Visited the clinic on 7/18 for an Eye test and prescription for my father who is a Senior Citizen. The doctor did not ask any comprehensive questions regarding patient profiling, background etc to my father who has Type 2 diabetes condition which also affects his vision. Is she even qualified to be an optometrist or just supporting business of selling glasses to misinformed patients. The initial examination on the machine is done with the clinic's receptionist, the doctor only gives her 2-min of precious time to write the prescription and sign. Their prescription is not even formal printed, is a handwritten note and doesn't even contain a prescription ID or a reference number which can be used to refer back to the document.
My intention to visit the clinic was straight forward and was communicated to doctor. I just wanted to get a prescription and order glasses online, which I believe the doctor and clinic receptionist did not really liked and profoundly refused, to provide complete medical information which belongs to the patient. After repeatedly requesting for PD (Pupillary Distance) to the doctor so that we can order the glasses online, they started raising their voice on me and said they don't provide that information unless your order glasses from their own store. Surprised much? I already paid for the prescription services, full $60 by that time and had no option to go back unsatisfied and partially angry, but still not raising my voice on anyone given that whole building is primarily place for various clinics.
I will be raising a formal complaint with Health Canada and COPO (College of Optometrists of Ontario) and requesting a charge back from my Credit card company as I did not received services nor the prescription I paid for.
