Overall good experience. I wasn't given sample of contact lenses even though they have had tons of supplies. It was an awkward moment and I felt bad. Because I went to the Dr. without my glasses as they were broken and needed a visual aid. They have said they did not have it, and then they have found just "one". The Dr. is nice and professional. I was not given the PD of my eyes. I was not informed with my lens prescription.

I wouldn't go back. I went for an eye checkup to see if there was any change in my prescription. Upon knowing my condition (which I was completely aware of and have recieved the top most treatment for) he asked me where I was from. As soon as I mentioned I moved from India a few years ago he started using sentences like "Yes, that's why you have this issue. Your parents clearly neglected you to be very honest". Definitely not a doctor's job to judge anyone's parenting! The information/medical advice could have been shared in a professional manner and by not making assumptions.

My previous optometrist made me wait close to 45 minutes between the testing and actually getting to see her, and then often would leave me in the room mid appointment. Dr.Hussen took time to teach me about my eyes and my prescription, but also had me out of the appointment in a timely manner. I highly recommend him!

What an experience. My partner and I went for annual eye exams in August. We both has Dr. Mariko Hirano. My Rx was the same, and nothing had changed for me. My partner, who has never worn glasses before, and truthfully hasn't had an eye exam in over a decade, was given a VERY incorrect prescription. After LensCrafters screwed up the glasses royally (see other google review), I insisted that we get a Rx check by Dr. Hussen. Within a second, he was able to detect the problem of the glasses themselves, as well as recognizing that the previous eye test was messed right up. Dr. Hussen waved the $60 prescription check fee and his front desk staff were excellent as always. Dr. Mariko Hirano mentioned to my partner that she has never NOT given a prescription, so basically NO ONE has 20/20 vision. (Is that how they stay in business?!) I am not surprised to have discovered how incorrect her exam was. If you can, see Dr. Hussen. He is realistic, very understanding and is very detail oriented.

I woke up one morning with pain and redness in my left eye. I called his office hoping he would able to take an emergency appointment. Dr Hussen was very accommodating and he was able to be squeeze me in for an appointment. Dr Hussen looked at my eye and diagnosed me with an eye infection. I recently became a new patient of Dr. Hussen's since he is currently accepting new patients in his office. I have worn glasses and contacts most of my life but have never been too satisfied with my contacts previous doctors have given me. At this office I was able to do a contact lens evaluation where I could try a few different brands of lenses before going ahead and ordering a bunch and he even seen me back to double check everything was ok with the lenses before I spent money. He really knows his stuff when it comes to contacts, so does his receptionist, and they have a huge variety in the office of all different prescriptions. Even if you do not need an eye exam I would defiantly suggest going here for your contacts whether you are a new or old user! Also great prices when it comes to contacts! When I ordered my lenses they even gave me some free ones and free cleaning solution! amazing place!

My experience was pretty good overall. The exam itself went well. The only thing is that when I pointed out that there was white hair on the seats in the waiting area, one of the workers profusely denied it. It would have been nice if someone had just taken a minute to use a lint roll over the seats or express that it will get done when they have a moment. It's a little thing but it would have made a big difference to me and I'm sure many other clients. On a more positive note, I was given a much needed student discount and was treated fairly well overall.

Before my visit with Dr. Hussen at Conestoga Eye Care I had never had an eye exam so I was not sure what to expect. I can definitely say I was very impressed from start to finish. I thought I would have to wait since it was a Dr's office or I would be there all day which was not the case at all. I was also very impressed with all of the high quality instruments in his office. Not only did he just check if I needed glasses but he checked the entire health of my eyes and even took some pictures of the back of the eyes that I was able to see myself. Me and my whole family will continue to go to Conestoga Eye Care annually to have your eyes checked and I suggest you do too!

Recieved an email that I missed an appointment... Problem is I never booked an appointment. I haven't been to this establishment in two years. I found my previous was exam was behind schedule, and they rushed my exam because of this. I believe they were closing for lunch if I recall correctly. I find it extremely difficult to believe you can complete an accurate exam in under five minutes, and when I bought my prescription it was not correct (not hard to believe). I will be taking my business to the University of Waterloo from now on. The exam at the university is very thorough, and my prescription from them was impeccable. I find it inappropriate that an employee from Conestoga eye care has booked an appointment on my behalf, as well as unprofessional.

I just wanted to publicly thank Dr. Hussen for what he did last night. Close to 10:00pm last night, my daughter felt like her contact lense slipped back to behind her eye, and was in quite a bit of panic/pain. My daughter is not a patient of Dr, Hussen's, but we randomly called his office in the hopes of getting an emergency number to help our daughter out. Surprisingly Dr. Hussen picked up the phone at 10:00pm, who was still there doing paperwork after the office closed at 7:00pm. He was just about to leave to go home, but said he would wait the 15 minutes it would take us to get there to assess our daughter. Dr. Hussen then thoroughly assessed my daughter's eye, and now she is totally fine! He also didn't charge us anything for the visit. Thanks Dr. Hussen!!! Joe

Beware of Dr. Ali. d my complaint about e He just rushed through the examination and did not properly heed my complaint about a problem in my right eye. He said it was only PVD(Posterior Vitreous Detachment) and told me that it would go away on its own. 3 days later it was worse, so I say another optometrist on Erb St. W. Dr. Faria did a much more thorough examination and discovered that I had a detached retin, and rushed me down to London for emergency. I am recuperating, and determining a course of action corncering the misdiagnosis and incompetence of Dr. Ali.

I went to Dr.Ali. first visit he said I had a small infection in my right eye and he gave me an antibiotic to use for five days I used it until it finished and it didnt make my eye better. So I went back to Dr.Ali he said il give you a different eye drop. And I asked him what the side affects are and he said only a little sensitivity from the light. But after i used it I was shocked to wake up in the middle of the night not being able to see. Everything was blurry and fuzzy I went back to the docter very worried and he says its normal thats what the medicine does. This caused me to stop going to school, I had a job oppertunity and i cancelled it because I could not see properly and i told the doctor that I wanted to stop with the eye drops and I wanted my vision back and he said to stop with the drops and my vision will come back in a few days. Its been 2 weeks and my vision is not back so I called him for an appintment and he said there is no need to come to his office. So I went to another doctor and he said that my eyes were just dry and gave me eye drops to moistorize my eyes

I recently located to the Waterloo area and was overdue for an eye check up. Even though the office was busy, I was happy to find out that Dr. Hussen was available when I walked in. I was pleasantly surprised that he turned out to be such a great Doctor! He was very helpful and knowledgeable about the condition of my eyes. Dr. Hussen took the time to ask questions to understand my daily activities and explained my prescription to me. I never felt rushed through the appointment and he answered all my questions regarding contact lenses. His office offers a teach service on how to properly use contact lenses. Hands down, Dr. Hussen and his team are amazing!!! I will definitely be returning to Dr. Hussen and you should get your eyes checked here too!!

Dr. Hussen was very knowledgeable, personable and helpful. I had vision concerns that I was a quite anxious about (due to a pre-existing medical condition). Dr. Hussen explained what would be expected in a "worst-case scenario" and illustrated where my concerns/symptoms aligned with that. Overall, I found my appointment with him to be wonderfully reassuring. The wait was not long at all and I was very impressed with the professionalism and interpersonal skills of the entire staff (Dr. Hussen was wonderful, but so was everyone else that I interacted with).

FYI: They do not provide your PD(pupils distance), which means you are unable to order good glasses with cheap price online. The explanation is that they do not sell glasses so they will not do that. The interesting thing is that, if you check out the website address they post on google map, it is "lenscrafters.ca", which leads to a glasses seller site when you copy/paste it to your browser. I paid my price for not asking if PD is provided before doing the eye exam. Will never visit them again.

He put me in touch with one of the best eye surgeons in Ontario, and the rest is history. Dr. Hussen is very knowledgeable and is able to put things in a way you can understand.
