Positive first experience, not so much on my return. Very rude blonde older woman at the desk when picking up my lenses. Charging customers for one section of their own prescription information is a sure way to get me to visit your competitors.

It was extremely slow. 19 days to get glasses. It's pretty good for selection, but service was main issue. I expect more in an age of computers and courier service. The fit is good, lens quality is fair, warranty looks good. I know better eye glass shops.

Update: Received a phone call today from Consumer's Optical... They were very apologetic, and are going to be talking, and working with the staff on being more attentive to their customers, and working with them on not making assumptions about people based on their personal presentation. This is encouraging news, and I am hopeful that changes will be made. Thank you for taking the time to contact me to rectify this situation. So disappointed!!! I purchased my very first set of frames here. I just received my new prescription yesterday and I was excited to see what you had in store. Instead I was treated like I wasn't "good" enough for your staff, or to purchase anything in your store. The vibe was cold and stuck up!!! The one male staff member present cut me off; wouldn't listen to what I had to say, and talked over me, because he didn't care to hear what I had to say... Very unpleasant and unprofessional!!!! I definitely won't recommend your store again!!! Unfortunate!!! If you are just an average Mom don't waste your time here... Because if you don't "look" the part they are not interested.

When I lived in Red Deer this was the only place I would buy my glasses and sunglasses. The staff was always great and helpful and they were always stocked with lots of high end products. The store always looked really nice. I was always pleased to spend my money here. BUT I stopped in there this weekend and it looks quite different. Im not sure if they are going for a different market now but it looks as if they are going in a 'discount store' direction. There are lots of cheap looking homemade signs everywhere, the chairs are dirty, stained and crooked, lots of no-name brand glasses. They had a nice niche cut out but now they are looking like any other eye glass store. They still have a huge selection of really nice stuff and the staff was friendly, just didnt have the same feel.

My friend was buying new eyeglasses & I tagged along. He was adamant he wanted a smaller pair. Talked to the salesperson and they suggested a large pair. Sigh. They should realize not everyone wants to look like a hipster. Ended up going elsewhere.

Very professional friendly service. I had been to another similar business prior to coming, and waited for 30 minutes while I browsed at frames and not one person spoke to me. So I left and came here and had my examination, frames picked out, ordered and paid for within 45 minutes. All of the staff were amazing and very helpful!!

If I could give a higher rating I would. At around 3:30pm today (April 3) a gentleman helped me by fixing my glasses. The arm broke off, I was fearing for the worse case scenario (having to send them out or buy a new pair). Thankfully he was able to glue the arm back together and tighten the screws. I am so grateful for the wonderful service I received.

Absolutely awful service. been waiting 3 months for my frames still haven't arrived. Been lied to multiple times of when they were supposed to arrive. First it was 2 weeks, then it was 2 months. Now it was supposed to be last week. And now theyre saying next week.

I absolutely love the staff at Consumers Optical. I always have a hard time finding a frame that suits my face, and while I was there I found the perfect frame in 2 different sizes and colours. We ended up ordering the smaller frame in the colour that I loved; most competitors won’t do that for you! I will definitely be shopping there again when it’s time for a new frame.

Great service, products and warranty! I came here from the competitors and was welcomed as soon as i came into the buisness. The staff went through all the options of glasses, lens options and reccomemened good choices. I got my first pair of perscription sunglasses done and i couldnt beleive how clear the vision is. It was hard in the past to get a pair because of my high persciption but nothing they couldnt handle. If you want a buisness thats honest and puts your best intrests at heart then i highly reccomend them

Okay here's the story, my son broke my pair of Oakley's of 5 years, great durable glasses, anyways I went to lens crafters with the lens which were still in perfect shape and the guy there told me that model was done and no longer available so I bought new glasses and lens for just shy of 500 bucks, while waiting for my glasses I popped in here and talked to a taller young girl with blonde hair who immediately jumped on a computer to see if she could get them, she ended up being able to order them. Moral of the story is if I would of went to consumer optical first I would of saved money and been able to get the glasses I loved back, the girl was very professional and me and my wife and kids will now visit consumer optical as our first choice eye care center because of that great service.

Was not impressed with the male optometrist. It felt like he was just doing my appointment as fast as he could so that he could move to the next customer. He gave me the impression that he doesnt care very much about his clients.At the end of my visit he was supposed to give me a contact lens case and solution. I stood there waiting while he chatted with his receptionist, he then looked at me and basically dismissed me. I was very disappointed with the service. Its sad to see a buisness like this operating if this is how they treat their customers.

I have always found this to be a reasonably priced and low-pressure place to buy glasses. I had a great experience last week after accidentally wrecking my frames. The salesperson went above and beyond to call the manufacturer when the system was showing out of stock. She was able to order in the right frames and they arrived in a single business day. I had to wait less than five minutes for the technician to do the replacement. Best part was they were still on warranty - 100% free. Great service. Highly recommended.

Overall, I was pleased with my purchase but disappointed with the case I was given. It was a kids Roots case...I have 3 small grandchildren who all have the same case. I did ask for something more appropriate for a senior but was shrugged off by the girl helping me. I will say that the young guy who works there was very helpful. In answer to your reply, it was not that I didn't like the case,, it was because I was given a case to small for the glasses to fit into. Adult glasses do not fit into kids cases. I have already bought a new case from a different location.

I had quite possibly the worst experience buying glassses here and will never return. After being told the problem was that my eyes weren't adjusting to the glasses multiple times and them sending me back to my eye doctor to redo a prescription, an additional eye clinic told me the problem was that they put too large of lenses in my frame and they were stressed, so after being told for three months it was my fault that my glasses weren't working I finally went back with proof and only then did they offer to redo the lenses, once again they did not work. So rather than fully refunding me I still had to pay to restock them. The service was pathetic and I would NEVER reccomned this place to anyone else. If 0 stars was an option this is what they would be receiving.

I stopped by this store to get my nose pads changed, since they were starting to fall off. The gentleman who served me (and I really wish I could remember his name) was so friendly and helpful. He was gone for a while changing them, but when he came back he told me that he had straightened my glasses right away, as they had been bent. I was blown away by the friendliness and amazing customer service for a non-paying customer. I had previously been to Lenscrafters and received very poor service, so I had not been expecting this. I will definitely be returning to this store.

My son got a crack in one of the lenses in his glasses. We went into the store and we were greeted by Nicholas. We told him what had happened, and he took my son's glasses and said he would take care of it, and told us to come back in 45 minutes. Exactly 45 mins later we got a phone call from Nicholas saying the glasses were repaired and we could come in any time and pick them up. Fast and professional service !! We are very happy! Great Job!

Worst set of glasses I have ever owned, after 2 trips in and multiple people adjusting and bending the frames, the right lens now falls out. What appeared to be the boss would not address that, all he could recommend was "try them for a couple more weeks to see if you adjust" how am I suposed to adjust to looking out one eye while I look for the other lens in the snow???? Loved the girls that tried to help but it seems their hands are tied. Never again would I buy here. Appx $800 wasted

The people here were very manipulative. The sales employee told us that this month's deal (July) was get 2 glasses for the price of one for ANY of the glasses in their store. He also mentioned that next month's deal (August) was not as good and told us exactly that it was "buy 2 glasses and get $100 off." Obviously, we thought July's deal was much better and went to buy our glasses. After spending around 30 minutes choosing the glasses we wanted and right as we're about to pay, they tell us that it's only for selected glasses. These people had lied about their July deal. The "selected glasses" had few variety so we ended up just buying our expensive glasses without going with the deal. Then the month after (August) we see that their month's deal is get 2 glasses for the price of one (just like July) AS WELL AS $100 off. So this sales employee had also lied to us about August's deal...

I come all the way from Calgary to get my glasses here because the selection and prices are so great! I needed glasses for the first time and was not really sure how to go about getting them. I came to Consumer's Optical and the staff were really friendly and walked me around the store and helped me try on different pairs and were very honest about if they looked good or not they then sat me down and went over all my options with the lenses that I had no idea about and guided me towards the best options for what I needed and then I was even able to get them within an hour which I didn't even realize was possible! I would highly recommend this place to everyone needing glasses!

I went in there after breaking my lens, they fixed it at no charge within 15 mins. Definitely going back there for new glasses, and bringing my daughter in too for her exam. New favorite place! The ladies were friendly, and VERRRRY helpful.

I went in looking for a pair of glasses today. I was approached by a man told me the COVID rules, I said to him alright well I’m looking for a pair of glasses that look similar to the pair I had on. His response was good luck and walked away! Nobody else offered to help, even though there was two women at the desk talking about an awe full infection she had. My glasses usually cost a good chunk of money as my prescription is horrible. I would have bought the outrageous priced glasses I eventually found on my own if I had someone there trying to be a salesperson making me feel like I deserved to be there. Go to LensCrafters they have much better costumer service.

Recently I had to admit that I needed glasses, badly! We went to see Kayleigh at the Bower Mall location. Not only did she help me with my glasses she got me in for an eye exam without an appointment. We had driven down from Edmonton just to see Kayleigh and she exceeded all of my expectations and was able to deal with me dealing with getting into glasses that I would wear as often as I am supposed to. She took all the time that I needed to find a pair that I felt comfortable in and that, I feel, look great on. I appreciated the time that she took to explain my prescription; where it is currently, where it is going in the future based on my family history, work that I do and the level of reading that I do in my leisure time. She also took the time to hear what my concerns were, including cost and was able to fit me into something that worked with my budget and still looked great. I can't thank her enough and strongly recommend Consumer's Optical as the premier place in Red Deer. The store is beautifully set up and with the staff they employ, it is a very positive experience. Thank you Kayleigh, we will be back!!

Wasnt happy at all was told $370 for just lenses, felt it was more about the $ , and not the customer, so I left and went to Hakim optical, got my prescription glasses & safety glasses complete sets for both pair was less than for lenses here, I would not go here unless you want to get taken advantage of ????

I stopped to get information regarding an eye exam and contacts, and I never had such poor customer service. The older blonde lady at the desk was very rude. I am not sure how they attract new patients, I waited for almost 5min for help, when I could here and see people chatting personally near by.
