TODAY I called and asked to make an appointment for myself and my kids. Originally they gave me 3 appointments all on the same day which I lOVED bc I don't have transportation and having to bother someone for a ride once rather than 3 times makes things a lot easier. After the appointments were made she asked about our coverage and tried suggesting that we needed this new service for 59.99 bc of how wearing mask can EFFECT the eyes along with other things. I simply stated I'm happy with just the regular eye exam. She then stated she'd call me back. On the call back she told me Dr. STRATTON can only see the kids ( bc they're covered for exam along with the new service they were suggesting earlier for 59.99) and she then stated that I would have to be booked on a separate date. I then asked "okay, well can we do another day and or month where all 3 of us can be seen"? I explained the transportation situation. She then said rudely it doesn't matter what day or month Dr. STRATTON will only see the kids on 1 day and you on another. I was shocked. My mother then took the phone and offered to pay the 59.99 new service they originally wanted me to pay for, I KID YOU NOT, ONLY THEN she was like "oh okay" we can see you all the same day.... WOW.. It saddens me to be treated less bc of my coverage or status of income, and to know that this company has been driven so much by greed...

This place is wonderful ♡ First off, Dr.Stratton is very kind, knowledgeable and thorough. She has been my optometrist since I was a kid, and she is just as sweet and kind as she was 20 years ago. It turns out I had what looked like a tear behind my right eye. Dr.Stratton sent me to Dr.Patodia to make sure everything was okay. It was a tear, and Dr.Patodia performed laser eye surgery the same day I went to see him! Thank you both Dr.Stratton and Dr.Patodia for catching this as early as you did, and swiftly acting to save my vision. Secondly, I just wanted to give a big shout out to Stacie, who helped me pick out the cutest prescription glasses and sunnies! She has excellent customer service, and between her and Devon, the whole process was that of a well oiled machine. They displayed amazing teamwork and stellar service. Both of them deserve a raise! ♡♡♡

The eye exam has a lot of extras, which seems to drive the price up. I wish they had a more basic option, that was a little cheaper. Otherwise, everyone is friendly, and very helpful. I expected prices of their lenses to be more, but they're actually cheaper than other places in town (getting 30% off the total price of a second pair, not just lenses, is great)
All the staff are excellent at this location. In particular, I receive outstanding care from Dr. Stratton and Tim Fletcher. The clinic is beautifully and spaciously laid out, with ample parking. I was totally comfortable with the Covid procedures during my most recent visit

I have bought my last 6 pairs of glasses here after years of shopping the other "chain" stores. Tim, Zak, Sonia and everyone I have ever dealt with at FYI Sarnia have been consummate professionals and have taken excellent care of me! Tim (subtly and tactfully) educated me on the best frame style and shape to complement my face shape and my personal overall style. Ever since then, I have received nonstop complements on the glasses I have purchased there! Let's face it, when you wear glasses, you can only look your best if what you wear on your face gets as much consideration as the clothes you dress in and the makeup (or not) that you apply. You get what you pay for, folks, and if you want QUALITY and STYLISH eyewear that helps you look your best and is backed by great service and warranty, then I highly suggest you give them a try. I can't comment on any of the negative reviews here because I simply haven't had anything but the best service at FYI. I hope this helps.

Their eye exams are second to none. I personally wanted a bigger Oakley selection but that's just my personal dealio. I've been waiting almost 2 months for a pair of glasses I was told would take 2 to 3 weeks. No longer impressed... I informed the manager of my displeasure and I got a massive discount. Very good customer service!

My original optometrist Dr. Waters sold his company to FYI. My eyeglass frames broke last week and weren't repairable. So I went to FYI and they had me on file, but the warranty had expired being they were roughly 4 years old. So I explained to them that I was going to be having cataract surgery soon, and most likely wouldn't need glasses after the surgery. But I still needed my glasses to better see when I drive the fire truck in inclement weather as I'm a volunteer firefighter. The gentleman told me to come back in an hour and that he would look into it. Went back and he had them in a new frame. Asked him how much and he said no charge. Even better was the girl behind the other counter whom was concerned that they could do better for me than the frames he found to fit the lenses. Now that to me is service above and beyond. Told them we would be back next time we're purchasing any glasses. Again Thank you very much FYI!
Was told Dr waters would not see my son for his first eye exam (1 1/2) years old ….due to covid that we should wait several months ….. so in several months when covid is still a thing then what … sad to see people not getting proper care due to covid still…
FYI Doctors Sarnia has awesome staff! When I had my eye exam, they had tons of testing options to ensure my eyes were healthy. The opticians helped me to find glasses that fit and compliment my face. They have tons of options that are very unique. When my glasses broke because of an accident, they replaced them through my warranty with no questions. This happened during the covid pandemic and the office was very clean and sanitary.
I won’t be going there. I called for an exam. They tried selling me 135 dollar exam that I didn’t want. They told me their services are NOT available to any other doctors in town. That’s bs because any optometrist can purchase the equipment. A few optometrist in town offer the same service but for 85. FYI doctors is going over the eye care guildines. The same dental guide lines dentists go by. They are out for only profits they are a corporation. Only go to local owned facilities anywhere people.

This review was long overdue, the employees at FYI are second to none. My eye exam and fitting for my glasses was great. What really surprised me was in the weeks that followed when a pair of sunglasses that I had lost the rubber cushion on one side between the lenses. I took the sunglasses in to see if they could be repaired. They checked to see if they had parts that would fit and once they did replaced it. When I asked how much the bill for the repair was they replied it was free of charge. I will always take my eye care needs to FYI.

Dr Stratton was my Opt. and the reason I went to FYI I won't be returning. I will find another Dr not associated with this scam. The 2 pairs of glasses I got and had to pay 100% up front for are terrible. The service is horrible. the kids that work there stood around and talked about their weekend. If you want quality and good service, don't buy your glasses here. Eye exams aren't the problem with FYI, the scam is when you purchase glasses there. Be careful you are getting what you pay for.

I had a very pleasant experience today at FYI. The staff were helpful and friendly. Sonja especially. She helped me pick out glasses and sunglasses. She was very patient with me. Thank you, I will be a future customer at FYI in Sarnia.
So sad that you are not doing eye exams on children when your child has a lazy eye and needs a new prescription to replace her broken glasses. So the only way I am able to do the eye exam is if I pay an extra $70 dollars for a special screening that OHIP won't cover. Is this an example of price gouging during a pandemic? Sounds like it might be? So during a pandemic eye exams and replacing broken glasses are non essential? How do kids see during a pandemic? So surprised, disappointed and so frustrated.
Wow just wow . I have always bought my glasses at my eye doctor . With the service I received today that will change . Stacy was amazing and fixed me right up . I went in for a repair and left with no charge . That would never happen in the past . Future client definitely!!!!

Had a great experience at FYI Sarnia location - was right on schedule, everything went smoothly from the minute I was walked in. The cleanliness was top notch and diligence shown to make sure things were sanitized after any contact was made was outstanding. I would highly recommend using them and would be at all apprehensive! I have had a couple of exams done and my son has too. They are very friendly and helpful. I just took a pair of prescription safety glasses there to have the proper lenses put in them because I had to get them elsewhere for my work to cover them by the benefit plan. The other optometrist put the wrong prescription lenses in them twice. FYidoctors went above and beyond to help me with this issue.
My wife & I have previously bought prescription glasses from FYI. When this location re-opened for business in June, we each ordered prescription sunglasses. It took two weeks which we found reasonable. The Optician fitted us this morning. We were very happy with the COVID19 precautions. We were a little skeptical on being able to find something we liked without being able to walk around to look @ the selection. The process worked well because Stacie & Nicole were well prepared for our initial visit. The Optician did a thorough job today by making sure the glasses fit properly. This is the only place in town to decifer your eye problems. I've been to 3 others and they didn't see my problem. FYI id the best Sarnia has and they saw my problem.
