Can not believe the incompetence in this office. I was set up for cataract surgery on the 20th of Oct....I get a call from there office at 4:35 the day before the surgery to tell me that they hadn't received the paper work from my family doctor and that my insurance deductible has not been met and I would have to come up with over 600.00 dollars and may have to pay for the surgery unit they use before this surgery will happen.I had a pre-opt for the surgery 2 weeks prior to the surgery date and this information should have been discussed with me at this time but was not, then they ask me to use eye drops two day before the surgery, when I went to picked them up at the pharmacy to my surprise even with insurance they still were over 100.00.The drops are no longer a use to me and when mentioned to Cathy at there office, her suggestion was to put them in the refrigerator they should have a long shelf life. No refund was offered for them knowing I had no use for them because the surgery was canceled due to not having correct paperwork that was needed in there office and no follow up was done from there office to find out why.So now I have to start all over again looking for an eye center that cares more about there patient and knows how to make sure that all the eggs are in the basket and then one that cares more about a patient going blind than the all mighty dollar.Just my opinion.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. Stolte for 20 years almost. I have been trying to get into see him for six weeks almost now and today I called as a courtesy to tell them that I was running late; 5, 10, maybe 15 minutes, as a result of a traffic accident at Mariner Blvd and Landover Blvd. The office staff told me that I need to reschedule! This is after explainIng to them last time and reminding them today, that I had a stroke last month and I was having some terrible problems with my eye sight, possibly as a result of the stroke. The office called me twice in the past six weeks to cancel my scheduled appointment making it almost two months now that I have not been able to see Dr. Stolte. That is totally unacceptable to me and has shown me that his office staff and maybe even Dr. Stolte doesn’t care about their patients. If you feel you have a serious issue with your eyes or eye sight in general, go to St. Luke’s. I cancelled my appointment with Dr. Stolte and am going there instead. I’ve heard wonderful things about St. Luke’s and the reason why they are highly visited by folks from all around the world; including kings, and presidents! Just a side note: Dr. Gills has written numerous books about Our Lord Jesus Christ and how to have a wonderful abundant life with Him. Dr. Gills donates all his books to the prison/jail system so inmates may come in to the light of Christ in their life, and is a light house to many at their darkest hours. At no charge!!!

I went to my optometrist because I thought I needed a pair of glasses. He gave me a thorough examination and told me that he could not prescribe me glasses because I had a degenerative disease of the cornea known as Fuch's Dystrophy and was told to immediately see an opthalmologist specializing in corneal disease. I made an appointment with Dr Stolte, who in his bio describes himself as a corneal surgeon, and received an examination. During this exam, I found Dr Stolte to be short with me and was asked again why I was even there to see him. I reiterated what my optometrist told me and he sarcastically told me that my optometrist didn't know what he was talking about. He said I did not have Fuch's Dystrophy and all I needed was a pair of glasses. After seeking a second opinion with another corneal eye surgeon, I was told I had an advanced case of Fuch's Dystrophy and needed to have a cornea transplant; if I didn't I would lose sight in that eye sooner rather than later. The transplant was done and I'm happy to say that after just a few weeks I can now clearly see and have 20/30 vision in both eyes. Before, I was unable to see out of my right eye because of dense cloudiness. Conclusion: Stolte is incompetent, rude and arrogant. How he could have failed to see that I had a serious eye condition, mystifies me. Please stay away and don't make the same mistake I did and run the risk of serious eye damage because of this man's lack of skill and professionalism.

Love the staff very friendly and professional. Dr Stolte is very nice and patient. The only reason we no longer go to the office is because they do not take our new insurance.

I been going to Dr. Stolte for 6 years, he has been informative, he explained my eye problems very thoroughly, Very thoughtful and compassionate. My husband and brother have been very pleased.

My wife and I have had the good fortune of having Dr. Stolte attend to our vision needs for almost two decades. From regular vision checks, to cataract removals, to an emergency caused by a spontaneously detached retina, Kieth Stolte has always been the ultimate professional and treated us (and our son) as though we were his single most important patients. I am happy to be able to provide an enthusiastic recommendation!

Boo Morales

They are clean and all the ladies and Doctor are awesome make you feel comfortable great place.

Very rude staff (some of them) and the doctor is very mean, degrading, and confrontational. Disrespected my girlfriend and I and personally provoked me and instigated a fight by going "What!? What do you wanna do!?" when I was looking puzzled at his refusal to help or answer any questions, without me even saying anything. The nurse did the same with my girlfriend (Michelle, the nurse, told her which eye was her bad eye and my girlfriend had to argue with her to get her to believe that her other eye was really the bad one). Doctor Stolte insulted both of us, left our issue unresolved, and left us angry. Waited an hour+ for mean treatment. Two hours later, and we're still fuming.

Horrifically unprofessional front desk staff. My appt was at 1115, by 1140 I still had not been called. I questioned the wait as I only had an hour(which I did advise at the time I made the appt) I was advised there were 2 emergencies that came in before my appt time. I explained to the woman at the desk I was on my lunch hour and it is quite some time after my appt and my issue is serious as well. Her response was quite curt and dismissive. I reminded her that I pay them, not the other way around. I was nevre rude, just matter of fact as the reality is they are there to provide a service and there are others that provide the same in a polite manner and a way that respects appt times and understands that not every person has unlimited time to wait for an appt. I went back when I was called but would not have had enough time for the visit. Again the employee at the front was very rude and rotten and even had the audacity to talk about me after I left. I advise people to be careful what they say when others are around, you never know who knows who in a smallish town. Disgusting service. I will atke the last reviewers advice and call St. Lukes.

From my very first visit to the one I recently had, I have been very, very satisfied. Everyone makes you feel as if you are part of one, big happy family. Any questions that I had were answered professionally and in terms that I easily understood. When I had my surgery, everything was explained beyond my expectations. All of the staff was very helpful and caring. Every time I have been there, before surgery, after surgery and every follow-up has been a real wonderful experience. I would never hesitate to go there for all of my eye care. My eyes have been terrific and have not had any problems what-so-ever. Thank you all for everything.

I tried to make an appointment with them because I am having trouble seeing. They told me that I had to make an appointment with an optometrist first and only if he/she thought it was indicated, could I see an ophthalmologist. I explained that I have been seeing an ophthalmologist virtually ever year of my life since I was 16 years old. Previously, optometrists have tried and failed to correct my vision. As a teenager, after walking around half blind during my entire childhood, my ophthalmologist analyzed the prescription of my eyeglasses and said "Is this what the victim was wearing?", meaning the prescription was not even close to what I needed. I also have a history of clots in my retinal artery, which my previous ophthalmologist found, not only saving my vision, but perhaps my life, but that was not enough to get an appointment with an ophthalmologist. Unfortunately, my previous ophthalmologist no longer takes my insurance and will not allow me to pay cash, supposedly due to contracts with insurance companies, and I was forced to change despite being willing to pay cash for a doctor who may have saved my life. But this place will NOT be my new ophthalmologist.

Dr. Stolte recently performed cataract surgery on my right eye and 2 weeks later on the left eye. I no longer wear glasses and see colors I haven't seen in years. He has been my eye care professional for over 20 years and I continue to recomend him to friends and family.

Kathy Thornton

Best eye doctor I have come across since I moved 4 years ago! Very compassionate and understanding. Will let you know your options. Staff is very friendly and pleasant ????

Dr. Stolte miss diagnosed my husband , said not to worry about a little growth on his bottom eyelid and it turned out to be cancer where he had to have that bottom eyelid removed (moths surgery) and then reconstructed by an oculoplastic surgery then the eye sewn closed for 6 weeks to heal...

Annette Castora

My husband and I have been patient's of Dr. Stolte for many years and have always been pleased with the examinations, surgeries and especially the friendliness and knowledge of his staff. Dr. Stolte always has time to spend to explain the procedures and answer all questions. Same goes for Kathy & Michelle, kudos to all.

Karen Tapcott

Very rude to me. Told me my eye condition in Rt. eye wa "sheer neglect" in a huffy voice.I have switched insurance so I don't have to see him again.

Connie Conrad

I went to Dr. Stolte For a simple cataract surgery. After the surgery I was having issues with my eyes and he said he left some cataracts in the eye while doing the second surgery he burst a blood vessel causing my eye to be completely blood for over eight weeks he also gave me a steroid injection in the front of the eye which caused white dots that are still in my eye. Needless to say after that I went to someone else be careful

I was very nervous about the surgery and found the staff to be wonderful. They made sure I understood everything and answered my questions as well as alleviating any fears that I had. The surgery center was great. They picked me up and brought me home so I did not have to bother anyone to take me. Dr. Stolte is a very gentle and soft-spoken physician and it did not take long for me to have complete confidence in him, the staff and the surgery center.
