I have been a customer here all my life, never had a bad experience in over 15 years. Great front desk service and wonderful optometrists. I highly recommend this place

Horrible service from the front desk. Specifically "Jocelyn". I told her in a confused tone that I was not ok with paying a fee she claimed I had to pay. The fee did not make sense to me and instead of talking to me like an adult....she instead chose to say "you know what, that's fine.." then she hung up on me...I could not believe she hung up on me. I am appalled to say the least and will not be going back there. I am going to a new eye doctor because of her actions. I suggest she take a customer service course. Or simply retire already.

I've been seeing Joceline since she 1st opened. She is very knowledgeable. She knows how to help. If she isn't sure, she will figure it out. I trust her judgement as well. She has a good eye for what type of glasses would look best or suits you best. She usually shows me something I never would have considered if it weren't for her showing me my options! I've never had any issues with my optical care or choices in frames until I decided to go to a different place. I quickly went back to South Winnipeg Eye Centre. I just knew and trusted that whatever issues or problems I was facing now, she could fix. I had no doubt in my mind that I would be tended to by someone that actually knows what they are talking about. I've noticed a change in staff for the front desk. Which means new people learning what to do. Which would explain why some people may have had bad experiences. Her business has grown so much that she was able to open up another store in another location. She is also a very sought after person. We all want that one on one attention we grew accustomed to. However, I understand that she is just like everyone else. Trying her best to balance her time and energy. She will have her good days and she will have her bad days. It isn't neccesarily about you if she doesn't sound like her usual happy, helpful self. Remind yourself that this is her own business. She isnt working for anyone above her. She is the boss. Which means long hours of dealing with some difficult people or with just many people depending on the time of day. Long hours of paperwork during work hours and maybe even after hours. Then when she goes home. She still has her own family waiting for her for some attention. Visit her and her staff or book an appointment at either store locations yourself to have your own experience. Everyone can have a different view of the same experience because of that person's own opinions, judgements or type of day that they, themselves were having.

They will simply not provide you with your PD which is a vital part of your prescription. This is necessary for purchasing glasses online, which obviously they do not want you to be able to do. Absolutely a rotten way to treat customers that are paying for eye exams. My mother was told that it is "illegal to give out that information." Avoid these lying liars at all costs.

Highly recommended! The only place my family always go to. We've been a customer here since 2009 and never had any issues. Joceline is the best! She is very helpful, attentive to details and very accommodating/approachable. She gives her full attention on what we are looking for and making sure that we are taken care of. The staff is very helpful too. I always recommend South Eye Winnipeg to my co-worker's and friends

DO NOT go here if you want to be treated with equality and respect. The lady who runs the front desk is very rude & unprofessional. Now they treat you as a second class citizen if you're not vaccinated. They give you secondary class service and make you take appointments at the last time slot or first, zero accommodations. Do yourself a favor and never go here, waste of time.

I cannot recommend South Winnipeg Eye Centre enough! last Friday my four year old and I went and got our eyes tested, they were so amazing with my little girl! I wanted these certain kind of Sunglasses I saw on the internet and the owner said she could absolutely order them in for me! I went in Saturday morning and ordered them and I got a message Wednesday that they were in! Profession, Kind, can get you anything you want and fast! Support Local!

Have been going here for years and recently had incredibly poor service. Staff, Joceline especially, are only nice to you when they think you may purchase something. If going in for repairs or adjustments, they are rude and accusatory. Used to be my favourite place to get glasses and highly recommended them... Not anymore!!! Zero service after you have paid.

I called and on a Saturday I came in during Covid-19, mask and all, asking if they could help me. While my 92 year old dad is under lockdown at a PCH, all I had in my hands were a pair of broken frames and lenses. I felt bad for my dad who couldn't see his books to read. All through this in 20 minutes I walked out of the store with a brand new pair of frames and the lenses fit perfectly. The assistance and professionalism of the staff was awesome. My dad now is happy and can read his books. Thank you so much for the stress free and helpful staff. :) Gina B

Zero customer service skills from the front desk, rude and short with customers. The optometrist was very nice and will be willing to see her at a different location but won't be returning to the one on Dakota. I'm looking at the reviews now and I am not surprised and probably should have read the reviews before making any appointment It was just convenience, close to home sort of thing.

Have been going here for years and I am super disappointed with the service I received recently. The owner used to be super patient and attentive, and now is the complete opposite. I believe it is because of employee turnover so she is now stressed. It seems that the people working the front desk are always confused and Joceline has to take over because they aren't capable. It is definitely time for me to move on to a different place for glasses and contacts. The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of one is because of Dr. Tangri. She is a lovely optometrist.

We have been going here for about 20 years. Always had the best experience and Jocelyn and staff have been amazing whether we were purchasing glasses or going in for repairs. When my husband had his stroke Jocelyn personally went to Riverview to check on his eyes and make adjustments to his glasses. I don't know anyone else who would have done that for him. We have recommended them to several of our friends and they have never had a complaint.

I went online looking for a local optometrist, and this was one of the sites that came up. To be honest, I was a little leery of going to them because they seem to have a lot of negative reviews, specifically often naming one individual. I was "in the neighbourhood" to stop at the store, so stopped by to make an appointment, which was made in a couple days, unlike 2 other places I'd tried. Went to the appointment, the front desk staff was courteous and professions, Cayle (I think the optometrist was named) was friendly, professional and very easy to talk to. I was in and out AT MY APPOINTMENT TIME (something else many places aren't capable of doing), talked to the woman at the front desk, picked out some glasses, and was done. They told me it'd be about a week for the glasses - they called me in two days. There was only one pair when I went there instead of two, because I likely didn't clearly state I wanted two pair. The billing process was clearly for 1 set at the time - which I could have rectified had I been paying attention. I picked up the glasses, ordered the other pair, paid for them, and those too came in earlier than the estimated time. Now, when I go to a business and pay for goods or services, that's all I expect. People to be competent and professional, for me to get what I paid for, and I leave. That is a standard transaction that rates a 3. That's all I look for. A 3. This experience was a little better than that, a little more pleasant and I got my glasses early, which is possible due more to the lens supplier than them, but still, they get the benefit of the doubt. That's why I gave them a 4. They're a little better than a 4, but I'll raise it based on future dealings. I know the place has a less than 3 rating, but it was worth it for me to go there, plus the lens cleaning spray they gave me has lifetime free refills. :) I would recommend them to others, which I'm doing. They have a pretty huge selection of frames too.

No mask is good enough. Visited business previously with cloth mask and told it was insufficient, and then asked about my vaccination status. Also told I would have to leave if others came in, which never was enforced. Employee was a foot away from me when saying all of this too... She suggested a mask like N95, which I wore the next visit. Again, was told it was insufficient because it has a filter, and that a doctors office wouldn't let me in with the N95 mask??? If customers are all questioned about their masks, maybe lock the door and put a sign telling people to call upon arrival and either supply masks or have a photo of the mask you want customers to wear. I know someone who went here recently with the same N95 mask and nothing was said to them? Will take my money elsewhere in the future.

I ordered glasses from here and honestly if I could give more than 5 stars I would. The staff up front were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They explained the different types of lenses they had. I forget what I went with but I’ve never had such clear and crisp lenses. I’m so happy with this purchase and look forward to coming back to get another pair.

Recently I brought in my dear elderly Aunt for adjustments to her new glasses. I live out of province. Joceline and Karolina looked after Auntie's glasses with the utmost professionalism, efficiency and kindness.
