The optometry office space is comfortable and welcoming, the staff is professional and knowledgeable. They are more than happy to answer eye health questions, provide alternative corrective lens solutions and help map out the potential trajectory of your sight/eye future. Their wide selection of eye glass frames and the staff assistance makes for a pleasurable and productive process.

I do not live in Cape Breton anymore, but was there for a family emergency. I broke the only pair of glasses I had with me. I contacted Dr. John Chafe Optometry and I received the very best of service. Following the Covid restrictions which were in place, they safely fixed my glasses with a minimum of inconvenience to me. Service like this needs to be commended.

Had detached retinas in the past and saw a pulsating image today in my vision that I didn't like. Phoned the office to book an appointment and they had one available almost a month away. Expressed my concern due to my history and they were able to get me in today with Jack. He explained what I saw and scheduled a follow up in 2 months. Was good to know they were concerned and willing to help. I feel a lot better now.

I stopped in to look for new glasses and after being offered a free eye exam he purposely gave me a weaker prescription than the one i was currently using because he thought it was "too strong". After buying new glasses with his prescription, he then expected the company that i bought my glasses from to pay for his mistake when i had to get new lenses because i wasnt able to see with the new prescription... i ended up paying out of my own pocket.
