Arrive at A&E 6am. There was nobody waiting. I was invited for assessment in 30 min and then waited until 9am for the doctor to call me despite the fact there was NOBODY else waiting. Just a joke. It's A&E but clearly doctors were sleeping and only started working at 9am while I was in pain.
I am very impressed with NHS service, very detail and kind to my son. I when to Windsor Prince Charles eyes hospital, Dr very rough to my child when there two times same treatment while my son have eyes piano for a few months. Especially thank u Emmauel EGB, very patient to my son with lot of love thats what I'll people needed. Instead of telling u it is fine for pain it ll better soon and not even telling the patient what cos the pain. Thank u for Moorfields Eye Hospital.
I accompanied my elderly mother to the cataract admissions today. (Sedgwick ward) Mum suffers from COPD, which causes extreme anxieties, I cannot thank everyone from the nurses, Surgeon, anaesthetist enough from the bottom of my heart, how they all were very professional, caring, empathetic, towards my mum. In fact she was so relaxed that she wanted the other eye done there and then. It’s been a difficult time for everyone, especially the NHS, who all deserve to be credited in a BIG way for their time, dedication, empathy, kindness. Thank you so much please pass on my gratitude for the great work all those involved. From a very grateful heartfelt daughter.
After hours of waiting and doing a marathon up and down the stairs like a headless chicken, you might just be able to attend the appointment you intended to. They waste your time by taking measurements of your face for your glasses and then when they post them home they are so big they couldn’t fit on an elephants face!
I have been to Moorfield hospital 3 times. The first time in A&E and the second times at a follow up appointment. I was very pleased with the care received and I felt that the staff were very thorough. However, last Saturday I wasn't impressed at all. The appointment I waited for months was disappointing and a waste of time. The nurse only checked the eye pressure and then she dismissed me. My optician could have done that. Thoroughly upset about the whole experience.
Excellent treatment in A&E and they didn't even laugh at me for googling my eye infection to the point where I became convinced that I'd lose an eye.
I visited A&E on Tuesday the 9th of November and I was treated exceptionally well by everyone. The whole team was great from beginning with Gary at reception through to Manuel in the pharmacy. I need to give a special and very big thanks to …
My daughter has an eye infection and was referred by our GP to see a specialist. I was horrified by the receptionist who handled the situation unprofessional and without any consideration. Had a call back after had consulted the doctor …
Today I have entered A&E department at Moorfield eye hospital. My eyes was checked by 4 or 5 different doctors on 5 or 6 different equipment(machinery). Just wanted to say that I have experienced highest level professional service. I'm so pleased and thankful. Highly highly highly recommended hospital! Thanks again!
Thanks to this amazing hospital and thanks dr consultant Scott, you guy are doing amazing job
The people that work here are wonderful. From the lovely security lady at the door, to the receptionists, nurses and doctors. My second visit in 2 years, the first time my retina tore and they Lasered it ! It's so frightening and they're all so kind and patient. Thank you , lovely people. I'm beyond grateful to you all , and the NHS . X
The medical staff and supporting services are brilliant. I've visited 5 times since the beginning of COVID and the hospital's decision to enforce completely unnecessary one way systems and gate keepers at the entrance negatively impacts the experience. I have found these COVID Marshalls rude and patronising. They disrupt the natural flow of people and cause more confusion. Heaven forbid if you walk down the wrong corridor, they come chasing and screaming after you. This is October 2021, time to send these Marshalls home and let us get on with receiving our medical care in peace. What do they think they're achieving?
Had to attend Moorfield hospital recently for a retinal detachment operation, the whole team from the receptionists, nurses and Consultant teams were outstanding and offer a world leading treatment centre for eye care.......I will always be grateful for their care and expertise
Well i went to A&E today as i was having pain in my right eye, everyone was nice but when i saw the doctor, she said i shouldn't have come to A&E, told me i was anxious, of course i was, told me it was my dry eyes, I've been to Moorfields many times never have i been told i should not attend, that upset me, people need to be kind, think that patient's will get anxious, i will attend in the future if i have problems because Moorfields are the best eye hospital, that's why i will go if i ever have any issues again.
Great hospitality!!! Wonderful and caring staff and services!!! Doctor's who treated me was calm and positive approach made my visit awesome!!! Thanks a lot ????!! God bless!!!
Overall my experience at Moorfield eye hospital was not good, I know staff are working under pressure due to COVID19. On my arrival today at the first floor reception the person behind the …
Came here today for electrophysiology, I am really impressed and happy how the staff especially Antonio on the first floor, helped me and got a porter with a wheelchair. The porter took me out to the taxi rank, as after I had the tests done I had severe vertigo, which meant I couldn't walk in a straight line, let alone walk out the hospital and get two underground trains to Waterloo and then the train to Farnborough. Very happy. Very thankful and appreciated the support and help. Would highly recommend this hospital.
Waited literally 7 hours in A&E after a scratch on my eye. I was in absolute pain and could barely see. They should really have a better queueing system even as simple as the order number display to let us know how long it is. I understand …
Retina issues. A&E receptionist is good,. Nurse is good, doctor is good. Excellent service . Well explained, clearly understood the symptoms and prescriptions. I feel good.
I'm an image retoucher so my eyes, over the years, have taken a lot of abuse. Ran into problems with my vision this weekend. Walked into Moorfields without a prior appointment and they were just brilliant. Couldn't find fault. From the nurse on the door, to the wonderfully sweet lady who put drops in my eyes, to the doctor himself. It underlines just how fantastic our dedicated nhs can be, given the right resources. Thank you all.
100 out of 10!! All staff are so lovely ???????? Everyone seems happy to work with the patient I really enjoyed to see them even I hurt my eyes so much Lovely hospital????
I have been going here for many years to the Uveitis clinic and I have had to use the A&E. The staff are unbelievable and so amazing! You cannot get better eye care anywhere else. The hospital as well has so much art on the walls which is really nice. The A&E was amazing and every quick I may say! If you liked my review please give it a ???? and feel free to follow me on Google Maps for more reviews!
In for emergency eye surgery via referral from the excellent Dr Sim from the Western. The nursing team were totally professional and fully explanatory in all aspects of the oncoming process. The Theatre team led by the brilliant Mr Wong were very calming and reassuring to me pre-op and Mr Wong even spoke to me throughout the whole process which is totally reassuring to any patient. It's certainly a birthday ill always remember ! Five stars just doesn't do these superstars service. I am now recovering at home and await my 2 week return confident that all that could of been done has been done for me. THANK YOU ALL !!!!
I appreciated the nursing staffs' helpful, courteous, professional, caring attitude. The 2 nurses gave clear explanations, instructions throughout the battery of tests they administered. I am very grateful to the Doctor who gave me further exams, fed back the results in a way that I understood having listened patiently to my concerns. My anxiety was allayed. Very impressed and reassured with the whole experience
Shocking nhs need to relax there enforcement of this 2 person covid rule visited today with my young daughter and my partner waiting in the dark for possibly something serious
Thank You for one perfect eye, other surgery next week cataract surgery I can see SO much clearly and Know my right eye will SEE without clouds and pain from a cataract .. Thank You to all staff …surgeons …nurses ..aides …porters ..as I use a wheelchair and need help…it’s there without asking Stay Safe to all staff…thanx ????
Met by a guard at the entrance of A&E who was unhelpful, rude and dictatorial. Although my husband has just lost his sight in one eye, with the potential to lose sight in the other I was not allowed to sit with him as his carer in A&E. We spent the whole day together at the Vitreo-retinal clinic at Moorfield's on Wednesday 22nd December - a few days ago - without anyone barking at us or treating us like wayward children, unlike today. The nurse on A&E reception wasn't much better: in her ignorance she tried to turn my husband away from A&E. He had detached retinal surgery at Moorfield's a few days ago!! That's why with further symptoms he was attending A&E at Moorfield's today!! Shame on you both! You bring the otherwise good reputation of the hospital down.
I have been with Moorfields for so long but they keep on postponing any treatment. Are they selectively treating people? I think I am worse off now than when I was first referred there. Chemicals in my eyes all the time without treatment. May they want me to blind before they help me.
I had recently cataract removal surgery and I cannot thank enough to all staff who looked after me from admission until after care recovery. The staff is very professional, caring and friendly. I was a bit nervous but everything went well thanx to all. ????❤????????❤
I was little early for my appointment and been waiting for over an hour, everyone came after me has been seen to- The receptionist is not very helpful at all- before I even finish my sentence she just point to the door- I hv no doubts that I have moved down the list for reasons unknown
Thank you Moorfields Eye Hospital. I presented to the children’s ward with my 2.5 year old son after becoming increasingly concerned with the movement of one of his eyes. The staff were amazing. Over three hours, 5 different professionals …
I went to Moorfields eye hospital last Wednesday after my pet squirrel accidentally scratched the inside of my eye I was in so much pain I was given pain killer drops straight away.Even though my husband had covered up my bad eye I didn’t like the light & when I went into the cubicle the lights were turned off for me & the nurse helped me to the cubicle from my mobility scooter onto the chair I was treated really well the staff were lovley
On my recent visit to Moorfields, for an Operation,i can say that all the staff that looked after me,Nurse, surgeon and other staff were totally amazing.I was a bit nervous but was put at my ease. I was treated with respect.I had a laugh with my Nurse,Sophie. Also joking with my Surgeon and staff in the Operating Theatre. I would recommend Moorfields to anyone. They are a very caring Hospital.
Very kind and caring staff at the Northwick Park Moorfields Ophtalmology clinic. Despite being busy and working long hours the staff are empathetic and caring towards patients.
Fantastic service, they have saved my partner's sight in his right eye and even though he's still having treatment the service is the highest I've ever experienced. Waiting times are high but it is a very busy hospital and we are quite …
Very safe. Waiting areas small but big comfy chairs. They lost my covid results. However very professional surgeons and theatre staff. A lot of patients coming with another adult, not very helpful. Currently some appointments are online or phone. That's okay as they are also doing covid vaccinations. Well done.
Don’t go there with anything they do not deal with on a daily basis. They will be completely dismissive for months while your eye deteriorates, and then give you telephone appointments where they repeatedly misdiagnose you without even examining you, also telling you your symptoms are not your symptoms. They will also tell you over the phone that they’re referring you to see a specialist, and then after waiting weeks for the referral letter to turn up, you will find out that they did not refer you to anywhere. They are just horribly negligent.
I have to go once a month. Professional helpful and polite. Yes they may occasionally run late but never by much. Book the first appoint of the day and you’ll be on time
Excellent service I visited the emergency last night, just before middle night because i passed the whole day with a problem on my eyes which became worse during the night, my eyes were really itchy and watery, i got some drops from boots but it did not help, so i went to the emergency and they checked me carefully, the were super professional and they diagnosed me conjunctivitis allergic, i had just negatives experiences using the NHS but this is the first time i feel save using their services thank you so much to Dr Omer Jamall and Fred for looking after me me and my poor eyes so well :)
I came here a while ago but forgot to submit a review. I had some cement type debris in my eye which usually if I'm on site I can remove with an emergency eye wash kit but unfortunately not this time. I had a lady, I believe her name was Lesley remove the debris and really saved my eye. She took much care and took time to explain what was going on during the process. Thanks again ????
You might agree with me or you might not agree me with me, Moorfield eyes hospital is probably the BEST eye hospital in London. Very efficient and fast pace not to mention as well, very CONVENIENT, Very professional and well trained. So …
Why have appointment times if you're going to keep patients waiting 50mins, and simply say sorry for the wait. Ridiculous.
Very long wait. Advise not to be at the hospital more than 15 minutes before your appointment or you have to queue outside. Didn't seem to be very busy once inside but had to wait over an hour to be seen.
A&E and eye clinic staff, nurses and doctors are all professional and kind. Went there with an eye ulcer, I was very scared and they were very human and compassionate. The place is always busy but the appointments are controlled and the …
Superb care, wonderful staff - friendly, helpful, supportive - cannot fault the excellent attention I have received. Special thanks to the ever patient phone help line staff.
First time going there and must say my experience was horrendous, from the moment I walked in and left I just wished I never stepped in there. I called before I went to emergency there as I was referred there from another hospital and they told me to go in, I went in and the nurse at reception says it’s not an emergency, until I literally had to fight my way in she got an eye doctor to come out and see me and eventually after showing my phone and telling them I’ve left two young kids behind not to mention how much I’ve travelled after their hospital themselves told me to go in they finally let me in, at this point they were talking about me in front of my face without any consideration about how I was feeling l, I was in tremendous pain (I had shingles right next to my eye) and needed to make sure this was nothing to do with my eyes as my eyes was burning and itching non stop. After waiting hours for an eye doctor they prescribed me something for the shingles and did not help at all with my itch burning eyes and couldn’t even explain what was causing this. The drops they gave has not helped at all. It doesn’t end there after waiting another hour for my medication to be given to me, I went to ask what was going on and when she checked they had somebody else’s name on my prescription so almost waiting 3 hours for an eye doctor I waited another hour for no reason, they then said they will sort it out so sent me back to outside waiting area then I see the nurse another 45 mins later without my medication, by this point I was absolutely livid and in so much pain, asked her where the heck is my medication she then turns around and says “oh did no1 give it to you” I was absolutely furious, someone then came out and gave my medication I just grabbed it and left. What a bloody joke. Never again. Trust me guys find another eye hospital. Worse organisation I have ever experienced.
Called last night as needed urgent help was in a queue for 45 mins on the phone. I explained to the nurse that i had pain and sore left eye only to be told that i should not present at A and E. And to join a video link in the morning she really didnt help much. Today my gp done a urgent refferal to stevenage eye clinic were i have been treated for iritis the Dotor i saw at stevenage couldnt belive what i told him i will be writing to Pals
I am sitting at the waiting room at the A&E. I am very impressed with the professionalism and politeness of the all staff here! I was well surprised when the coordinator Mr Dondi came to addressed all waiting, politely and clearly …
I have waited nearly 6 months for an appointment which was scheduled for today, only to be called & texted on Friday that this has been changed to a telephone appointment. This was already incredibly frustrating, considering the wait. Today I don't receive a call at the scheduled time, so I call up the hospital only to be told that whoever phoned me on Friday made a mistake and that this is a face to face appointment, but don't come as the doctor has called in sick. Such a stressful & appalling service. I want to be seen ASAP.
I was at morefields eye hospital for my laser eye surgery yesterday and was told to go to the 4th floor refractive waiting room to book myself in. The receptionist was from HELL her name was mandi or something like that. There was atleast 2 other people waiting there i was with my wife and 2 year old daughter who was just being herself a Child. All of a sudden the Crazy delusional receptionist snapped at my wife and told my wife to shut my daughter up. Unbelievable no one else complained about noise but her. Out of shock we just left and went downstairs I could not believe her stinking attitude. Like I said receptionist from Hell beware........
My mother has gone private here today and also 2 weeks ago. They are so slow. Wrong times given on her appointment sheet and just waiting for hours afterwards for the eye drops. I know others who haven't come back for their follow up check …
this hospital and it's dedicated eye specialists render us a lucky nation to have their first class expertise and care and aftercare. However we have encountered arrogant abrupt rudeness regarding appointments , my husband also waiting for eye op for November he had not asked for cancellation as he is still weighing up options for his procedure. Received call from someone almost bullying him to accept cancellation to suit there appointment/cancellation system!!!! and said they are reporting him to consultant what ever happened to patient/person centred care and their choices if my husband is prepared to wait surely that's his choice.
Went to the A&E Department early in the morning due to not sleeping last night because I felt some pressure in both eyes, severe pain and severe headache plus blurry vision. Been refused to be seen due to the fact that I have been a month …
Can’t thank these lovely people enough for what they have done for my daughter. I’m quite overwhelmed by their support and help and all they have done for her. These guys are the absolute best
As an outpatient they are very busy and the wait at clayton Street was over 2 hours today . But once seen the staff were kind, professional, and clean. Thank you nhs.
I attended Clinic 3 today Once again everyone was very kind ,they were all extremely patient with me ( old age getting to me ) Have been having treatment there now for some time, always lovely doctors and nurses Thankyou May I just say a Thankyou to the drivers they also were very helpful Fran French
What was an amazing hospital has now become an incredibly stressful space. Outpatient appointments are now as follows: - over 3 hours waiting time - 5 minutes with different consultants on each occasion - consultants contradict each others decisions leaving patients wondering, who is correct? - patients never see the same doctor twice. - over an hour waiting for a prescription in a crowded room or in a busy corridor - exhausted staff, clearly not coping with the amount of work, (no eye contact or smile) - a rude patronising volunteer patrolling corridors - overpriced café - they offer a buzzer service so that you can leave the crowded waiting space but then tell you that the buzzer won't work if you leave the waiting room. What has happened to moorfield? What a shame.
After thiriod eye disease . I had bone removed to save my sight. Amazing on its own merit . But then they made my face look normal again so a big thank out to Dr Daniel Ezra and his amazing team who helped me with my confidence. Your all amazing.
I have attended A&E at Moorfields Eye Hospital on 22nd of July after 2 weeks of blurred vision in left eye and headache, as I was advised by my GP. The receptionist told me straight away to go to the Optician first because 'I need glasses', without listening to my concerns, and told me that they can not see me because 'they are very busy', unless the Optician will send me back. I left upset and dissapointed, I was not feeling well and my way getting there it has been difficult due to poor vision at that time. I did not go to the Optician, I am a healthcare professional myself and I knew that something was wrong and I needed emergency care and not Optician review. I went to Western Eye Hospital instead, where I was treated politely and professionally from the Reception to the medical team, and it proved that my condition was serious and an emergency as I ended up having a lot of blood tests and other investigations and being sent to another local A&E for further investigations and CT scan. However, my condition is resolving but I am still under regular review by WEH. For a hospital with the reputation like Moorfields Eye Hospital, treating emergencies like this is a shame.
Tremendously grateful for the staff here! Came here for the A&E service and was absolutely anxious. The lovely receptionist was super friendly and chatted with me to calm me down. The doctor was really professional and helpful. A heartfelt big thank you to the staff here!
