Called the York Mills Eye Clinic to inquire whether I can my pupillary distance (PD) measured. The response was that PD measurement is offered ONLY with the purchase of eyeglasses (considered a dispensary tool) and not as a standalone service. Although I understand the business reasons behind this decision, in my opinion, this is expected only by a one star MEDICAL service provider. For context, in British Columbia, it is regulated that a patient's PD be included in the prescription.

Dr. Chung has been my optometrist from a very young age. I can always count on her to be thorough and my whole family takes her expert opinion to heart. She answers any questions I have and invests her time and effort in preventative care for her patients. Parking is accessible at the Clinic and it's accessible by transit as well.

As a patient that’s been coming here for more than 10 years, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. I’ve always felt very comfortable with the care I’ve received at this practice, and Dr. Tsui and Dr. Buie have always been incredibly helpful and informative.

I had my eye exam done here. They told me to do additional testing for $130 which I refused and I'll speak to family doctor first to see if it was necessary. I get an email with an appointment for the additional exam with a notice of $100 for cancellation if I do not cancel in time. My emails to them to cancel my appointment was ignored and needed to resolve over the phone.

Great for eye exams, but never get prescription lens here. They said one week and it's been almost three. The "$100" discount for patients is simply an overinflation.

Wonderful experience at this office today. From the moment I walked in for my appointment everyone was kind and helpful. The doctor was very thorough and put me at ease. I am also impressed with how well the office has adapted to the current pandemic - every staff member was conscientious of cleanliness and did a fantastic job. What a great office! I had some thing in my eye today and my wife suggested I go to my eye clinic. I was thinking to go to my family doctor. So glad I came here. The staff took me in right away Flushed my eye. Then I waited a little. Doctor Amanda Sim looked after me. She was so gentle and explained what the problem was with my eye. The staff and Amanda were amazing thx again

I was a bit nervous going for my regular eye exam during COVID, but York Mills Eye Clinic did a great job in sanitizing and keeping numbers low. They have a limit of 5 people in the waiting room and sanitize socially-distanced chairs and glasses that people have tried on. Dr. Sim was punctual, and saw me at my exact appointment time. She was very thorough during the exam and explained each step. She also showed me some vision therapy techniques to combat how strained my eyes feel when I focus too often. Instead of pushing me to purchase blue light lenses, she even suggested a free app for my computer (Flux). I (along with Dr. Sim) wore masks during the exam, although she and the optician (Melanie?) lent me an empty office to try on glasses with my mask off which I appreciated. Overall, York Mills Eye Clinic did a great job in adjusting to these weird times and put me to ease with their professionalism and sanitation during my entire visit.

Been going here for years and I always had great appointments. Never been disappointed with their service and the staff members are friendly. I personally, see Nancy Chung and she is an amazing doctor who cares about her patients health and checks in briefly with personal life to make sure the patient is doing well overall.

I had a very good experience with Dr. Nancy Chung. Eye examination's costs at this location are very reasonable and easy free parking at the back of the building. I strongly suggest this location to everyone!!!

After waiting for 5 months without a call back from the specialist they were supposed to send me to, I call up their office and ask for the name of the Dr. whom they claimed to have sent my referral to. Turns out, DR Sundarum or whatever her name is, DOESN'T ACCEPT REFFERALS FROM OPTOMETRISTS ??? I ask you, has anyone ever referred you to a specialist who doesn't even deal with them to begin with ? Very bizarre and unacceptable. So in other words, either the office lied about having sent me there to cover their tracks, or Dr Sundarum didn't want to see me, and told her secretary to make up a tale about not accepting patients from optometrists. Mind you, supposedly they send people there quite often ? How does this make any sense ? So it is clear that someone is spinning a yarn here, but what I did not appreciate is the almost 300 dollar price tag for the referral/consultation, and incompetence on Dr Amanda Sim's part. When I pay money, I expect a service in return. My vision has gotten even worse since. The new "specialist" she actually referred me to, sent me home with an eye infection that he misdiagnosed as "irritation due to stress". I had to pay yet another optometrist to properly diagnose my infection after the incompetent buffoon Dr Micieli told me to go put artificial tears on my worsening bacterial conjunctivitis. Dr Rita Chee whom I also saw at this clinic before never messed up any referrals. I can't blame Dr Sim's incompetence on her, however, I will never return to this clinic and I suggest you avoid them as well, as will my family who also used to go to this clinic.

My son and I started seeing Dr. Buie years ago, and much of my extended family has now migrated to her care as well. Her approach to patients of all ages is warm and caring, she is deeply knowledgeable and very thorough in her examinations. She is always clear about when tests, treatments or purchases are necessary, recommended, or not really useful for us. The office staff is friendly and helpful. The on-site optician is wonderful too - helpful, knowledgeable and solution-oriented, and very good at helping us finding the right frames for our personalities and faces.

Very professional and friendly staff. I have been going to Dr. Chung for years and have never had a bad experience. They also have a wide selection of frames for glasses which makes it easy to get tested and update my prescription all at once. Other than that, they have accessible parking, reasonable hours and Wifi.

Upon figuring out that I needed eye care I wasn’t sure what to think nor was I wanting to need to do all of the necessary things to get my eyes looked after. Well once I arrived at the office I was greeted with the way you would hope when arriving at a place of business but that’s not why I am writing this review. The office was clean and organized but it was the service of the eye doctor that made the experience great! Dr Amanada Sim was meticulous with everything that she did so that my eyes get the help they need. She is caring, compassionate and communicates well but being clear what she is doing and what she wanted me to do so that she can properly diagnose what is required for me. I would highly recommend anyone and everyone that needs an eye doctor to contact this office. You won’t be disappointed!

Sal is The Man....walked in, no appointment , broken glasses in hand someone stepped on them, frame all bent outta shape, lense popped out. Sal took them went into his "room" and Voila...fixed, I couldn't believe it. I was prepared for the "they're beyond repair" comment but no...fixed, no appointment required and no charge. My optometrist Nancy Chung is outstanding. I have a tricky Rx since eye surgery resulted in double vision. After many years and more than a few optometrists I was referred to this clinic by a friend who used to work in the clinic. Ms. Chung solved my problem with prisms – and after she did, I know why the others failed, and Ms. Chung did not. It took a long time to solve for the prisms that I needed. It’s only through trial and error, with patience and skill – and Ms. Chung has a lot of that. She is skilled and cares.

Dr. Sim is such a lovely, kind, insightful, and a exceptional optometrist. She has the patience to explain eye conditions and the treatment plan in layman terms so that I can understand. She always gives you her honest opinion when choosing glasses in their clinic, which I may say she has a great sense of style for eye wear. She is also very clean, ensuring that all equipment she uses are sanitized between patients. She is also very thorough in explaining all the tests she does for your eye so that you don't get any surprises to your sensitive eyes. I was so happy with my first visit, I recommended it to all my neighbours and friends and they have also reported back to me all great things. I'm so happy that I receive such wonderful service and attention to details each time I go see Dr. Sim.
