I feel such immense gratitude for the amazing results that Professor Graham Barrett achieved with my recent rounds of eye surgery. He exceeded my expectations in leaps and bounds. I am in awe every single day, especially considering the complexity of my eyes. I don't think the novelty will ever wear off! It was also such an honour to be cared for by such a skilled, kind and incredible surgeon, who managed to put me at ease and make my fears melt away. Thank you Graham! I'm also grateful for the kind, friendly and efficient manner in which I was dealt with every step of the way by his team. Thank you.

Best give them a call before hand to find out if they're on schedule. Even SERCO at Fiona Stanley has better timing.

I was almost going to be blind and Doctor Geoffrey Crawford fixed it and now i have great vision Thank you so much

A big thank you to Professor Geoffrey Crawford and his team at the Lions Eye Institute who corrected my astigmatism with the LASIK procedure. I could not be happier with the outcome, I went from needing expensive glasses to having perfect eyesight in a matter of hours. Twelve months on I view my visit to Professor Crawford as life changing and highly recommend the Lions Eye Institute to everyone I meet. Thanks Again.

I had LASIK done in April 2019 by Angela Ang at Lions Eye. I found her to be extremely thorough, knowledgeable, reassuring and professional. The work she did on my eyes still blows me away today. I was -7.75 in my left eye and it’s now 20/20. My right eye didn’t come out perfect but I am told this is still a great result for a -7.5 eye. I am getting the right eye followed up and they booked me in straight away as I’ve had some nausea from it. Some people seek perfection, I am happy to not be almost blind and if later down the track I need reading glasses I can accept that. Much better than coke bottle glasses. Worth every penny!

I would highly recommend Dr Andrea Ang and her team. I did LASIK eye surgery at Lions Eye Institute in July, and my eyesight is now better than 20/20. The staff went above and beyond to make me comfortable and the entire procedure went very smoothly. I highly recommend Lions Eye institute if you are considering getting LASIK.

The two Ophthalmologists I've seen have been very rude. They weren't interested in listening. Not worth the money or time. Please go elsewhere, your eyes deserve more respect.

Dear Dr Angus, you performed a miracle today in Hedland, I was holding back my tears of joy at the success of the surgery you performed for my friend, and I also witnessed another of your patients walk out with perfect vision after your surgery. I could not believe that a this surgery could be so successful, other than having witnessed the results first hand. So thank you sir, you have truly impacted lives and are a blessing to those 2 I have witnessed first hand. With greatest respect. Mel, the unofficial carer.

I have been coming here for the past 10 years now and have nothing but appreciation for everything Dr Mei Ling Tay Kierney has done for me. I went from zero vision in my left eye due to a cataract to now having full 20/20 vision again.

After booking my appointment for my daughter they wait for the day of the appointment to say they don’t do the visual processing test absolutely disgusting.

Be prepared to wait a couple of hours for your appointment but in hindsight the wait was well worth while. Professor McAllister's examination was so thorough and reassuring. I, personally would definitely recommend the Lions Institute of Perth,

I am very familiar with the staff at LEI due to my own vision issues so I recommended them to my dad for his cataract surgery. We got him settled in and left for a while, returning, evidently a bit early to collect him. My mum was with me and we were sharing a mueslie bar waiting with a man who was waiting for surgery. A nurse came out and, in a terse voice told us "you shouldn't be eating in here", gentleman sitting aside from us did retort, laughing, that he had been fasting for six hours so he had in fact considered attacking us for a small snack...seriously, how ridiculous a comment. I'm a nurse myself and this behaviour, tone of voice and unnecessary comment without adequate signage is uncalled for and unprofessional. You could do with some communication education. As for everyone else, we couldn't fault, they were professional and lovely. Thank you for looking after dad..

I take a patient there and nothing but praise for dr Mcallister.

Unbelievable, but true, my husband and I witnessed a specialist gather several of his patients together in the waiting area , "because they had all had the same operation", and instructed them in front of us and others on their medication. Not surprisingly, none responded when he asked if there were any queries. It is for that reason, as well as the hours sitting around to be seen by a specialist for maybe 5 mins if you are lucky, and being told by a specialist an incorrect prescription was "written by a staff member", "he thought I was smart enough to know what to do" and "don't believe everything on a prescription" we have gone elsewhere for treatment. Perth has many excellent Ophthalmologists who treat all their patients with respect.

I would highly recommend Dr Andrea Ang and her team. They we reassuring though out my whole experience. I now have 20/20 vision which I can not remember ever having, now I see the world through my eyes. Thanks again Dr Andrea and the team at Lions Eye Institute. Brendon H

I just had both eyes treated with LASIK from Professor Crawford. His whole team, from the administration, opthamologists and nursing were very professional, warm and thorough. My nurse Abby, described step by step each process of the operation beforehand, and also during the operation, Professor Crawford stated exactly what was happening. I experienced some anxiety and the whole team helped calm and soothe me. The aftercare was precisely described and the next day, I already had 20/20 vision. This is such a wonderful team, I recommend them to anyone. Thankyou.

Yesterday I saw professor Graham Barret hoping for a procedure so I did not have to rely on glasses anymore. Unfortunately the procedures are not advisable for me but I was so impressed that professor Barret gave me his true opinion in my circumstances and it proved he was more concerned with me than a financial gain. Thankyou

I had LASIK surgery on both eyes with Professor Wiffen only yesterday - and today I cannot wipe the grin off my face because my vision is already amazing less than 24 hours later!! I could not speak more highly of Dr Wiffen or the rest of the staff at LEI. He was so thorough, informative and made me feel very at ease. The nursing staff for the surgery deserve a special mention too, they are so bubbly and friendly. A great experience overall - I will be recommending to anyone and everyone who will listen.

I had my LASIK surgery done here approximately 2 years ago. The first 12 months was great, the procedure gave me excellent vision, however, at the 12 month mark I noticed deterioration in my vision. I persevered for a further 6 months, using eye drops which helped initially but in the end I went to an optometrist who confirmed my vision had deteriorated. I had a review with my surgeon at the institute, basically they didn’t want to know about it and I was told “ the procedure obviously worked as you had perfect vision following it, the issue is your eyes have deteriorated over time”. I was disappointed with the response. If I knew 2 years ago that after spending $6500 on corrective surgery only to have it deteriorate after only 12 months and continue to deteriorate, I wouldn’t have gone through with it. I notice some people after having LASIK go on to have perfect vision for years, unfortunately this wasn’t the case for me. Edit Having recently been contacted by LEI I was offered a complimentary review. After testing and during the consultation the Dr offered me a free retreat, however it was explained as it had been longer than 18months it could carry serious complications which could result in poorer, un correctable vision. Something to do with not being able to laser open the flap due to the possibility of cells growing under the flap when revealed. ? It was advised that it would be a 10% chance. In the end I didn’t take up the offer due to weighing up the risks explained to me. I am however very thankful for the offer. Kind regards

I have been visiting St John of God for at least 2 years now, being treated for Gluacoma by Dr Guibilato and have nothing short of praise to all.

AMAZING VACILITY AND EVEN BETTER STAFF I have never been to any other doctor who cares as much as they do at lions eye. From the receptionists right through to the doctors and even accounts you are made to feel important (your eyes are important) it's never a drama I have been in contact with them all hours of the night on weekends even through email and it gave me so much reassurance. My eye didn't play the game after one of my operations but everyone is different and my eye is that. It doesn't matter when it is if I feel something wrong I am made welcome to get it checked.

Not sure what seems to be the issue that warrants inconsiderate treatment to my mother today. During the eye test, the optometrist/assistant addressed my mother in a very aggressive way - even raised her voice at her - which is strange considering she is 78 years old and was not given clear instructions during the reading test. What she went through was unprofessional at the very least and train your staffs to be better at managing different patients, regardless of their age or race. Had my mother saw an ACTUAL doctor, this wouldn't have happened. To the self-hating lady that yelled at my mum: working at an eye centre doesn't make you an Ophthalmologist nor make you any more special than anyone else. Also as a further note, don't judge a book by its cover too often. They might mistake you too someday.

Professor McAllister and his staff are the kindest, most caring of staff that I have come across in any medical facility.

So I recently accompanied a family member for a post opt check up, be prepared to wait anywhere between 1-3 hour to be seen. Note to self, if your appointment is at 9:30am on a Friday you can come arrive at 10:30am & still be on time. If anything you may need to wait another hour before being seen. I was later told that this particular Dr normally does his eye ops on Thursday & then Fridays are horrendous for check ups. Maybe worth avoiding booking a check up on Fridays.

Attended my appointment on Tuesday afternoon. The reception staff in particular are exemplary in dealing with all patients in clinic and also over the phone in a warm, friendly and extremely professional manner. In particular when I witnessed staff going above and beyond to attend to a patients needs.

Dr. Bala was quick and very professional. I'll be happy to return for any future ophthal issues.

Professor Crawford was great, patient and wonderful with my Dad. However the problem we found with LEI is they are slow, you book an appointment and are seen generally two hours after schedule and the admin staff can be quite abrupt when asked if they are running on time. It is quite frustrating when you are endlessly waiting and hear them talking about their weekend and personal lives, not looking too busy. There seems to be no consideration that some people are taking time of work and that a three to four hour time frame for an eye appointment is not realistic for most people. Even when you call, I just spent over five minutes on hold, each time being told I was first in line, just to end up with a voice message? There are multiple receptionists/admin people, can't one grab the phone?
