their business card said price match guaranteed! I was furious! I was also questioning their refund amount so I broke out the crazy confusing invoices to also find out they owed me more money than they refunded me!!! I called their head office and explained the story, they told me they would look into it. Few days later the head office called me back and apologized that they didn't do the price match and that indeed they OWED ME MORE MONEY! I don't want to bash Hakim as an entire company but the Chinook mall store is one to stay far, far, far away from they have ZERO ETHICS!! HORRIFIC EXPERIENCE

It’s been more than two months and I still haven’t received my glasses. They broke the frames while refocusing the lenses and now they have to ship new ones from Ontario, couldn’t give me a timeline as to when they would arrive. Terrible experience overall

Definitely a 5 star experience. I shopped around when it became clear I needed glasses, and from the first time I went into the Hakim Chinook location, I was hooked. The doctors are about eye health, not selling glasses, and the staff is all about the customer experience. They aren't perfect, no one is, but any issues I had were fixed without delay or argument, and they went above and beyond to make it right. Whenever I, or someone I know, needs glasses, I take them to see Beau at Hakim in Chinook, I recommend you do as well.

Buying glasses for a five year old with a strong prescription is hard. It is also quite expensive so you need to do it right. I brought my boy to get a new pair and they were wonderfully helpful and enthusiastic while doing it which helps to keep a child engaged in something that neither of us actually wanna do but we have to. The glasses we picked were comfortable and classy and I am super happy we went there.

The service that was provided by the employee Becca and the optician were unprofessional and their attitudes were quite poor. They were both very rude and unwilling to listen to the concerns that my wife voiced, not once but 3 different times, their unprofessional natural further declined when my wife and I could hear them talking about my wife in the back room when Becca went to get the optician. They made my wife feel very uncomfortable and like we were more of an inconvenience. My wife left with the glasses still not fitting correctly and had to go elsewhere to have that rectified. We spent alot of money there and were feeling confident up until our encounter with Becca and the optician upon pick up of my wife's glasses. Would have given 5 stars based on the help and guidance from Jocelyn and Dr. Flack alone, they were amazing. However the 2 employees that we dealt with on our last interaction(Becca and the optician) make me reluctant to come their again.

Jocelyn was a fantastic help today. Was incredible patient with me because I'm incredibly picky about how I'll be looking in my first pair of glasses. There was absolutely no pressure from her to buy anything and she was honest in telling me what did and did not compliment my features, which I truly appreciated. I have been to this location about five times now. The older gentleman with the black hair never seems to know what he's doing. I booked a follow-up eye doctor appointment with him three weeks in advance. When I got there no appointment had been booked. He seemed very confused and barely knew how to put my name into the computer. Luckily, they were able to squeeze me in for my appointment before a family of four showed up. Please please please give this man the training he needs to do his job properly!!

Very rude eye doctor!! I had inflammation in my left eye and it was quite painful so I combined my breaks at work and went to My doctors office which is across the street. Unfortunately it was closed so I stopped by hakim optical and asked the receptionist if I could see the eye doctor she said she was with a client and was fully booked but she could possibly take a quick look. I waited 20 minutes and when the doctor came out from the back she rudely asked who is this. The receptionist very nicely said my eye was really red and sore and was hoping you could have a look. She replied I don't have time for this and walked away. I completely understand that she was busy and I would not be upset at all from her not having time do an eye exam but the decent thing to do would have been to tell me herself and give me some direction on where to go. She could have at least talk to me like I'm a human being and not an inconvenience. She didn't need to be so rude! I was just looking for help. I then went to LensCrafters in Chinook mall and they took me in right away and were very friendly.

Posting on my grandmas behalf: I took my grandma in to look at glasses. The staff were very welcoming, offered help right away, and we’re not looking to up sell as my grandma was just getting quotes. The frames she picked out we did put on hold and ended up coming back to get them. When we picked up the glasses she was very happy with the frame and quality of the glasses she chose. My grandma will definitely be back!!
