WOW, is all I can say about this place. I'm absolutely blown away by the experience that this optometry office offers. The receptionist was lovely and very welcoming and thorough with the COVID safety procedures. The optometrist assistant who did my initial assessments (I'm sorry I didn't catch her name) was very lovely and pleasant. Dr. Chiu was the optometrist and incredibly knowledgeable - he's diligent, passionate, informative, and walked me through everything I needed to know about my eyes - I'm extremely impressed with his level of detail and care towards with his patients and last but not least, Hannah - who was incredibly helpful in helping me pick a new pair of glasses and wrap up the end of my appointment. You'd be crazy to go anywhere else but Optomeyes for your optometry services!!!

Second time at this place. The first time was nothing out of the extraordinary. Second time I had to leave as my appointment was running 30-40mins late and I had to return to work. I honestly can’t afford taking an afternoon off to have an eye exam done. I’d expect to at least be called if they’re “jammed” or super behind. This is not a public service after all.

I was having a multitude of eye issues - strain, headaches and found it difficult to focus - so I was worried we'd never get down to the bottom of it. Last year I was looking for a new optometrist and chanced on Dr. Bowden. He's a superlative eye care specialist; very amiable, seems very current on his knowledge, and is dedicated to improving one's ability to see. His comment last time: "we're going to get to the bottom of this, and help you see better." No finer words and commitment could be made! Also last time I got to experience some great new technology the office has invested in, that eliminates the need to have administered those horrendous dilation drops, and records a radius image of the eyes that gives the doctors literally a much better picture of the condition of the eye. Beyond the examinations, my wife and I have spent thousands of dollars on new glasses at the West Vancouver office and been 100% satisfied with Joe's fittings. It's a pleasure to vouch for this medical office, as this level of eye care is not common.

Honestly I had a very bad experience in the clinic. The Asian nurse were so mean. I paid $550 package for after lasted surgery however I’ve never got even a phone for the exams. A few days I was told I should do the exam and I went to see the doctor. They said I have to pay the exam because the exam is not included. That’s so funny! You took the money for the package exams and never even set up an appointment and now you said I have to paid extra?? Shame on you!

Dr.Bowden has been my optometrist for a few years now and he, and his office staff, has always been great. I recently brought in my 3 year old and they were so good with her; they even gave her a pair of cute kids sunglasses to bring home! I had Radial Keratotomy (RK) in India 20 years ago because of that surgery my cornea got distorted and my vision got worst. I went to a lot of eye doctors, tried a lot of contacts, and eventually I underwent a corneal transplant by Dr. Simon Holland in Canada. The surgery was successful, but due to my eye shape glasses doesn't work not even soft contact lenses then doctor recommend Scleral Lenses. Scleral Lenses literally changed my life. A Practice Rejuvenated! I have been a patient of this clinic since moving to the North Shore 20 years ago. And to be honest the service and organization had been declining to the point where we were looking for a new Optometrist. Fortunately, for the current staff, I had a bit of an eye glasses emergency and they blew me away. I was able to get in for an appointment that day to update my prescription (Dr Melanie was fantastic), they were able to help me pick out new frames and get me temporary lenses immediately following my appointment, staying well past closing time and had them swapped out with permanent lenses two days later. To me this is the definition of 5 star service!

When looking for an eye care medical office, I was looking for quality and best practice care, which I felt I had when I first came here last month. I was surprised and impressed by the comprehensive level of testing and assessments that they took the time to do in my visit for my full eye exam. Each person I dealt with, including my optometrist, had very good bedside manner, were very knowledgable and descriptive and thorough in explaining any assessment finding. The appointment was about 45 minutes, and they were respective of my appointment time slot. The optometrist wanted to do an eye dryness test on me during my first visit however due to doing their chosen sequence of other tests which were performed, they were unable to perform the test on the first visit. He suggested for me to come back another day when my eyes were back to normal. This test was presented to be a part of my comprehensive eye appointment and there was no mention of additional or hidden fees. The eye exam was already more expensive than other optometrist offices so there was the assumption that their comprehensive tests would be included. I booked the secondary appointment, and they were helpful in fitting me in when it worked for my schedule. After my 15 minute appointment, I was surprised with a new $60 bill for the test. Unfortunately, my extended health benefits only cover one eye appointment so I was forced to pay this second bill out of pocket which was described as being part of their comprehensive eye exam by the eye care team. Overall, the service and quality of the clinic was great, but I also value transparency of appointment expectations. Due to the above points, that situation made me skeptical that this was a 'sales tactic' so my otherwise 5 start review is now a 2 star.

For the first time during the pandemic (even after having surgery with very little to no follow up in another province) I feel I had proper care and attention at a medical facility! I have been going to Optomeyes for almost 10 years, seeing three different optometrists over that time. All of the staff here have been very good. Eye exams are thorough and carefully explained. I feel that my eye health is the priority when I go here, which is what I want from an eye doctor. There is no hard sell on buying new glasses. If you do buy new glasses here you will pay top dollar but they will be good quality. Repairs can be done to 'get you by' in an emergency but may be more functional than pretty. There are other places to go for more cost effective repair service.

On a recent visit to the North Shore I chose Optomeyes to get new glasses . And I’m very glad I did! It was an altogether satisfying experience that started with stepping into a bright, cheery office and being welcomed by friendly staff. As they have you settled into comfortable chairs with a cup of gourmet coffee and a magazine from an eclectic choice on the rack, you almost wish that the waiting time will be long. However, you are soon invited to start the rounds of measurements and eye examination. Dr. Davidson’s examination was thorough and she took time to explain the findings as well as answer any questions I had. After choosing a frame from the well stocked display and meeting Joe, the optician, I was on my way. My new glasses were mailed to me at my home on the Island. They fit very well and have improved my vision immeasurably. As I need follow-up treatment for an eye disease, Dr Davidson was very kind in sending off quickly a referral to an ophthalmologist in my home town. Nobody likes going to the eye doctor. It's always been an in and out experience leaving you with no knowledge on what is actually going on with your eyes and how they work. Through a referral I decided to try a visit out with Dr. Davidson. I left with a firm grasp on the condition of my eyes, how they work and the importance of proper eye care.
