I had to wait hours and hours to get to the dr. When reached her she just looked at the report and just said two things - control your blood sugar, take appointment in 6 months. No other advise or any update on my health. I wondered why I went to her????????

This doctor was extremely impatient and nasty. Paid $180, had appointment but still waited more than 2 hours. She only checked my left eye. After I asked her if my both eyes were good, she pressed my lower eyelid with a cotton swab very rudely. Avoid her if you can.

Wasn’t even let into the office until 30 minutes after my appointment time. No one communicated with me what was going to be done at any point. The nurses were extremely unfriendly and felt like the mean girls in high school. At one point I sat in an exam room, two nurses poked their heads in at the same time and looked at me and then giggled and walked away. I don’t think anyone so much as smiled at me the entire time I was there. When the doctor finally came in she was impatient, and seemed like she have time to waste on me. She cranked my head back with her hand so hard it hurt my neck, told me she saw nothing and told me to book a follow up with no further explanation. I don’t think I’ve ever been in a more unprofessional, uncomfortable doctors office.

Do not go to this Doctor, she does not do her job properly. My mom went to her regarding a double vision in one eye, she prescribed her drops and she went for a second opinion, she has brain cancer, which caused the double vision...had she sent my mother for a ct it would have been caught earlier. Instead my mom was waiting for an appointment for an optomologist surgeon in Toronto. If you go to this doctor, I suggest you get a second opinion.

I received 3 different communications with office staff from Dr. Yoganathan office with different dates and times for an appointment with my daughter. The first date and time I marked down and my husband took time off work to watch our other children. No one wants to take accountability for what goes on in this office. I do not recommend you even attempt a visit, just find another doctor who has efficient staff and are polite. The staff at this office cut you off, talk over you and are obnoxious!

Dr. Yoganathan, is excellent and with a great human spirit and a lot of capacity for her work, the operation she did on my husband was a success, I recommend her, without any fear

I was blessed to be seen on a Friday afternoon as an emergency patient. I was treated by Dr. Yoganathan. I found her to be professional, thorough and compassionate in her treatment of me. I waited quite awhile to be seen, but knew based on my prior exposure to Dr. Tayfour, that I was exactly where I needed to be at. I heard alot of complaining about the wait for care, but I would happy to wait to have the best service in the city. Thanks to all the staff who are on the front lines. keeping the office running efficiently, and being patient with everyone during these tough times.

My elderly parent waited hours for just a routine treatment. When we inquired about the situation the dr was very rude and nasty! She needs some lessons on compassion. Her arrogance will shorten her career! DO NOT GO TO THIS dr!!!!!

Dr Yoganathan is a very caring and brilliant doctor/ surgeon…I needed macular hole surgery and was scared to death about it but despite how busy she was she took time to answer all my questions and the surgery went very well. I’m thankful for being referred to her! I’d also like to mention Berlitza Alvis the director & surgery scheduler who even answered my emails on a weekend! What an amazing team

I have been seeing Dr. Yoganathan for 3 and a half years; almost as long as she has been in Windsor! My patient file is about two inches thick and serves as a testament to the incredible amount of time, patience and compassion that she has afforded me in some of the scariest and most anxious periods of my life. She is an absolute Rockstar surgeon, ophthalmologist and patient advocate; Windsor is so incredibly lucky to have her. She has met me in the office for emergency injections and testing on weekends and holidays, gave me encouragement when I needed it, and eased my anxiety when she could tell that it was getting too much. You will NOT find a more competent, caring and absolute star surgeon. I have been encouraged to be involved in my own care, to ask questions and to learn what my scans mean about my eye health. Anyone who finds themselves in a position of potentially losing their eyesight knows that knowledge is invaluable. As patients we do not have much control over what our eyes will do, but being able to understand what is happening will give you some control back. I have been battling with eye trouble for 15 years, and these last 3 years have been the first time that I can actually say I feel like I have at least some control over my treatment. When my family shows concern for my eyes I always tell them not to worry, because I have the dream team. Dr. Yoganathan’s entire staff has touched my life in one way or another, and only for the better. Each and every one of them are dedicated to their job. They work past 7 on most clinic nights and make sure that every single patient gets the care they need. Please understand that the ophthalmological needs of this community are very high. The reason for the extended wait times is for no other reason than patient care and quality. Windsor has a very large need for retina examinations, and those examinations and treatments are time sensitive. Dr. Yoganathan makes sure that all emergent cases are seen ASAP, which does create a large volume of patients that need to be seen on a daily basis. If you have an appointment with her, it is for good reason. You may have to wait 2 hours, you may be moved from room to room getting different tests and drops, but those inconveniences are so very minor compared to losing the convenience of tour vision. She is a specialist, the most special, and I can certainly attest to her being well worth the wait. There is a reason I have titled them “The Dream Team;” because 4 years ago I could only dream of being cared for the way that I am now.

I had a very pleasant experience . She did a very great job with my surgery. Couldn’t ask for better care. Zero pain meds since the operation. Also the staff was very professional throughout. Big thanks to everyone

Had a wonderful experience. From the moment of checking in to the exams and booking of follow up appointment I was treated with care and respect. The attention to safe practice by office staff in regard to Covid-19 was outstanding. Being provided with the 'Welcome To the Office' information page is a helpful tool so one can understand what to expect.

I could not be happier or more impressed with Dr Yoganathan or her staff. They went above and beyond to help me today to get answers of what was happening with my health. Dr Yoganathan is extremely professional, thorough, and caring. She is very knowledgeable and I could not be more grateful that she and her staff took care of me today.

Like an essembly line in this office. The covid-19 measures are only wash hands and wear masks. I was concerned, very concerned at how many people are in this office at one time!? One cannot stay 2 meters apart from another because of to many people in this place. Scarey!!!! I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!

I am a healthcare provider and I am going through a very stressful time in my life. My grandmother who I was very close with passed away March 6 and I was trying to decide on major life decisions prior to this happening. On March 3, I started having eye pain and redness and thought I had pink eye. My PCP prescribed me medicine for pink eye. After it did not resolve and was getting worse, I went to Windsor Regional Hospital Emergency room and was referred to Dr. Yoganathan. Dr. Yoganathan was extremely thorough with all of the tests ordered and imaging done in office – she even did a retinal scan angiogram. She prescribed me medication to help with my issue until we received answers from the tests. She informed me that I have retinitis – acute retinal necrosis which is a very serious eye infection and can cause blindness. I was extremely scared and overwhelmed. She promptly referred me to a facility that took a sample of the fluid from my eye and detected what was causing my infection. Within hours we knew exactly what caused my eye infection. The anti-viral medicine to treat my condition is not found in Windsor so she told me exactly where to go and made sure it was a place my insurance was accepted. She went above and beyond to make these arrangements for me and I am forever grateful. Dr Yoganathan is the best ophthalmologist and is extremely knowledgeable. She truly cares about her patient’s wellbeing and health. Even when I was receiving the anti-viral injection in my eye, she called to check on me and continued to follow-up to make sure I received the best care. God Bless her, she is truly amazing.

Although we are currently in an unprecedented time during this Covid-19 Pandemic and every business and facility is adjusting to the new strict rules and regulations that are outlined by Health Canada, I personally feel that the Windsor Eye Institute and Dr. Yoganathan are blatantly walking a fine line of just not caring anymore. My Appointment was scheduled for the morning, although there was no notice posted outside the office to wait outside until called in or anything I walked in and was quickly told to exit until called, then while waiting 3 other patients walked in and never came out, tried walking in again and was told that they forgot about me out there... Then as my hunt for an open seat began, I noticed how everyone was basically sitting on top of everyone else, sure there are seats crossed off with caution tape and your told to keep your social distance, but this didnt seem important here as the office appears to thrive on overbooking their appointments. Waiting approximately 30 mins to be brought in by a tech to take a standard eye exam, have my eyes dilated and then told to go sit back out in the waiting area until the doctors calls me. That's where my 5 hours wait began, and when I was finally called in by Dr. Yoganathan, I had my eyes checked for a grand total of 3 minutes, no explanation of what was going on with my eyes, just told that I can pay extra to get better imaging done on some machine by another tech and to wait some more. Not to mention that when the Dr. walked in she was discussing another patients private information on her cell phone while on speaker. It was this experience that cemented by opinion of never returning to this clinic/office ever again. Not to mention that Dr's rude treatment of staff in front of other patients, and being extremely passive aggressive to them. To be honest, the licensing body (CPSO) and health unit should pay this office a visit.

Almost 1 year ago now, just before Christmas, my mother experienced one of the most life altering things, waking one morning and no longer being able to see. After calling different offices, all who said this was an extremely urgent matter which needed to be dealt with immediately or risk permanent vision loss said they could see my mom in February of the next year. We finally were more fortunate than we even knew when we came across Dr. Yoganathan and her most wonderful team. Dr. Yoganathan brought my mom in on Christmas eve, had the necessary test and ultra sounds completed and performed surgery on both of my mothers eyes over an entire month before she would even have had the first consultation with anyone else. Through what was one of the most painful experiences Dr. Yoganathan and her team maintained a positive outlook and supported my mother physically and emotionally. They gave my mom a second chance at seeing her family again. Our family would highly recommend Dr. Yoganathan to everyone. Professional, compassionate and forever in our gratitude.
