Sad that such an upstanding institution cannot take care of their employees and provide them with decent and affordable health care. I didn't think health insurance this bad even existed! Shame on you!
I had a terrible experience with Froedtert! They are suppose to be at the top of their fields but they know NOTHING about PATIENT CARE! I was a patient there and when I asked to speak to the doctors I got the run around or blatantly argued with! Which not being able to speak with the doctors doing my surgery (all of them) I ended up with complications because they screwed up as well as the doctors I saw in office afterwards! I’m currently looking at my options to sue because I refuse to pay a bill that expensive when I have issues leftover from my stay and experience from this hospital! I have always been an Aurora patient and had to go their due to an open fracture, my chart at Aurora now states that if I ever have to be sent to a trauma hospital Froedtert is unacceptable for me and my family! If I could I’d give them zero stars! Not only did their screw up leave me with physical issues but also with a mountain of medical bills I can’t afford and not to mention I was out of work about a month longer than I should have! Thanks for ruining everything Froedtert! You suck!!
MCW Public Safety was wonderful and professional to work with. They went above and beyond to assist me.
Very professional and plenty of care and concern for the patient
MCW is a great campus to visit, however, at the time of this review, it was in the process of a parking garage expansion. That being said, it can be a little challenging finding a place to park. If you need to visit, try to get in early (and by early, I mean 7:30am). Nice little restaurant in the "HUB" section with plenty of open area seating. Great for studying or grabbing a quick cup of coffee. Excellent meeting rooms with the latest communication and audiovisual equipment. If you found this review helpful, please leave a ????. Thanks!
This medical collage is so nice I liked.
Excellent customer service excellent staff
My experience at MCW is related to a nephew who attended to become a physician. Now a resident at a hospital in the Madison area. MCW is a great school for aspiring students. Both of my parents have given the greatest gift to their Anatomical Gift Program for the advancement of the medical students. The memorial service they held was very thoughtful and moving.
Great place to visit...do not want to stay here tho!
A teaching and research Hospital, the Medical College, and their partner, Froedert Hospital provide too tier care in the Metro Milwaukee area. I have received care here, as have several family members. I am sure that there are cases where what they provide hasn't been the best, as they are a huge organization, but my experiences have been good.
Such a magnificent facility! Took a tour recently, and it’s a great medical school that I’d highly recommend.
Terrible place to work if you are a minority
Hospital is good, no issues there at all. Their billing is a complete nightmare however & I'd only go there in the future if it's a life threatening emergency. I'm still getting bills/collections for my daughter's surgery in 2013, YES 2013. I have & always have had good insurance & I've already paid money out of pocket for other bills related to the surgery. It seems like I pay one thing, then they bill me for something else later when I think it's all good. Idk what's going on & it makes me think they're just bombarding me with miscellaneous bills to confuse me. I requested an itemized bill so I can see what mistakes they're obviously making to apparently overcharge me. That was over a month ago but I've still received NOTHING. Meanwhile they're screwing up my credit. It's totally ridiculous & highly frustrating. I asked their collection agency, State Collection Service, if I'd get a receipt thru email if I paid one of the bills right away. She flat out told me NO & said I'd have to pay each separate bill (total of 6) before they'd send me any receipts! Pretty sure these people are crooks.
Dealing with the billing department is a nightmare. Horrible customer service, no return calls, Missed payment letters with zero missed payments in the 5 years that we've been dealing with Med College. Payments processed to incorrect accounts for incorrect amounts. Payments on THEIR web site get credited weeks afterwards. The elderly should stay clear, unless you want to spend hours each month to correct their mistakes, you will way overpay on your bill. And they will not provide me with a print out of my payments after many, many requests for that information. Hmmm..I wonder why?
Arrived ~30 min ahead of appointment as requested, to upload x-rays and sign in / paperwork. Soon after, the nurse / technician took an additional set of x-rays (3 total) and I waited about an hour for the doctor to come by, according to other reviews this is typical for Dr. Law. After a 15min discussion the doctor made his recommendation (surgery) and I was put into a split. This cost $3739 compared to a $240 bill from an urgent care facility, $1463 at Mass Gen (#6 Orthopedic and 2x as many X-Rays), and a $550 bill from Dr. Bohay in Grand Rapids, Michigan (note Bohay didn't take x-rays). After reviewing with Cathy (8/6) at the billing department the costing for 15 minutes of Dr. Law's time, splint, and 3 X-Rays broke down as: Minor Surgical Services: $334.5 -Hospital charge Minor Surgical Services: $334.5 -X-Rays Op. Misc Services: $533.0 -Splint X-Ray of Ankle: $88.0 -For interpretation of X-Rays New Doctor Office Visit: $345.0 -Examination fee "Treatment" of Broken Ankle: $2104.0 -Evaluation, recommended surgery, and assistant applied short leg splint (about 15min of Doctor's time and 10min of assistant) Total: $3,739 I put “treatment" of broken ankle in quotations since I do not agree with this statement. I believe $2100 to say you need surgery is excessive, since the splint and exam were billed separately. Unfortunately, a splint will not properly treat a dislocated fractured nor resolve the syndesmosis ligaments tear, which Dr. Law didn't diagnose in my "extensive exam". Cathy told me that pricing was compared annually to local service providers but wouldn't provide names of who those groups are so I cannot provide any input on cost vs. quality of care. Due to the exorbitant cost for services rendered I cannot recommend this facility. If possible, find local orthopedic group with a surgical center and save a few grand or go to nationally ranked Rush Medical, Northwestern Memorial, Loyola Medical, UW Hospital (Madison) for high complexity procedures, all within 100 miles. Edit 8/17/18: My bill from Massachusetts General (#4 hospital in US, #6 Orthopedic according to US News 2018-19) for a like "experience / treatment" came back as: Splint: $550.0 X-Ray of Ankle (6 at Mass Gen vs. 3 at Froedtert): $388.0 X-Ray readings (2 sets at Mass Gen vs. 1 set at Froedtert): $100.0 New Doctor Office Visit: $425.0 So a #6 ranked hospital charged 40% the cost of Froedtert ("not ranked / high performing" -US News 2018-19) hence the 1 star rating.
I was referred to this clinic by our pediatrician for a gi visit. They billed me $700 out of pocket for a 15 minute consultation. No procedure was done. They billed it as a consult instead of office visit. Billing said there is nothing they can do about it. I’m completely disgusted that these people can get away with this. BE SURE TO ASK HOW THE VISIT WILL BE BILLED.
What a joke. Their billing department that is. I went on a payment plan in October of 2017. In January 2018 they called and said I had to pay more month and it had to be auto pay. Now here we are in August and they have sent it to collections with NO WARNING. I haven't even been receiving statements after paying. Thanks for wrecking another persons credit!
Hospital is great but the billing department is unorganized and doesn't care about the patient. I went thru over a million in treatment and every time the billing department OVERBILLS and tells you there going to correct it. When you think there working on correcting it they send it to collections and tell you they can't do anything once it's there. Makes me want to switch hospitals.
The charges are robbery. The price for a 30 MINUTE consultation with a gastrointestinal doctor was $611.00. Nothing was done but talking, advice, and another referral. That kind of charge is outrageous and an insult to patients ... and the reason I am hesitant to go to or trust health care systems.
My PET scan was misinterpreted as normal. I was misdiagnosed and then verbally attacked by their neurologist. A year of suffering later, I had to go to Mayo Clinic, where the PET scan was properly interpreted, and I was diagnosed with encephalitis. Urologists and endocrinologists misdiagnosed me as well, and I had to switch to other specialists. Where else in the world do they have medical doctors appointed as assistant professors without a doctorate degree!? Overall horrible experience and needless suffering.
A friend of mine came into ER for possible stroke/heart attack during very cold weather. He got excellent care. All of these people who are complaining ought to visit some second and third world countries to find out what medical care is like in other parts of the world. You have a heart attack and just die. My friend, on the other hand, was not released until many tests were done and a new medication prescribed.
CAUTION - ask ahead of your visit if they will bill as a "consult" or an "office visit." Insurance coverage is less on a consult and ultimately your bill will be tremendously higher if the specialty group charges as a consult. Good doctors but we have had a poor experience with billing practices.
