Horrible experience. She tried to do a cataract surgery on me, without checking if I was high risk or low risk. When she got me on the table, with knife in hand, and had already made her cut....she realized that I was high risk. The eye started to move and she started to scream at her assistance. , to get this and get that. She did not perform in a hospital, she sent me home, I had absolutely no vision in the right eye for the next 6 months. She would not help me in any way. The surgeon who saved me had to perform 2 more surgeries to correct the mess dr Tam had left me in. I still do not have a vision in right eye. So I went from not wearing glasses for 40 years to now I have to juggle 3 pairs of glasses for the rest of my life. Thanks to one simple thing...she did not check for movement prior to surgery

She was sarcastic when I asked her questions, treated me like an idiot. I would never go back. I told my doctor about my experience and he named her before I did.

Dr. Tam has been my eye doctor for several years. During this time she has performed 2 cataract operations on me and inserted an astigmatism lens. She has also given me yearly eye checks. I feel very blessed to have her as my eye doctor. She's very skilled and professional and is also thoughtful, personable, and kind. I highly recommend Dr. Tam.

Recently, our 2-year old son had weird symptoms in his left eye (it was so sensitive to light, teary-eyed, and a little inflammation). After using normal sterile eye drops for a few days and Polysporin for one time as they did not work out, we went to the Pediatric Emergency in Surrey Memorial Hospital and after waiting for over 3 hrs in there, although the incompetent Emergency Doctor used the slit lamp he said there is nothing evident to diagnose and we should continue using Polysporin for another 4 days, and if still, the symptoms do not vanish we should see an ophthalmologist. Thanks be to God that we did not listen to him! The next business day, we contacted Dr. Tam's clinic, and she was so nice to accept us on the same day even though the clinic was busy. Due to the hard reactions of our son, she could not perform a full examination at the clinic and suggested having sedation at the hospital in the evening. She was very accountable and kind in guiding us throughout the process. Dr. Tam came to the emergency in the evening as she had arranged, spent hrs waiting to have nurses make the arrangements, and carefully examined the eye using the same slit lamp that the night before the emergency doctor could not see anything using it. Dr. Tam found a tiny foreign object stuck right in the center of our son's eye. Her great dexterity in removing the object was exceptional. She gave absolute relief for the pain. Thanks, Dr. Tam, You did a great job!!
